Indochine Downtown Jacksonville Reviews from The Last Year
The food hit the spot.
.. Reason for visiting: Date Night after Candlelight Concert Day & Time: Saturday at 7:30-8:45 Party of: 2 Reservations: none Order Type: dine-in Waiter: really nice guy wish I remembered his name Service: fast and friendly Ambiance: chill Food Order: -Appetizer: crab Rangoons -Drink: peach mango spritz- yummy, red eye- the best, green tea- does not come sweetened, sparkling water -Entree: chicken and shrimp Pad Thai (level 2 heat)- Perfection, the curry red snapper- delicious Portion Size: Reasonable Conclusion: The food is really good! The drinks are great too. The only things I hate are the fabric on the chairs and wooden chopstick for dine in use. The fabric It looks and feels dirty to me and the wooden chopsticks that they wash seems very unsanitary to me. I would for sure always get the food to go! The service was also fast and friendly.
Great spot as usual !!! Solid waitstaff .
.. solid food!! Cool atmosphere ... but you knew that! Could use an update ... but it's Jax. Pho was special

I usually order the same dish, pad soon sen, I just feel the thin noodles don't feel as filling. Today I ordered the Laab salad, the flavors are so delicious, fresh webs and lime, perfect light lunch.
Best Thai food I've had in a while.
Reasonably priced. Good atmosphere. Nice service. I would eat here again happily.
Great good.
Great happy hour and good service. We sat with Tony. He's quirky and funny. We had several apps, Pho and soft shell crab curry. Everything was delicious. My most recent visit was my first in a while but I've always been a fan of this restaurant.

Climbing 2 sets of steep stairs in a dingy hallway with only a statue of Buddha to guide me increased my trepidation & wondering if I'd made the right choice for our party of 8. Indochine is a surprising small restaurant with an even smaller bar enough for 4. Our party of 8 were seated in a banquette with just enough room for comfort. We arrived early & were the first group there. The restaurant filled up by 6 pm on a Tuesday night & was bustling. It got very hot in there & I can't imagine the comfort level on a hot summer night. When seated our party was approached by a pleasant server who answered questions & provided suggestions about the menu for those in our party not familiar with Thai food. And that's where it gets a little blurry for me. I love Thai food. I love the flavors of coconut, galanga, lemongrass and all the aromatic spices Thai cooking has to offer. I always order Tom Kai Ga soup whenever I go to any Thai restaurant. Is my go to, and I love the flavors of the coconut milk & lemongrass, and galanga. I found the soup lacking any coconut milk. It's as if they waived the coconut over the top of the bowl and kept going. There was no coconut flavor at all & others who ordered it agreed. I will say the soup was good and had it been billed as another soup I would've liked it. But I was extremely disappointed it didn't have that coconut taste at all. for my entrée I had the Penang curry. It also had a very light flavor and did not stand out. As for the others entrées, everyone really liked their dishes, especially the appetizers. I found Indochine to be more of a lighter Asian inspired than Thai. The food just didn't have the Thai spices that I personally look for. Overall, besides the soup the food was good & our party of 8 enjoyed. Tip: I do not know if they have an elevator so if you can not walk up several steep flights of stairs I would call first to find out if they have an elevator.
Great Thai food in downtown Jacksonville.
I had chicken Pad see ew. Right amount of spice added, I had 3 I believe.
If I could give a zero star I would.
I used to love going here. Food was always amazing. But will not return again due to the horrible service. Was there today for an hour and never received food. My group and I were literally the third table to get there before the lunch rush and after an hour we were told there was still 6 orders ahead of us. When the server finally brought our drinks, he dropped one of the drinks on the table and split it everywhere. I understand everyone makes mistakes, however, when you drop an entire drink on a table you can at least clean it up quickly and apologize. This server mumbled his apology so we could barely hear him and took almost 10 mins to clean it up. When we asked him where our order was [after an hour] and if we could get it to go, he took it upon himself to cancel our order and then proceed to yell at us for his errors. Will not be back.
Our server was making his stress OUR stress.
But the food was good. I had the pad thai with tofu.
Nice atmosphere.
You do have to climb stairs to get in however. Well presented menu with lots of options. There is a small bar and a cocktail list. My noodle dish was perfect, with the right amount of spice (4). Edamame was not soggy and had the salt properly added. Good service.

Having a craving for some Thai Food had to stop at Indochin downtown great food with some great tasting satay chicken for an appetizer. Service was spot on lots of food for the price if your looking to try some Thai food and your downtown give them a try.
A great Dinner
We met friends here for dinner before a show at the Florida theater. The food was super delicious. I tried the cider on tap and it was a great pairing with the truly spicy red curry we got. We will be back. Also it is nice to go to a place downtown that has a parking lot.

Good Afternoon. It looks like you have requested a name transfer for Carbone NY. Unfortunately, this is one of the restaurants that is almost impossible to do name changes for. They don’t accept phone calls so they are difficult to change the reservations that were booked online.
