Ordinary food
In Time Out markets the marinated octopus and the veal and beef croquettes were ordinary. The custard tart was very good.

The food was great and the wonderful lady Mara guided us through the menu patiently, while explaining what would be ideal for those trying Portuguese food for the first time.
Be the first to ReplyUma historia portuguesa em Dubai
Lana Lusa is one of the few restaurants if not the only in Dubai that has a very good representation of the Portuguese cuisine. A large variety of home made flavours covering all dietary options. From our side we wanted to explore the appetizers rather than sticking into one main course. We were very pleased to see that the beef, chicken, mussels and cod fish were awakening old memories. The ambience of the restaurant was very pleasant and there was live bossa nova music. If i could only complain about something is that the prices were a bit high for a Portuguese restaurant that does not serve alcohol but it didn’t bother me a lot. You should definitely try it and let me know!
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful spot with fantastic food
We stumbled over this place while walking - we liked the interior. I highly recommend it. Food is fantastic, and the service is super nice. Drinks are also yummy. Best Pastéis de Nata we had outside of Portugal.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent
Lana Lusa is a Portuguese concept. colourful ceramic plates sourced directly from potters in Barcelos to the burnished copper light fixtures and cork-fashioned menus from Porto, guests feel whisked away to a stylish neighbourhood café in Portugal. The menu is geared towards big dishes so best shared across the table. Food is full of flavour with proper balance and very good text.
Be the first to ReplyNot worth it
It is not in any sense what you would expect from a Portuguese cuisine representative in Dubai. The decor, the ambience and the patio are just OK and so is the service. Nothing great. While the ingredients were generally not bad, everything I tasted was at best mediocre. The fried cod was marginally OK, the fried meat croquette was not really good. We took a salad topped with goat cheese that was also just ok and the garlic shrimps that were not bad. As a matter of fact I would consider these poor shrimps the best we ate all night. The shrimp and spinach spaghetti was very heavy on the salt and had no sauce at all. Even drier than that was the octopus which was served with some crushed potatoes to laugh at. Last but not least the seafood rice was just edible. I like the area a lot and came to the restaurant with expectations that were not met. Also while the nominal prices are not ultra high, if you consider the small portions then it is not cheap at all. If you ask me it does not worth it, I do not recommend it and I will not go again.
Be the first to ReplyLovely Escape from Dubai
I visited Lana Lusa with a group of friends who wanted to surprise us for our birthdays. From when we entered the restaurant, we were very, very warmly greeted and taken care of by Nasser. The restaurant's decor and lighting was immaculate, and I could not stop taking pictures of everything. We enjoyed the food, and my personal favorites were the duck rice and the range of starters we ordered - beef/veal croquettes, cod/potato croquettes, and the potato/egg salad (they have much more elegant names on the menu, but I couldn't remember them when writing this review). Again, Nasser was a wonderful host and made us feel very welcome. He was quite patient and accommodating, taking as many photos of us as we requested and making sure we had a good time. Although I do not mind being asked to write a review at all, no one asked us to leave a review here. The fact that this was done purely out of our satisfaction should speak volumes of the establishment's merit. Thank you all for your wonderful hospitality and memorable dining experience. I will be back!
Be the first to ReplyBest tart in town
Went there for brunch and would rather recommend there tarts! Brunch is also not bad but the tart is the best in town! Can’t miss it!
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing
Visited Lana Lusa with friends and unfortunately I must say that I was a bit disappointed. The restaurants AC was not working properly which they forgot to mention when we booked, when we arrived we had an AC unit pointed right at our table, bothersome as we has our napkins flying and the noise was a bit disturbing. The restaurant was hot and felt a bit stuffy. Food portions were decent, the flavors were there but a bit too oily for me. Their dessert, Pastel de Nata was excellent, probably the one thing I would love to go back and eat with a nice coffe.
Be the first to ReplyA little Portuguese gem made all the more special by our waiter Roy!
We have walked passed Lana Lusa many times but never tried it. Tonight we did and we loved it! The interiors are gorgeous and the food was delicious with really good fresh ingredients.
Our waiter, Roy, was so lovely and looked after us very well which made our experience all the more special. He really knew how to look after us given all our intolerances so some ingredients.
It is a little pricey but worth it if you want a fancy date night!
Ps the pastel de Nata is delicious!
Exceptional!
Absolutely amazing place, food and most importantly people. Special thank you to Frederico, Imtiaz and the manager for giving me an exceptionally amazing experience! A place you must definitely visit!
Be the first to ReplyBest octopus I’ve had outside of Portugal
Visited Lana Lusa after reading an online review. Portuguese is one of my favourite cuisines and when I saw the recommendation I knew I had to visit.
I had the grilled octopus which was served with plenty of garlic on a bed of two potatoes. It was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. Also provided was complimentary olives and some bread. Service was very good. The several waiters I spoke to were very friendly and the manager even came over to speak to me whilst I was waiting for a taxi home to thank me for my custom.
I try to visit Dubai at least once a year and I have been building a list of my must-visit restaurants on every trip and Lana Lusa has well and truly cemented itself on that list. Hopefully it won’t be a year until I can go back
Amazing place
Been here a couple of times and my husband and I love it. Its on the pricier side for regular folk. but solid service and delishious food. Would definitely recommend . Food is outstanding, from salads to desserts. I am in love. For sure will come back.
