My reservations got cancelled due to the power outage so they told us that they will give us a reservation at the Beverly Hills location but when we got there we had to wait almost two hours( basically they lied to us about the reservation)
Be the first to Replybombbbb food.
great service. solid 8.7/10. I def recommend coming to this location specifically (its also not too far from the beach which is a major plus)
Be the first to ReplyCame to visit LA with wifey.
She wants to try it, heard good things about this spot. Pasta is decent but definitely on the pricier side considering it was just pasta noodles, vodka and pesto sauce. Unbeknownst to me, they bill 18% service charge on tops of the tip section, it irritates me the most since nowhere in their menus stated doing so... I wont be back..

The pizza, pasta, and salad were good but not spectacular considering that it was on the pricier side. We also came for dinner and just opted for take out because there was no seating space. got the gem lettuce, spicy fusilli pasta, and mushroom pizza

Food is good - place is noisy - and the 18% service charge is outrageous. Just increase the food prices or drop it to a reasonable 5% like most other restaurants.
Be the first to ReplyOur daughter, home from SMU in Texas, wanted to go here
Our daughter, home from SMU in Texas, wanted to go here with her Texas mates for a pre-LAMarathon dinner. I made the reservation 2 weeks ahead of time and the best I could do for a party of 5 was outside at 5pm. The college kids loved it. The food was very good. We did overlook the parking lot and it was cold, but the wait staff was accommodating with heaters and menu advice. We shared the little Nat's pizza and the shaved zucchini to start. The shaved zucchini salad was outstanding. Highly recommended. My husband and I both had the cavatelli. It was REALLY good! The kids all had the Spicy Fusilli and all loved it, one commenting on the quality of LA food. We had the St. Patrick's day mint soft serve for dessert--excellent and so perfect! They do have a $50 corkage fee...my husband and I shared a bottle of wine we love and the 3 young adults had a cocktail. $350 all in. We will be back but make reservations well ahead of time.
Be the first to ReplyQuality food for sure.
Very solid vodka pasta and marg pizza. Was super crowded even late at night and service was okay. I liked the food, but have had pizza and pasta I prefer more at different restaurants. Cool vibe though and defs worth a try if you're in the area. Street parking can be tough depending on time of day.
Be the first to ReplyI came for dinner and I was charged an 18% service fee
I came for dinner and I was charged an 18% service fee which I thought was a tip but come to find out the company keeps that service fee and doesn't even give that to the service workers. So on top of the bill , the 18% service fee AND the tip it was an unnecessary $30 added for no reason. This is horrible for the company to do this, I will not be eating here again. It's big and greedy.

The most amazing quality pastas!! The ricotta burrata was INCREDIBLE. Also the service was phenomenal, Darren really accommodated us and Sam was the most kind waiter! Highly recommend also very affordable.
Be the first to ReplyBeing in Brentwood means a Jon & Vinny's always consistent,
Being in Brentwood means a Jon & Vinny's always consistent, perfectly executed one-size cheese pizza to-go. Hey, it was my turn to "make" dinner. Think thin, really thin, never soggy crust, totally able to support signature, savory marinara with a just-right-edge-to-edge spread of cheese for an iconic fold (Think Viggo Mortensen in 2018's "Green Book".). At pick-up I wasn't hungry. Decided to save the pie for dinner; share with hubby along with a DIY green salad. On the way home, couldn't stop eyeballing the box safely belted on the passenger seat (warmer on in case I/we couldn't wait). At home, as soon as I opened the box it was dinner NOW! We ate at 3PM. Hey, we're old early bird diners AND need immediate foodie gratification! Two skinny slices left for a 6PM snack, well maybe if we can wait that long... Thanks Jon & Vinny's for a delicious reprise, just as we expect it, enjoy it! Metered parking on San Vicente Avenue. Parking also in surrounding residential area with attention to permit restrictions and street sweeping days.
Be the first to ReplyThe food is exceptional - Italian American staples done
The food is exceptional - Italian American staples done well. However, the service needs work. I always feel rushed here where all the food comes out at once with zero pacing. I had to tell the server to slow down because we had no more space on our table. Also, there's an 18% included surchage, which I can understand, but then they expect you to tip IN ADDITION? The server even circled it on the receipt that the surcharge is not a tip. Who is paying 40% in service charges? Outrageous.
Be the first to ReplyVery rude staff not very accommodating and we payed over
Very rude staff not very accommodating and we payed over $100 for our food order all because we asked to reheat our pasta we got mad dogged by the whole staff .. gratuity included in the check and it felt like we were being robbed because we payed full price for such horrible service
Be the first to ReplyJon & Vinny's is always okay but soooo not worth the 18%
Jon & Vinny's is always okay but soooo not worth the 18% service fee. "This fee is not a tip" apparently so then you end up adding 40% onto your meal cost. Also the outdoor seating in Brentwood is pretty weak, it's in the back parking lot and you sit on picnic tables... if I want some good Italian food with no ridiculous fees I'll go down the block to pizzana. I won't be back here.
Be the first to ReplyDo not be filled by all the reviews, I have eaten at Jon
Do not be filled by all the reviews, I have eaten at Jon and Vinny's multiple times. The food is extremely overpriced for the quality, usually when ordering takeout by the time you pick up the food it's cold, tastes like it was sitting for a long time. They also are very unpredictable in quality, the chicken parm is very gross, dried out, limited sauce on it. The staff is rude, contacted the manager this past time ordering to explain to her how come the food was when I picked it up and how bad the chicken parm was, she told me remember her name and next time she will give me a free cookie or something. That is remarkable customer service, you can find much better Italian elsewhere.

I would drive my car through my entire house if it meant I can get another pizza from Jon & Vinny's.
Be the first to ReplyWe met some friends who lives in Brentwood here for brunch
We met some friends who lives in Brentwood here for brunch on a cool, rainy day. Parking was a challenge since the meter didn't seem to want to take my credit card (perhaps becuase it was Pres Day), but I discovered after that they have parking in the back. Noted for next time! I had 2 hangry boys in tow and really needed a cup of coffee myself. Jon & Vinny to the rescue! Son #1 demolished a BLT, son #2 demolished a bacon pizza (yep, for brunch) and I ordered the soft eggs made with burrata (so delicious). We also ordered some banana bread for the table, which was so good. And of course...coffee! Food came out relatively fast and was so filling that I made it from 10am until 5:30pm dinner. My friend, the local, said this was one of their favorite brunch spots and I can see why!

the recent reviews are NOT WRONG!! while the food is good, and bus boys were great... the service is HORRIBLE for the price. i was there with my 5 year old an hour ago...the waitress was RUDE and UNATTENTIVE. i caught her rolling her eyes at me MULTIPLE TIMES! i had to get up and get my own glass of ice water bc she wasnt checking on us regularly... and on top of that an 18% non negotiable service fee w gratuity additional??? i could get w that if the service was excellent... but it aint!!!

Woke up this morning wishing I could eat the meal all over again tonight: Gem lettuce crunchy salad with spicy Caesar dressing, Eggplant Parm, La Woman pizza, spicy fusilli Mmmmmm! Attentive service. Please bring one to South Kansas City!
Be the first to ReplyFood is outstanding.
Wine is managed by a shop-in-shop great selection and service But...the 18% charge for employee benefits is ridiculous. I feel for servers who probably would prefer the traditional tipping method

They charge you for bread and it's an 18% service fee, hard pass. The waiter also was constantly changing so it took 15 minutes to receive the check. Definitely didn't need a to go box as the portions are incredibly small for the high price. The food was mid.
Be the first to ReplyI've never been here before and my wife had been here many
I've never been here before and my wife had been here many years ago. I'm not sure why I never went here with clients back in my corporate sales days or just in general; I love pizza, am a great critic of pizza and worked at a pizzeria back in Jersey from age 12-22. Here goes the realest review possible: Walked in with my beautifully dressed wife for date night at 6:45p. In line before us was an early 30's couple, the man had sweatpants and crocks, and a tee shirt, female wore drab attire which looked like a dress. A group of early twenties men were paying for their check at a table in front of us and 4 out of 5 of them had PJ pants on; all wore tee shirts. This got me fired up a little bit but let it play out in respect for date nightWe got seated right away by an energetic and positive host. I took a quick look at the menu to see the prices and saw how expensive it was. The carpet was not matching the drapes. We were dressed according to a $200 dinner, a majority of the place dressed like they were getting a bacon egg and cheese at the bagel store at 7:30am on a Sunday. Least expensive glass of wine was $16 and least expensive bottle was $65. We expected that and dressed accordingly. We ordered the chopped salad - excellentI ordered the Bronx pizza and my wife ordered a mushroom pizza and that was the "only pizza they didn't have" so she ordered the Brooklyn. First bite of pizza - bland. Second bite - bland. I took a bit of the Brooklyn - bland. Crust was great. I ate my pizza while trying to figure this whole situation out. Place was packed and people seemed to think this is good pizza. The sauce tasted like the sauce someone tries to make when they make pizza at home. It almost tasted like it was right out of the can. There's no way that sauce was cooking for 8 hours in a cauldron, low flame, stirring every 15 minutes. We laughed it all off while eating every last bite. We knew we would never come back but part of me wants to come back to make sure we weren't there on an off night where the cook didn't do the sauce correctly. Probably not gonna happen but I'm going to be forever curious. We got the check and saw the tomfoolery that tied it all together: we got the auto 18% tip. We caught it but I'm assuming 20-30% of this clientele doesn't catch it. We would have tipped 20% but stuck with the 18 because I took this as an insult. I certainly did not add a tip as they suggested on the bill 8-15% more on top if 18%. Total joke all around. But it's working for these guys. Place was packed and reservations are hard to get. I chalk it up to a great business model to take advantage of people who don't really know what good pizza tastes like. We'll never go back to Jon & Vinny's. We will continue to frequent Stella Barra on Main as that's the best apples to apples comparison. That's my first review in like 8 years I think. I had to do it to help others out who just don't know what's up.
Be the first to ReplyI'm a little confused by all the negative reviews related
I'm a little confused by all the negative reviews related to portion sizing and price. It's a slightly pricier, trendy Italian restaurant with everything on the menu under $30, and many items around $20 so it seems pretty reasonable, especially considering the pedigree of the founding chefs. The pizza is not bad but I think the meatballs and pastas are better. The creamy pastas - Cacio E Pepe and Spicy Fusilli vodka pasta are probably my favorite but the cavatelli with sausage is solid too. Corn agnolotti is very unique of you like sweet corn. Service was good, no issues there.

Love this place! they have the best pizza ever and mozerella sticks. The staff is very kind only bad thing is that its hard to get a reservation and they don't really do walk ins.

Absolutely delicious with welcoming energy! I typically choose one of their seasonal salads, the fettuccine Alfredo and the chicken cutlet "capri"! They also play some good tunes.

One of my favorite restaurants! Can't go wrong with anything on the menu; everything is consistently great. Love their burrata and aged Parmesan as appetizers, it goes great with glass of wine. I recommend trying lemon pasta and cavatelli! Spicy fusilli is good but try something else; it got boring at this point. As of 18% service charge, it's ridiculous to be honest. I'd rathe leave better tip. I feel like a lot of people don't even tip after seeing 18% included. I think it's only restaurant in LA I've seen it. Considering that it is NOT fancy restaurant and service is minimal. Server just gets your order pretty much. Hopefully management reconsiders it in the future.
