The place is recommended in most restaurant's guides, in all languages, as a real French Bistrot, and obviously attract tourists, mostly Americans. In fact, you won't see many locals...The food is OK, (no Michelin stars), but definitely overpriced to the point that you feel taken advantage from. 32 Euros ($36) for a soft boiled egg with a hint of truffle oil, as an appetizer. Main courses are around 48 to 52 Euros ($55 to $60), and more for steacks. Indeed, the wine list is very rich, the waiters are nice and the service is good. It is always crowded, even for lunch, and a reservation is necessary and recommended. If you don't care to overpay...
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding in every respect.
We had to adjust our reservation at the last minute; they were very accommodating. The service was professional and courteous. Our waitress was very helpful in interpreting and explaining the menu, which was entirely in French. She was also very knowledgeable about the wine list, which is exceptional and reasonably priced, especially for Burgundy lovers.

We really wanted to get in for dinner and we're disappointed. We only were able to acquire lunch reservations, but that disappointment ended with the first course. All of it I mean, all of it was absolutely amazing. We had a really great server, and as you can see by the photos below the food was outstanding. I highly recommend if you're in Paris, that you try to get a reservation at this place, the wine list looks like a Bible absolutely outstanding .

The person handling reservations and phone inquiries displayed a high level of rudeness, resulting in poor service. This was particularly disappointing considering the recommendation from a friend.
Be the first to ReplyWas so excited to try this place.
It really was just okay. I don't see what the fuss is about. I live in the SF Bay Area and eat out often. This place just didn't do it for me. Nice enough ambience. Great staff. Good wine. Fantastic neighborhood. But very expensive and food lacked in flavor. Sad.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was very delicious! Service was fast and on point.
The ambience was perfect, we sat inside.

We had made a reservation far in advance and they wanted to place us at a bar counter in the back room. Not a good start. We were able to move to a better real table with a time condition. They proceeded to hand us a menu the size of a dictionary with a smirk knowing we were foreigners and would probably want the house wine. My meat came raw which I had ordered medium, the tiny salad that came with it had bad leaves in it . The waiters were rushing around as if they couldn't be bothered. It was everything I feared about old time french bistro eating. It was actually a cliche. No artistry, no warmth, just a big price tag. I couldn't wait to leave!

They have special #polmard #beef that's super tender and delicious. They change their menu frequently, so there is always something new to try. They also have an amazing #winelist . If your ever in Paris, make a reservation at @le_bon_georges and you won't be disappointed. @le_bon_georges @food__gallery.ig #parisfood #pariseats #parisrestaurant #foodie #foodstagram #foodiesofinstagram #willtravelforfood #livingmybestlife #frenchwine #frenchfood

We had a wonderful experience at Le Bon Georges! The service, the food and the atmosphere were all top notch. The menu changes daily and is written on a chalkboard. The waiter will happily translate to English for you. Be sure to reserve ahead! It's popular!

We enjoyed this cafe but I can't think of anything particularly wonderful about it. The food is okay and a bit overpriced. Service was wondering I thought the chocolate mousse was overrated

I saw this place in a Japanese persons YouTube video and it looked so good that I had to visit. It was an amazing lunch we had. I had the steak Hache which is like a hamburger steak but it was a corse ground beef. This was so good and I really enjoyed it, ever since I've checked at many restaurants for this steak hache but it's been only for kids. Next time I'm back, I have to try it again. Service is great, everyone is so friendly and patient. Highly recommend this place. But make sure you make a reservation especially for dinner.

Our friend recommended this place, so we decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately, we didn't have reservations, but they did have one table available outside the door so we sat down. The table was great for people watching and savoring the moments. The food was amazing. We had a fish and steak dish. Both well appointed and service was fairly attentive. The food is on the heavier side, so order accordingly.

We love this charming, very French small restaurant for its ambiance, delicious food, wonderful service and excellent wine selection.
Be the first to ReplyCharming French bistro with neighborhood charm.
Of course I got their beef tartar served with salad, and frites. Fries were perfectly seasoned. The tartar itself is excellent, but probably not what you would come to expect from a classic French tartar. I think they focus on higher quality ingredients giving the higher price points compared to their peers. The beef came simply seasoned with salt and pepper....nothing else. The freshness of the beef really rang true, but if you were expecting the usual creaminess from a beaten egg yolk, or the slight tanginess coming from Worcestershire sauce, or any textural bites of sour pickles... this won't be it for you. Service was good and they give excellent wine selections. I just wish the tartar came with the options to add some modification...perhaps some condiments on the side if one so chose.

Seduced by cute website and some enthusiastic reviews, I reserved an outdoor table over a month ahead, so was surprised to arrive and have the host say it wasn't available. I showed him the email confirmation and he shrugged, suggesting we eat inside. When I resisted, he had a hissy fit, prancing around and yelling that I'd raised my voice. He did a quick reversal and sat us outside, where there were around 10 empty tables that remained so for well over an hour. The setting was lovely, but the food didn't compare to what we'd had at similarly-priced (even cheaper) bistros during our many trips to Paris. I emailed the owner to advise him of our experience. He called and said their tables are reserved well in advance, but didn't explain why he'd sent a confirmation if they were already booked. As for the empty tables, he told me the customers came later than expected (all 10 tables?). He didn't agree to waive the cost of the meal, which I'd suggested. I wrote again to say what he'd told me didn't feel credible, offering him a chance to do better, but got no response. He routinely responds to negative reviews with a lengthy attack, so maybe I will hear from him.
Be the first to ReplyOne of my favorite "French" restaurants in Paris.
Located in the 9th arrondissement, off the beaten path.....the most delicious takes on the classics.I love the servers who are also trained sommeliers. The wine list is top notch, and if you are a meat lover, this is your place (though I eat fish!).We love Arnaud and the rest of the staff, and we go twice a year on our trips to Paris.I highly recommend.....the place is SPECIAL.

The restaurant is super cozy and comfortable with inside and outside dining. I received a confirmation from the restaurant for my reservation. When I arrived, I was told I was in a waiting list and to "reread the email." I indeed had a confirmation and was given a seat. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff and owner are very nice. The food was good. The wine list has over 2000 offerings. The staff is very knowledgeable about wines. I wish the by-the-glass options where better and had more options. Great place for family, couples, or friends. The butternut soup was delicious but could have been warmer. The scallops where seared to perfection. The tartelette chocolat was yummy. The restaurant is a block from the St. Georges Métro stop. Santé!
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding little spot.
Potato salad with Foie Gras and black truffles was amazing.
Be the first to Replyone of the better meals of the trip.
definitely the best lunch. shared a bottle of wine, big selection. wife loved the soup (something w beef?), i had a leek app that had a bunch of citrus which was great. shepherd's pie with bone marrow was very rich and savory. hit the spot. had the fancy ground beef cooked blue (server said they only cook blue or rare). really enjoyed it. i will say that the bread here isn't as good as other spots, but who really cares. great service. server was funny, and translated entire menu to english before we had the chance to even ask one question.

Old-school, classic French restaurant that is a master of everything. Very busy -- avoid peak times if you can, but find a way to get here. Order from the board (the daily menu) -- they know what's fresh, what's good, and what they are good at. It's all in French but they will help you if you're French-impaired. This won't help you (since the menu varies) but we had a tomato salad garnished with big truffle slices (maybe my least favorite since the truffles were bland); a lovely duck terrine with apricots; roast chicken (trust me, this does not "taste like chicken"; a fish dish, and a clafouti for dessert. Order boldly, with abandon; these people know how to make magic.

I accidentally booked for the wrong date initially and had to cancel the reservation. Thankfully, the concierge at our hotel was able to get us a reservation at a bar high top table. The place was completely full by the end of our meal; so, we felt luck to get a bar table which was actually a large high top table that we shared with one other party. We started with the charcuterie and mushrooms with bacon. Both were excellent. For entrees we had the chop steak (like a burger) and lamb with sides of carrots and fries, respectively. Really delicious. Very well balanced flavors. Fun atmosphere. Excellent service--they read us the menu in English.

It was as good as I remembered. Great dinner, great wine list, and great service. Get a reservation as there is limited seating. We were there at 7PM and they were turning away people as no tables were available.
Be the first to ReplyWe had a remarkable experience here.
The wait staff was knowledgeable and helpful when it came to pairing wines with cheese and our mains. They are known for their meat selection which is absolutely amazing. Our concierge recommended them to us and we are so grateful she did! And it won't break the bank! 10/10

Great atmosphere, but unfortunately the food was awful, I don't understand it? Almost inedible. And paid $150 euro to boot!
Be the first to ReplyThis was hands down the best meal I had in Paris.
The restaurant itself is a small, unpretentious bistro with tables very close together. The waitstaff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The menu is in French with no English version, but the waiters spoke English and were very helpful translating (I don't speak any French). To start, I had the cream of leek soup. This may have been the best soup I've ever had. It had homemade mini gnocchis and goat cheese and a leek soup was poured over it. It was really incredible. For my main I had the chicken which was rolled with mushroom and had a mushroom sauce over mashed potatoes. This was also incredible. My mom had the trout and loved it. For drinks we both had wine and enjoyed it. The wine list is extensive with a ton of options by the glass. The price was reasonable enough especially for the amazing food. I would highly recommend and will be back the next time I am in Paris!
