Humuhumunukunukuapua'a Kihei Reviews from The Last Year
Great service.
Food was good. I went for the pork chop. It was delicious, I have never had such tender chop. The wild mashrooms side was delicious! Nice ambiance
A must visit while in Maui! Great atmosphere and true
A must visit while in Maui! Great atmosphere and true vacation vibes. Cocktail program is great, highly recommend.
Dined here a couple times during my recent trip to Maui.
You really can't beat the setting, ambiance and staff! There's really no bad seat in the restaurant. Our entire experience was worth raving about. Highlights were the signature Mai tai cocktail, crab cake & the king salmon Can't wait to return next year!
My favorite place to dine at the Grand Wailea! The service
My favorite place to dine at the Grand Wailea! The service is impeccable and the food is amazing. The mai-tai's are 10/10 and the views are unbeatable. Highly recommend!
A great restaurant at the Grand Wailea Hotel that I got to
A great restaurant at the Grand Wailea Hotel that I got to enjoy during my stay. I appreciated the attentive service from the staff through dinner and the ocean view at sunset was beautiful. I was very happy with my filet and asparagus with ube mashed potatoes. If you're looking for a nice restaurant during your stay at the hotel, I highly recommend giving it a try!
Humu in 30 Seconds! My Take: Pricy upscale dining
Humu in 30 Seconds! My Take: Pricy upscale dining experience inside the gorgeous Grand Wailea. Fantastic at times, great/above average at others. Our latest experience was for the sunset package ($35 each, including a sunset view table and champagne). It was very good, but also around $475 for two people including appetizer, sunset package, mains, dessert and coffee. No alcohol other than the included champagne with the sunset package. My Order: Crab Cake - single cake, amazing quality, 2 people shared, sauce was fantastic and almost all crab meat. One hidden shell. Bread - Ubu bread with passion fruit butter. Amazing! Iberico Pork - Amazingly tender; the "wagyu of pork" didn't disappoint. Sauce was bitter; skip it. Instead go with the molokoni mashed sweet potatoes with hot honey. Absolutely INSANE. 10/10 dish with those combined Spiny Lobster Curry - Wife ordered this. Super pricy at nearly $100, curry was good but you need to take off shrimp tails, lobster tail, chop up veggies, etc. Good, but not $90+ good. Mud Pie Dessert - Good, ice cream based pie. Decent, but not a must have Banana Pudding Dessert - Also good, but not jaw dropping. Decent if you enjoy banana based treats Final Thoughts: Humu lives and dies off its seasonal menu. If you are ready to drop hundreds on the experience it's a great option... if you're in Wailea I'd suggest going more casual and hitting up Monkey Pod unless it's specially for a birthday or big celebration.
Great food, great service, staff is friendly and attentive,
Great food, great service, staff is friendly and attentive, and the view is unbeatable!
I don't get the bad reviews besides price.
This place was delicious! I had the ceviche which I loved, the daily catch of kanpachi was so fresh, the crab salad was so refreshing, and the sides of mushroom (soooo good) and asparagus was great. I also loved the strong drinks (much stronger than the pool). Loved it! It felt like a very Hawaiian experience - like when I used to come to Hawaii as a kid. It is pricey but worth it for special occasions. We really enjoyed the service and would definitely come back again!
Over priced food.
Service was slow. Ambiance was as great. Food not only wasn't worth it but the price tag made the meal disappointing
Everything was just OK.
My husband and MIL ordered steaks, which they liked. My FIL and I ordered salmon that was very meh... Cocktails were way overpriced and simply not that great. Ambiance was cute, but you can get better food & drinks, impeccable service, and views at Spago down the beach path at the Four Seasons. Our server was nice, but we had to flag him down any time we needed something. His assistant started taking our plates before were finished eating. And to top it all off there was a cockroach running around (I know it's an outdoor restaurant, but I've been to Hawaii many times and have never seen that!). Overall, the high price point was not justified by the average food, beverage, & service. If you're looking to spend over $1000 on a meal, there are many better options in Maui- Spago, Hotel Wailea, & Mamas Fish House to name a few.
