La Chaumiere Dole Reviews from The Last Year
Will not be a favourite hotel of mine...
We stayed overnight en route from Switzerland to the Charente and had expected a wonderful experience; far from it...We were greeted by a reasonably friendly lady who showed us to the bottom of the stairs (was it too much to go to the room?). The room was down the end of a corridor with the most unpleasant smell of plastic in the corridor. We were surprised at how small the room was - there was little space to move and it was furnished in a most gaudy way with a hideous red plastic headboard and ugly huge light. The shower had not been cleaned for months and a wipe with the towel showed black dirt all in the tiles and corners. The WC was a small poky room, walls painted in dull light brown. We asked to see the menu before reserving a table and we were glad that we did as it was 149€ per person. We understand that this restaurant is a one star Michelin but they should cater for people who just want a basic meal. We slept ok despite the noise of doors banging in the evening. In the morning we opted for the hotel's breakfast; this was served to us at our table. It consisted of an undercooked boiled egg (described as being slow cooked) watery juice, a basket of 2 pieces of bread and dry sweet bread, 2 jams, 2 yoghurts, pot of sugary stewed apple and darjeeling tea (breakfast tea unavailable). There was no fresh fruit, croissants or pastries, no cheese or ham and no cereals. We were given no choice at all and not offered a second cup of tea. Price for breakfast was 14€ each. I could have had a better breakfast visiting the boulangerie! Positives were that our little dog was able to stay with us (at a supplement) and they did eventually found a plug adaptor for me so I could charge my toothbrush. There is plenty of parking available at the property. The accommodation is set back from the road, so quite quiet. The pretty town of Dole is a drive away, not possible to walk but plenty of parking available there unless the circus and fair is in town!
Good address
Spacious room with a mix of designer and antique furniture. Not always well tuned. We did not eat at the restaurant but just had breakfast which was plentiful with almost all local products. Staff. Didn't see a swimming pool
a very pleasant stay
very pretty and clean room with refrigerator, large swimming pool, excellent cuisine created by Mr. Joel Césari, good wines
Very disappointed, there are better on Dole!
This hotel can undoubtedly amaze those who are not very used to staying in classy establishments, but thanks to our numerous stays with their colleagues and competitors, we feel that we can afford to make major drawbacks. Complicated reservation: a first tel. not taken into account, a 2nd followed by an unconvincing exchange of emails, no message from them before our arrival = follow-up and communication not at the top. At reception, we are given the key with directions to the mazes of the hotel and get on with it. It would therefore be good to remove the Châteaux & Hotels logo (a chain which no longer exists), and in any case, even in a nice "only" 3***, we are accompanied to the room. A cleaning product was lying on the chair when we arrived. Wifi not working and despite our request to the owner, no one took care of it, we spent our stay going out into the corridor to be connected! What service... Breakfast: nothing but sweetness for a salty price! Apple juice + applesauce (this lack of diversity is incomprehensible), no way to have a squeezed orange in the middle of winter to replace the apple juice nor a fresh fruit salad to replace the compote, 2 yogurts (no choice of perfumes), jam. Bun. Just an egg to get rid of all that sweetness because the mini-slat of butter is not enough to spread the bread which is in quantity but we wonder what to eat it with! Bosses were absent when we left, so we were unable to express our disappointment to them. We sent an email when we returned. No response from them. This is why we are allowing ourselves to post this negative review.
A modern hotel, an old-fashioned welcome
Although located away from the center, the hotel is very pleasant and its staff are absolutely charming. Excellent stay. However, we would dream that such quality could be found in a more traditional building, which would be a real showcase.
Excellent overnight stay for small families
We had an overnight stop in this charming hotel on our way to the Alps. A friendly welcome at the reception, and we were shown our room, which was quite small for 4, but we did not really need more. The kids bed was an ingenious bunk bed extracted from a sofa. As we did not book the restaurant, we were told it was full, and we were proposed ham and cheese platters. The kids preferred going to a nearby restaurant. While going back down to leave, we stumbled across the Chef, and we had a pleasant chat with him. He convinced us effortlessly to have the platters, and we were seated at a terrace near the pool. The dinner was really nice, and it was truly the first evening of the holidays. And again the Chef paid us a visit, not only for the traditional 'Is everything all right?', but to chat. The next morning we had a served breakfast, which was excellent. I give this hotel only a 4* rating, as the rooms could be a bit larger, and while booking (directly with them), I really had trouble getting in touch, be it by e-mail or afterwards by phone. Overall, a very good impression, good location, friendly staff, good food - we will be back at the next opportunity.
THANKS!
A delicious lunch in a very pleasant, neat and clean setting, and above all a very considerate, attentive and extremely kind welcome. Special mention for the lobster and the apricot and hazelnut grumble… Thank you so much! An address to recommend…

That's what AT sponsorships are for - and you are only paying 25% in the first year and then less in year two and three.
I beliebe @EternalAnt36 was sponsored by @PerceptiveWash44 and is now doing $25k/mo.
You can write on the top sellers profiles (type 'Top 10' in the searchbar) and then tap request sponsorship button after you found the guy or gal like to work with!
