Lapa Lapa Porto Reviews
Surprisingly original and delicious salad
Lovely views, of course- and food is really nice! Surprisingly original quinoa salad that was so delicious, I want to try to replicate it at home! Service was excellent, and despite it being a pretty busy day, I was served quickly, but not rushed to leave. Recommend highly!
Luis at Lapa Lapa restaurante
This restaurant has an a incredible setting right on the beach. The menu was great with plenty of choice. Our waiter, Luis was really helpful on choices and as there were six of us advised on extra dishes so we had plenty to eat. He was amazing and introduced us to the local wines which we enjoyed very much. Well Done Luis - keep making your jewellery as well!! 👍Paul Q
Diabolical
Walked past and food looked great so we asked for a table. We were told 15 minutes for inside so go and sit outside (drinks and lunch menu only which is to the side of the restaurant) and we will call you. 40 minutes later my husband chased and was told 2 minutes. 15 minutes later an irate me went inside and was told I will sit you down now. She sat me down directly outside apologizing profusely. Waiter came up and offered us the outside snack menu only. Absolutely diabolical. I’m now spending my money next door (which wasn’t open when we first turned up). The waiter is kind, knowledgable and attentive and I will post my review once I’ve finished.
Average
Lapa Lapa is a beautiful restaurant by the ocean. Even though our expectations were pretty high, the food we got (Lunch menu was served till 14.00 i think, they had another menu between the hours 14.00-19.00 or sth like that) was average at least. The food was pretty"boring"and not tasty. Maybe the menu that was offered was more of a "snacking" kind rather than a proper lunch menu. Its was a bit dissapointing.. the atmosphere though was beautiful and the stuff very helpful and kind. I could say that its worth trying even though we were not pleased by it!
Sitting close to the ocean with a great view of the sunset. If your looking for seafood you found it. Bon appétit.
Great service and great food from the appetizers to the dessert. We took friends out to dinner and it was a great evening.
We were asked to leave the table
We were asked to leave our table suddenly. They said that other guests come, although we had a dinner on more than 120 euro and a lot of tables were free

One star that's all this restaurant qualifies for and that's for the location along the beautiful beach front. The menu says I'm the Chef and I have a huge ego also the little warnings after every menu item should say it all. I rarely post this much negative I work as a Professional Chef in the USA so don't like to be toxic. But No need to make excuses for your poor execution of the food you cook as well serve your paying customers. The dinning room is a mix of jungle and beach with an ikea flare. I did see a server but again thats not the focus. Won't go back until a Kraken wave remakes the place. Anywhere I say keep walking.

The view (right on the beach) is spectacular!!! The shrimp dishes were really well made and delicious. We had two different pasta dishes that were also very good. The waiters were very hood. The hostess not do much. The first time we went she said we could sit but needed to be done in an hour. The second time (lunch) she ignored us till she was done texting about three minutes. Good view and food and location and hood service with the exception of the hostess. Almost walked away - unacceptable at any other restaurant.
Rudest hostess I've ever seen.
Tried to get her attention several times and she was clearly ignoring me. When I finally walked up to her, I asked her for a table outside. She offered us one in the direct sun and when I asked about the empty one in the shade, she said "it's booked" with a bit of an attitude. Usually a host/hostess will apologize and try to accommodate. Clearly gave us the vibe we weren't welcome.
Great food, great price, beautiful view, friendly staff!
We couldn't have asked for a better restaurant to celebrate my boyfriend's 40th birthday than Lapa Lapa. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodated a little surprise dessert brownie with a candle for my boyfriend. The food is so fresh and delicious and the drinks are very reasonably priced. We LOVED the house wine, especially the red. The environment is cosy, chic, rustic and by the beach. In the evening, it is beautifully illuminated. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a low key, special and cosy night.
