Michelin Star worthy
We were staying in the hotel for two nights and because of the ambiance and the care shown by the hotel staff we thought we would take advantage of their restaurant. SO GLAD WE DID. What an experience! We stuck to the set menus, choosing a different one each evening, and each evening had the selected wines to go with the food. The menus were not cheap but my goodness, we got what we paid for. Every course was a work of art and a culinary delight with flavours bursting in the mouth. It is almost impossible to select a favourite serving but if I was forced I would have to say the razor clams and also the pigeon, both of which, like the rest of the meals were amazing. The serving staff ( which included the owner who is the wife of the chef ) were professional yet warm and friendly, and very knowledgeable about both the food and the selections of wine accompanying each of the courses. There is no way fault could be found with their performance (and indeed it was a performance with the food being the star). The restaurant itself was large and warm and the settings on the table were very simple and chic. Both the cutlery and crockery were high end and the whole atmosphere produced a feeling of luxury. That being said the hero of the hour has got to be the chef. Why on earth that man does not have AT LEAST one Michelin Star I will never know. He more than deserves it. If you ever get the opportunity to eat here, grab it - you will not be disappointed. We will be back..........
