😒 3/5 - I enjoyed the sophisticated space - a long rectangular

I enjoyed the sophisticated space - a long rectangular restaurant with high arched ceilings and unique clusters of lights. It created a nice atmosphere, and I don't know how they managed to keep the sound to a reasonable level on a Saturday night in which the restaurant was completely full (reservations recommended). The bread provided at the onset was very good and plentiful. The rye was particularly good. Began with the veal two ways appetizer - carpaccio and tartare. It came with a lot of carrots. The tartare needed more flavor, especially just some salt. It would have also have been better if it were served on a crispy cracker or bread. One entree was the veal with dumplings and asparagus. It could have used more asparagus; it was perhaps just one stalk cut up into small pieces. The dumplings were interesting and the veal was well prepared and tasty, but it was still missing something - like a jus or gravy to help bring the dish together and make it sing. The other entree was the venison (deer). There were two pieces of loin and steak. The loin was particularly good, although all the pieces were rather small. It came with some grilled salad greens that were covered in too much balsamic sauce, along with a large bread dumpling that was surprisingly filled with shredded venison. The shredded deer was fairly tasty but a bit dry, so the bread helped. Began with the Gruner Veltliner Terrassen, which was very tart, and the Gruner Veltliner Federspiel Treu, which was minerally. Both were way too cold. Then we tried the Zweigelt Hauslinie, which was a bit too light for the meal, and the Blaufrankish Samt & Seide. For dessert we had the St. Laurent Classic which was the best (it did have rather high acidity) and the Cuvee Heideboden, which was earthy and the heaviest of the wines. All of this was 110 euros.
