Reliable, consistent, and delicious mediterranean food in Greenwich Village! The wine selection never disappoints!

Always love it here and this dinner was no exception! I went with my roommate on a Sunday for a lowkey birthday dinner. I always love the muhammara and the rest of the food was great. The server even helped my roommate secretly order a birthday dessert for me. It's always so cute inside too! Definitely recommend.

Best service I've had in a while! We sat outdoors with my dog and the server brought out a water bowl and even asked if my dog would like some "t-r-e-a-t-s"!! This was so thoughtful, knowing how crazy dogs can get with certain words lol. We had the muhamara, warm cauliflower and grilled eggplant to share. My husband had the shawarma pita and I got the middle eastern breakfast. Food was amazing and service was very attentive and friendly. Can't wait to go back to try the kibbeh next time!
Be the first to ReplyLovely brunch spot.
We walked right in! The layout is great, you don't feel cramped and it has some amazing natural light. Food was yummy. I am a huge cauliflower fan and this one really hit the spot. The French toast was not too sweet and was also really delicious. I could definitely see coming back either for a small brunch or even for a larger group.
Be the first to ReplyAnother great meal.
Fantastic food and drink. Lovely atmosphere. My favorite is the cauliflower hummus salad with pomegranate seeds. Fantastic. Super drinks and delicious desserts.
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding lunch yesterday at Kubeh.
I had the chicken shawarma with lemony arugula and onion salad. Highly seasoned with a zingy herby green tahini, mango spicy amba sauce. I got their warm pita to go with it. Washed it down with a nice chagachinno mushroom coffee. I got dessert to go: semolina ricotta cake with a lemony glaze. Everything was fresh and delicious. I loved the bar window seat. I'll be back

Came all the way from Texas just try this place because I heard they have some Kurdish dishes on the menu. I walked in at 9:10 and was told the kitchen was already closed. If they close at 10, the kitchen shouldn't be closed an hour before. 15 minutes, even 30 is understandable but really disappointed to be turned away during business hours.
Be the first to ReplyCame for restaurant week and was not blown away.
I felt like all the dishes needed much more flavor. The kubeh had a texture that wasn't my favorite - very dense - but that is probably personal preference. The inside was very cute and the staff was nice.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing service, delicious food and good cocktails.
We did a surprise 40th birthday party. The staff took great care of us.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointed in the quality of the kubeh.
A modge lodge of random dishes, not authentic at all to Jerusalem or nearby areas. If you are looking for authentic kebeh and middle eastern cusine try Ayat in the city. Their kibeh, tabouli and humus is authentically made just like in the holy land.
Be the first to ReplyVery good apps.
We were seated at the bar and had a great time. Good deals during restaurant week
Be the first to ReplyI was really curious to try out this spot.
The cuisine is middle eastern inspired, with Persian and Syrian dishes. There were also touches of middle eastern decor throughout the restaurant (see photos). The name of the restaurant (Kubeh) refers to the dish the restaurant is known for which is a soup with boiled beef dumplings in a broth. They also serve fried Kubeh (like kibbeh served in nearby regions). Having grown up eating a similar Dominican food called Quipe or Kipe (fried bulgar balls stuffed with ground beef), I can appreciate the parallels.I didn't have the Kubeh soup (I had read from reviews the broth is very bland) although the beet broth version looked very striking from the pictures online. However, I did have the fried Kubeh which was very tasty and the warm cauliflower. The fried Kubeh was light, not too heavy, and it had pine nuts inside. The warm cauliflower was filling and crispy and came with tahini sauce. I only had these two small plates which was enough for me. My two friends ordered the Mejadara ( a vegetable rice dish), the mushroom Kubeh soup and the hanger steak. They said the soup was healthy tasting but not too flavorful. The hanger steak was very good but the Majara was way over cooked and not good. When we told the waitress about the rice, she immediately apologized and offered to change out the meal. When my friend said he was already full, she offered him dessert instead, which was gracious and appreciated. They got the saffron ice cream which they really enjoyed. For a Sunday evening, the restaurant was pretty full. There was actually a famous couple dining next to us, but they were discrete and with their family. Overall, the food was unique and wholesome. It looks like some dishes are better than others though and the quality is not uniform.

I feel it often seems wearisome and petty and selfish to hear people bitch about poor service. We all know it's a hard and oft-underappreciated job. So I'm just going to say that we sat down here at 8pm and got served our food at 9:29 (which I know specifically because we set a 9:30 deadline for just walking out). Our party of three sat at the end of a long communal table on a full but not insanely crowded night. We each ordered a glass of wine and a shared appetizer. One glass came out wrong, but no harm, we placed our dinner order with the waiter, all in normal time. Then we waited, and waited...We were having a nice chat catching up, but all at once we realized it had been a while--probably didn't help that the spot next to us cleared, was reseated, and the couple moved through apps to dinner all while we couldn't even spot out waiter to ask for an update. We eventually did and got an "any minute" and here's where things got weird. Another 10-15 minutes passed. My friend went to speak to the hostess, Betsy, and we could eventually see some stirring in the kitchen. When the waiter finally reappeared he totally threw the kitchen under the bus, claiming it was "all their fault and they were making him look bad." Even if this was true, it just felt unprofessional and selfish, and in poor taste. I will say the food was mostly solid to good. We split the beet, feta and pistachio salad, and I rather enjoyed my beet kubeh. My friends' dishes (hanger steak, chicken schnitzel) were a bit less successful according to them. Absent the other issues it'd be someplace I'd probably say was fine (if not quite a rave), good enough for to overlook some delays. But this was just too egregious--while I appreciated the food, I was really too tired/hungry to truly enjoy my meal. I will also say the team did make an effort to make amends. There was a bit of confusion in that I thought the hostess, Betsy, said they'd comp us another round of drinks, but what they did was remove the drinks from our bill (which was nice, though I could have used another after all that time!) They also brought us comp desert--we were tired and not exactly in the mood for that (again, would have preferred the second round) but figured we kind of deserved it (asked for the check with dessert!) I found the baklava too sweet, but the Turkish coffee ice cream was really something--really tasted like coffee, not like a sickly-sweet latte like your standard coffee ice cream. I hate giving one star but I just can't fathom going back--or recommending to anyone--after such an extensive, strange, never quite explained delay.
Be the first to ReplyI love, love, love this restaurant.
I started coming here when they first opened and for breakfast (they used to open a lot earlier than they currently do). Honestly, everything on the menu is delicious and flavorful; it just depends what you're looking for. i do have a lot of dietary restrictions - and they used to be much more accommodating at swapping things out that I couldn't have, but this has changed over time. I look forward to the day when they re-introduce some of the original menu items as well as continue to try new things. Also, I'm hoping that eventually, they start to serve early breakfast again. As a local, I used to enjoy chatting with the owner and staff who were very friendly. As they appear to have grown and gained notice as a place with excellent food, a lot of the staff has changed, and the new team doesn't seem to have the same relationship with customers as they used to. i'm hoping this is just growing pains and a superb local restaurant doesn't turn too commercial.
Be the first to ReplyCame here for restaurant week and ordered 3 tasting menus.
Super cute restaurant with great ambiance but likely will not come back to eat here. Lamb definitely the best dish, but wouldn't say it was anything too special. We were excited to try to swordsfish but it ended up being a little tough and dry. We also tried the chicken shawarma bowl which was good, but not necessarily that much better than your typical halal cart for the price. Overall, we were all glad we tried it and enjoyed our time dining here but deemed it's not worth to try again for the price and were a little underwhelmed by the food.

So freaking good! Came here for a brunch with a friend and hostess was super sweet! Service was fast and everything was delicious. The eggplant was my fave. All the seasonings and sauce went really well together. I'd order it over and over. The potato Bureka was also good! I'd love to enjoy that for breakfast some time. Halumi platters were excellent as well. I was obsessed with the tomato sauce in the middle. I was dipping pita in it and just scooping it out on its own. I'd just say I wish the bottom of the plate wasn't watery.. it didn't change the taste of anything but it was more of a texture thing. The kanafe dessert super interesting. It's the first time I've ever had it. Nothing to compare to. Also! Kubeh has amazing coffee. Now you know!

Food is pretty good with lots of vegetarian and some vegan options. I really like the burekas but wish it is crispier. The haloumi cheese is a little too sweet from the honey on its own, but goes well with the pita and hummus. We try 2 different pitas, and the zahtar one is fluffier and has more seasoning, but I prefer the normal pita more. The shawarma plate is really good too. The restaurant week price is pretty reasonable, def give it a try.
Be the first to ReplyI was SO excited for this place.
Maroc Kube is one of my favorite foods, and making this dish together with my Kurdish mil is the only way we can communicate in the absence of a shared language. What I was served at Kubeh was a far cry from the richly spiced bitter sour selek soup I'm familiar with. These kube totally lacked flavor, the beef filling just bland and boring. The broth tasted like the water I boil beets in that I drain away. The actual beets in the broth were undercooked, and the whole bowl was lacking flavor and depth. We ordered a plate of shawarma that did taste good, but for 28 bucks is obscene. It didn't even come with a piece of pita. The staff was the only good thing about the place. Lovely people. If you want the real deal short of a trip to the Machne Yehuda market in Jerusalem, head out to Kings Highway in Brooklyn. Not many of the places there make the Kube Soup, but the other offerings like bamia (stewed baby okra) in that rich lemony sauce are way closer. And bonus! It will be a fraction of the price.

Came here for restaurant week recently, and although the whole experience was slightly on the pricier side, it was so worth it! Food was incredible and the service was phenomenal. Our waitress's name started with a D (so sorry I forgot!!) and she was so sweet. Would def come back just for the vibes

Walking by, the menu looked good, no make that great! Then I saw the magic ingredient, "Gluten free Pita!" Hummus and Labneh really need a scoop, so this makes it complete!I made a mental bookmark to come back for lunch on a sunny day.Friday was it! I work about 10 blocks away, the sun was out and I was hungry. Some arithmetic said that if I walk it in 10 minutes, I've got a reasonable amount of time to really enjoy a good meal.I walk the walk, I get seated in a really lovely dining area, choose from the menu and wait several minutes for service. As I tell the server my order, I see 'the look'"Mezze platter with gluten free Pita, and...""Oh, so sorry (here's the look) we don't have gluten free pita.""Do you regularly have it?""No, we haven't had it for a few days..."Ok. Wasted time due to a bait and switch. I'm done.I've got just enough time to walk quickly back to work and stop at Think Coffee to pick up their GF Avocado toast and coffee. Thankfully some businesses take inclusivity and integrity of their menu responsibly, just not Kubeh.Kubeh, don't F around with people's dietary restrictions.Update/response to the owner. Explanations, excuses and "you can have..." (that's the switch in bait and switch) are not apologies. Really poor attitude, your response just reinforces the negative first impression you made. divethru.com/worst-non-aโฆ

Kubeh is a cute, lively Mediterranean restaurant in the village. We went for a Friday night dinner during winter restaurant week, so we were able to sample appetizers, mains, and dessert! The food was delicious! In particular the seared halloumi with rosemary honey was amazing. Definitely the best thing we tried! We also had a trio of dips (hummus, labneh, and muhammara), Kurdish siske Kubeh, Mejadara, and warm brownie sundae dessert! The Kubeh is the signature dish, and it is a meat filled dumpling in a broth. The only negative was that they were out of gluten free pita! But they had lots of gluten free dishes, including a chocolate brownie and chocolate date bar. The mejadara was also gluten free, but it was very cinnamon-y and wasn't quite to my tastes, but if you like cinnamon then you will love it!Our servers were attentive and were always making sure that we had everything we needed. When our dips arrived, we asked if they had any cruditรฉ available to dip with and it arrived super quickly! Additionally, we were sat right next to the door and it was chilly, but when we asked our server they were able to move us to a warmer table. So nice!Highly recommend for a date night or fun dinner with friends! There was a large table in the middle, so it could be a great option for large groups too!

Everything is fresh, wholesome. Vegetarian and meat, great choices for both. Unusual menus, 6 types of humus, an amazing eggplant appetizer with tahini and pomegranate ย with delicious vinaigrette.,Could be a nice date night or just all occasion dining. Decor inside is very pretty, sidewalk dinning was closed st lunch but looked very nice. I forgot to mention the super friendly greeting we received snd the excellent service. A great place!

Food was amazing! We went for brunch and it was so filling no one ate dinner that evening. We ordered several dips, falafel, eggplant, cheese, olives and shared as a table. Can't wait for our next visit!

Really great and friendly service from everyone, but very average and underwhelming food. Everything tasted stale like they reheated it. We had the beef dumpling soup , halloumi cheese and sweet potato. We were still hungry to order more but after 3 plates we decided not to risk spending more money on more subpar food.
Be the first to ReplyRUDE AND OBNOXIOUS HOST AND WAIT STAFF.
..unwelcoming and unprofessional...would not waste time or money here unless you crave an unpleasant dining experience...btw...we never got to the dining part because the staff was sooo pretentiously rude we left...our city has too many other wonderful dining options to waste time in this toxic place.
