Service was incredible, how can they stay in business with such bad service. We ordered from 4 or 5 different wait staff and not a single order made it in. Had to order everything 2 or 3 times because we'd wait 20 minutes before asking if anything was coming. They said no and asked us what we wanted after we waited 20 minutes. And this was multiple times. Worst service I've ever seen. They took two orders of fries off the bill because they knew the service was bad. We didn't even ask for anything off and didn't mention bad service. At one point, one of the waitresses asked us how long we'd been waiting since we ordered. I lied and said 2 minutes but it was more like 22.

Kiki's is one of those rare trendy spots that feels more cozy than pretentious, and while the food was a bit underwhelming, it makes for a good downtown date night. We went out of our way to visit this spot located in an old Chinese storefront within the nebulous borders of Dimes Square, and although packed, were happy to find a seat at the bar located in its second dining room across the street. Although arguably one of the city's most buzzy spots, the interior is hardly hip, and instead reflects a homey, lived-in Mediterranean vibe. We started out with a huge, medieval jug of their chilled white, and then settled on dinner. We started with their tzatziki and horiatiki, followed up by Greek potatoes, honeyed saganaki, and gigantes bean stew. Everything was fine, if not a bit straightforward, but nothing I couldn't get from most Greek taverna-style restaurants elsewhere. Regardless, the buzzy, young atmosphere makes this spot a scene.

Greek is greatttt. Culture: balance Thrive always..... hahaaa

Loved that Kiki's on the outside feels like one is entering a print shop. The decor is minimalist but has a lot of character. We went on a busy Saturday night and got great service. The octopus for starters tasted great. So did the lemon potatoes . The zucchini chips were a tad too oily. Don't get the house red even though it's priced great ($26 for a 1L carafe). For mains we got the lamb and branzino. They tasted okay, nothing that would bring me back here except maybe for the vibe.
Be the first to ReplyMy go to Greek spot in the city! Such a gem in the LES.
The ambiance is great and they're almost always packed. So make sure to reserve before going.

Had a nice lunch at Kikis, which I had been meaning to try for some time. Two people shared Tzatziki, grilled octopus, and Imam Baildi (eggplant with peppers) and it was a good amount of food. The tzatziki was good but nothing out of the ordinary. The octopus was very lightly grilled and moist. I prefer octopus to be a little bit more charred, but Kiki's lightly grilled preparation is probably more authentic. My favorite dish of the meal was the Imam Baildi, which was eggplant with peppers on top and dusted with cheese. I am not a huge fan of eggplant generally, but it is so good in this dish and the tomato sauce and peppers pair very well. In terms of service, the resturant was full including the bar seating, and the two servers were obviously not able to keep up with all of the tables. I felt this was unfair to both the customers and the servers, who I am sure would get better tips if they were able to provide standard service. I hope someone was just out sick that day and that Kiki's doesn't routinely understaff lunch service.
Be the first to ReplyI went with a couple friends, one who had been here before.
It is hard to recognize since the sign above the place is left over from the previous business. I really enjoyed the food here, their spanakopita (feta, spinach puff pastry) is so so good. The place is super cramped so beware of that, but its great for a late night meal before you continue on with your night in LES/Chinatown. Every dish seems very authentic, and the flavors are rich and delicious. I would love to come back and try more dishes!

As a Greek American I can proudly say this is my favorite Greek restaurant. Everything either tastes like home or has a new twist on a classic dish and I love it. Affordable and cozy. Fantastic service for a crazy packed place. Worth the wait if you have to but my table of 4 sat no problem at 6pm
Be the first to ReplyThe food was amazing.
The tzatziki and eggplant dip were so fresh and delicious. They go perfectly with the pita chips. The Greek salad was simple but fresh and was a perfect addition to the meal. The saganaki was so good. A combination of savory and sweet, but if you're not a fan of cheese, I would avoid it as it is very cheesy. The lamb chops were amazing! Very juicy and soft and not gamey at all! The space was bigger than it looked from the outside and is very casual. It would be good for larger groups and even small groups. The service was amazing, and they were very attentive, especially to our allergies. Would definitely visit more!
Be the first to ReplyThe place is so nicely done.
We went on the weekend for lunch and did not have to wait, although we did not have a reservation. Service was quick. We got the spanakopita and it was great. Apart from that rest of the food we had was just okay. Briam was sautรฉed vegetables and it was pretty bland and even their fava dip. But sure if it's a good spot for vegetarians.
Be the first to ReplyThe host at this place needs to get over himself.
Last Friday was perhaps a particularly busy night because it was the first nice day this winter, and I tried to put my name down for a group of friends and myself. I walked in and none of the three people by the door acknowledged me and finally when I got to the host he refused to put me down unless we committed to waiting 2 hours (!!). I asked him to put my name down just to hold my place while I confirmed with my friends. When I came back in a few min later to tell him that we weren't going to stay after all, I saw that he hadn't actually written my name and I made a joke about it and he got all passive aggressive that I was supposed to come and tell him. Excuse me that's what I came back in to do?? And there were now several names after where I would've been so would we then have had to wait 3 hours if we had decided to stay??I've been here many times before and the food is good, not the best, but it's inexpensive and fun and usually the service/host are not unpleasant like this. I won't be back in a hurry.

Walk-ins only at this restaurant without identifiable signage and an auxiliary seating area across the street. Considering the restaurant space consists of conjoined nooks and crannies, most of the tables are surprisingly isolated and not cramped. For the price, you've got to be kidding me. Whole fish and lamb chops under $30 each. I lived in Greektown in Chicago for years and though as a purely Greek restaurant Kiki's has a few peers there, it has to be the most memorable. Considering you can get a liter of wine for $26 I'd suggest that this is the best grungy Greek restaurant in the world. Only negative for us was that the baklava was old and almost stale.

Satisfactory Greek food whose dishes are nothing to write home about, however has one of the strongest dating atmospheres in the city. The octopus was easily their best dish. $18 a dish. 3.75/5 stars as dinner spot.

If you're expecting food here that will blow you out of the water, this is not the place. The hype of this place on social media might make you think otherwise; however, that being said, the food is GREAT and SO cheap! The atmosphere and service are also great. This is a perfect spot for a quick, good, consistent, and authentic meal.
Be the first to ReplyFood is amazing and service is great.
Ask for Alivia. If you're older, like me, get there early, fills up fast.
Be the first to ReplyI have been to Kiki's twice, the first time was great.
Atmosphere, food, service were all solid. As for the second visit, I was very disappointed. We were seated in the secondary area and felt just as much, secondary. It took 20 minutes for our waiter to even address us. The food was average, unfortunately nothing to write home about. One of the apps we ordered never came. When it came time for the bill, we had been clearly done eating for almost 30 minutes before I had to grab the waiter to ask for the bill - the bill that was wrong, with additional items we never ordered. The waiter seemed much more occupied by all the pickup/delivery orders. On top of it all, the room was freezing, felt as though heat was off while it was snowing outside. Would be tough to choose to return here rather than try other new places.

Kiki's is one of my absolute favorites here! The food is delicious, the servers are very prompt and they want to make sure everything's right. Typically this place is very busy and can get up to a 3 hour wait time so plan ahead cause they don't take reservations!
Be the first to ReplyKiki's is a real treat.
Everything here is fresh and delicious. My personal favorite dishes are their horiatiki salad, lamb chops, tzatziki, & French fries. It's a really fun vibe, and a great place to come with a group of friends to share a couple of dishes.
Be the first to ReplyLocation, fast service and great food.
Everything I look for in a restaurant. Will go back.

First off I Love their french fries - perfectly seasoned, crisp, just everything you'd want from hand cut fries. And the homemade mustard sauce is just right! My Dakos salad was exactly what I wanted. Filling and light. There's barley rusk in there, not just veggies and cheese. The seasoning is awesome. Octopus isn't the best I've had but it was pretty damn good and went well with my salad. Perfect lunch! Just wish they weren't so crowded for dinner, it's impossible to get a table. I always give up and go elsewhere nearby.

The ambiance at Kiki's is so cute, especially during the warmer months when the seating flows out onto the streets. The orange wine is phenomenal. I couldn't try the house because they were out. The food is VERY spiced. Much oregano. It ended up making me sick and I haven't been able to eat oregano since. Throwing up lamb chops might have been the single worst experience of my whole life. Still, I remember enjoying it at the restaurant. Come expecting leftovers, because the portions are decent and the food is very rich.
Be the first to ReplyFive stars for food.
Two stars for service. Always good food but tonight our service was terrible. Knowing how popular the place is, we showed up early ย for dinner at 6:30. ย We ordered a bottle of wine - got two glasses for the table although we were three people. We ordered three apps , a salad and the mixed grill. ย We specifically asked that the apps be served first, then the salad and the main. Everything arrived within five minutes of each other, leaving us feel as if we were being rushed out before we had barely started.... so we ordered a second bottle of wine. ย I have worked in restaurants so I understand the need to turn tables but dumping all the food in a hurried manner does not lead to a pleasant dining experience for your customers.I've had better service in places like Kyrgyzstan where hospitality is valued. :-)
