Perfection.
What else can you say about this quietly elegant hotel? It was perfection. My family just spent a week here over the Christmas holiday. Service and accommodations were amazing. Having a private shuttle to take you to and from the ski pistes was priceless. A special word to Colin and Pierre for their coordination and commitment to service. We will be back. Merci.
Be the first to ReplyGreat experience - just what we needed.
We only spent one night here but it was a really memorable night. We stayed in the new part of the hotel, in the rooms in the chalet where the spa and pool are located. The grounds felt very private, nice flowers and herb gardens.. nice places to sit in the garden, the staff is great (thanks Miguel and all others)... We ate at the gastronomic restaurant. I was a bit frightened about how much the bill was going to be... but not too bad. They also have another great restaurant of local dishes. The gastronomic restaurant is worth it. It's really nice, the staff is incredibly attentive and the food was really amazing. Starting from the tomatoes. Can order room service for breakfast that get's delivered on a nice tray... great choices. Our room had a big balcony. You can arrive early and use the spa and check out and use the spa. It is not the biggest spa (we only tried the sauna/steam room/ poor... and did not get any treatments), but it's nice a relaxing. I would recommend this place and look forward to going back again in the near future. It is also very close to town, so in a 5 minute walk you are on the strip in Chamonix. They have electric bikes you can use, and parking.... running trails.............

My spouse and I spent three nights in Chamonix. Our stay exceeded our expectations in every way. Even though we booked a small room it was very spacious and luxurious. The beds are wonderful! The stairwell has beautiful wood carvings of red squirrels. Make sure to check them out. It was so nice each morning to look out our window and see how well the grounds were cared for. Everything just looks picture perfect. The food at Maison Carrier was probably one of the best meals of my life. We ate there twice and still look back fondly at our time there. The terrine and piglet shoulder were divine! Also we tried the Quartz Bar for some nice Chartreuse cocktails - just like we make at home. Everyone we met at the hotel was so friendly. We enjoyed the pool each day as a great way to relax after hiking around the area. We plan to return next year for a week. Words cannot begin to describe how beautiful the Chamonix valley is. You have to visit and experience yourself. It’s quite the magical place that speaks to your soul.

This is the third visit for us here, even got the same room. This is a very bespoke property with lots of little luxury details, like the elevator is lined in leather. Our room on the third floor of the main building had an incredible view of Mont Blanc from the front, and a nice view from the side window of the Brevant side. Wonderfully comfortable bed and linens. The bathroom is huge and has a bidet too. Desk area is handy. I like the mix of designer MCM furniture with an antique alpine cupboard. The ground are beautiful with a garden that sources some herbs for the restaurants. Both are excellent by the way. They have good on-site parking, some in secure garage. Helpful shuttle service during the day. The staff is lovely with some of them remembering us from last year. We just love the understated elegance of this resort. Hope to be back next year.

My wife and I really enjoyed our experience in Chamonix at Le Hameau Albert 1er. Top experiences included Le Maison Carrier restaurant on our first night; our daily swim and steam room at the Spa after a day of skiing; the hard working staff and the super convenient shuttle taking you to any of the valley's ski areas. I tried them all!
Be the first to ReplyI think its the best hotel in Chamonix by far
One block from the Main Street. Quiet on a very large parcel of land. Two great spots to eat on property. Spa and pool. And a private driver to take your group skiing every day and pick up. What more can you ask for. Have stayed here four times now, and have looked at most of the other spots in town, cant imagine any others can match what they do.

We have stayed here 3 nights and enjoy greatly our stay! we had a buffet breakfast, which was not enough for me as I must eat salat every meal :) and have requested a salad to order, but they did not have so they arranged the very next day and obviously cooked omelette was available for order. I found this super excellent service.

I was traveling between Amency, France and Scion, Switzerland with a work colleague when we decided to stop for a quick lunch and restroom break. We happened upon this beautiful hotel and restaurant and were seated for lunch. We didn't understand the status of this restaurant until we reviewed the menu, but decided to order and treat ourselves to a gourmet lunch. Neither of us was truly hungry, but ordered the fish encroute w/truffles. It was sublime! the included amuse bouche and soup, and chocolate tasting at end were unexpected, but outstanding. The hotel owner, Perrine Carrier, stopped by to greet us and she is a gracious host. I look forward to coming back to stay at the hotel while partaking of the full tasting menu!

Marvellous stay . Warm and friendly atmosphere , nice setting , rich breakfast buffet with a number of local produce , marvellous food at the Restaurant gastronomique , good food at La maison Carrier , beautifully tended garden ( vegetable and pleasure gardens ) and plenty of sports activities , whether in summer or winter .

One of the best hotel that I stayed in, the rooms are spacious with king size bed, they are clean and well kept, the facilities were very comfortable, no room service but very excellent housekeeping, very friendly receptionist and waiterss, definitely I will come again to stay in this hotel.
Be the first to ReplyVery nice stay!
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in September. It is a very classy hotel with an attentive staff. Our room was in the main building with a view of Mt. Blanc. It is located near the center of Chamonix with restaurants and shops a short walk away. The room we had was on the small side, but very comfortable and fully met our needs. The breakfast was not included in the price of the room, but it was very good. We would definitely stay here again the next time we are in Chamonix.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful view in a extremely expensive hotel.
Beautiful hotel, pool in a beautiful setting. one would be expect there would be room service at all times but there was not. I was here several years ago and enjoyed it very much, the menu has changed being very limited and not excellent for a relais and château. rooms and restaurant extremely expensive. Rooms next to highway and railway with noise. It was very hot and rooms don’t have air conditioning, they had to bring fans. I don’t know if I would return.
Be the first to ReplyLoved this hotel. Met and perhaps exceeded expectations.
My review is based primarily on our room location, a corner room on 2nd of 3 floors with great views of the mountains to the south including Mont Blanc, room 212. It had many windows including a functional balcony with a small table and lounge chairs. Sleeping with the windows open in the cool evenings is a huge plus in my opinion. Even the bathroom had a large window that opened. There is a wood burning fireplace, small desk area, small inside lounge area and 2 TVs. The staff were great. The only negative is the WiFi was barely functional and you couldn't do a Zoom meeting or reliable WiFi calling. They acknowledged the problem and are working on it. The location is great. Close to main town, easily walkable yet far enough away from hustle & bustle. I am not a "foodie" and was disappointed with the Albert 1er restaurant. My friend and I had the "Matured Aubrey Wagyu Beef Entrecôte" and it was tough and almost impossible to chew. The lamb selection looked much better. The green Chartreuse soufflé was the only thing I enjoyed. The service, as expected, was excellent.
Be the first to ReplyFabulous stay at this charming hotel
I’ve been hearing great things about this hotel for years so it was a pleasure to finally get here. Our luxe room was amazing, with a beautiful flower filled terrace, log burner and expansive lounge area. Gorgeous heated indoor/outdoor pool and wraparound sun terrace from which to admire l’Aiguille du Midi and two phenomenal restaurants, one of which is Michelin starred. Over and above this though, the service is absolutely impeccable…friendly, professional and 100% on point, a rarity in today’s world, even in hotels at this level. Thank you for a beautiful weekend, we’ll be back again soon!
Be the first to ReplyAnother amazing stay
This is a unique property, with rooms both in the original building, and "Chalets" around the grounds. The entire property is immaculately groomed and super clean. I'm an artist, so notice little details others might not, like the elevator is lined in real leather, these details are everywhere. Nothing left to chance. Sitting by the pool? See the reflection of Mt. Blanc in the windows. The staff will do anything for you and are extremely helpful. They have a pretty little bar and some nights there is live music. They also have an incredible Michelin Star gourmet restaurant (see my separate review) Don't even think about taking your kids there, or if you are a picky eater, go to the casual restaurant on the property, also excellent. Walking distance to town, we never drove once here. Hope to be back next year.
Be the first to ReplyNice but too expensive for what it is
Nice hotel in a great location but I thought it was really overpriced for what it was. The room was very small with an uncomfortable (very hard) queen sized bed. The pool was outside and you have to walk a couple of minutes to it. Breakfast was a great disappointment. I ordered a glass g wine at the bar and it was 19 euros- I should have looked at a menu becte asking the bartender for a glass of red wine. Great location but once again not worth the money.
Be the first to ReplyLovely weekend break
Pros
The hotel is perfectly located adjacent to Chamonix town centre. Super easy walk.
The room was very comfortable, with a wonderful fire place and lounge area.
On arrival, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and able to guide us on all the best options in Chamonix (including ski options)
We had a wonderful weekend, though I would say this is a solid four stars vs. five by standards set in other luxury hotels.
Breakfast, when ordered to the room was excellent (though expensive)
Excellent ski locker facilities.
Cons:
The amenities in the room were good, though a little lacking for a five star hotel - in particular, tea and coffee facilities were very basic. There was an 8 euro charge to hire a Nespresso machine, which seemed crazy, I would expect that already.
Breakfast: lovely but very expensive (25 eur per head) and not included within the room rate. Very nice breakfast room though.
Spa Area: very, very nice but not quite up to the level suggested in the hotel photos and the indoor pool was pretty cold, which was a shame. Small jacuzzi area too.
Overall:
An excellent stay and loved the feel of the hotel and the friendliness / customer service from the professional staff. However, the points mentioned above, given the eye watering room rate, detracted a little from the overall experience.
Fabulous
Our first getaway weekend. We were spoiled by wonderful, friendly and attentive staff. Food and room service was excellent.
We stayed in room nbr 6 with the fireplace and view of the Mont Blanc. Very romantic!
I highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely go back.
