Outstanding Basque French restaurant
If you want to eat basque pork dishes in Tokyo, this is highly recommended. It is a small shop, cuisine, service, atmosphere, customer base, and madam's service are the best.
Pork dishes are excellent, also fish soup and gateau basque too.
豚肉料理が美味しいのは勿論ですが魚のスープとガトー・バスクは欠かせません。お店の雰囲気と客層、マダムのサービスが食事を楽しいものにしてくれます。
La-la-la-la-Lauburu!
We love to eat and we love pork. But we have never been to a restaurant that elevated the heretofore lowly pork to such gastronomic delight. The restaurant is at the end of a lonely alley; the interiors is nothing to rave about (but very comfy and cozy); the menu manageable and the wine list eclectic. But the food, ah, the food! You know how we say we like hearty food, using "hearty" as a satisfying replacement for gourmet and fine? The dishes at Lauburu were all the above, and some. Good Japanese food in Tokyo is a no-brainer. To find a restaurant like Lauburu in Tokyo is, well, a find!

We lived in Tokyo for 4 years and felt really lucky to have this restaurant as our favorite. The dishes are rich and masculine, with a focus on pork. The restaurant has a Michelin star. Never had anything I didn't like here and the wines are also reasonably-priced and good. If you get a chance try the galette. Make sure to put the address into your phone or print out a map, as it is in a small alley in Aoyama, around the corner from the Blue Note and a little hard to find. Will make a point to go every time I return to Tokyo. Enjoy!
