Le Christine. Paris Reviews from The Last Year
Great date night dinner for our honeymoon
Absolutely delicious dinner - the best asparagus dish my husband and I have ever had! We did the tasting with wine pairing, and it was a fun and enjoyable experience. Wonderful staff and very pleasant and cozy environment.

What didn't go well?? The food at least the 5 course is amazing. The wine pairing is beyond what I can explain and you get this perfect experience in terms of service, ambiance and pace of serving.
Amazing
Good food, good service etc a nice space. We had the five course tasting menu and each course was better than the last. We will come back.
& The Queen
Friendly setting in a street full of history. Excellent welcome and quality cuisine without being exceptional. The pleasant surprise is the sommelier, as friendly as she is competent. We gave him carte blanche and we were right.
10 year Anniversary we will never forget!
We had an amazing experience! We put ourselves in the hands of the Chefs and staff with the 6 course tasting menu and wine pairing. We couldn’t have been more pleased! We celebrated our 10th anniversary, and on our next trip to Paris this will be our first reservation made!
One of the best restaurant visits of our lives
We had one of the best restaurant visits of our lives. The restaurant looks very inconspicuous from the outside. The interior is very nice and cosy. Service is professional and courteous. We opted for the 'experience' where you don't know what to expect. You then get several courses which are very varied. All the food was excellent! If you have any allergies, you can tell them and the dishes are adapted. The price is also reasonable. Highly recommended!
This restaurant is a golden nugget!
It’s a delight for our taste buds!! We loved it and the staff are very professional and very helpful! Come discover !
In the 🌟...
Dinner at chef Mehdi BENCHEIKH's restaurant will clearly transport you to the stars (and deserve one by the way)... The chef, who has been frequenting (with our mutual friend Yannick whom I greet in Japan...) the starred restaurants for a long time, is faultless here... Its cuisine, the place, its entire team, very professional and efficient, its dishes (divine... see the photos...)... everything is perfect. And, I'm not telling you anything, taste, salivate, take pleasure in each dish, in each sip of the very brilliantly recommended wine... no photo can convey that to you... Only one way to experience this feeling 😊😊
Very nice
We had a very nice evening. The tasting menu was very good, it widened the view. Also the wine pairing and even the background music fits our taste. The staff was also very nice.
Wonderful experience
Wonderful service excellent food. A place to come back to We were four - different ages and different tastes- all of us were very happy
Wonderful way to celebrate my husband’s birthday
We had the 5 course tasting menu and every course was a taste sensation and beautifully presented. Very attentive and friendly service, too. We also had the wine pairing arrangement, which I highly recommend.
We had a wonderful 5 course tasting menu on our first time
We had a wonderful 5 course tasting menu on our first time and first evening in Paris. The wine pairing was perfect. Our favorite tasting was the dessert. Delicious! The staff was attentive and the atmosphere was romantic. The architecture is high ceilings with Parisian charm, large arch windows and a rustic boho interior design with a mix of mediums.
Did not live up to expectations
They try too hard to live up to their declared bistronomique credentials, but fail on most counts. Over-salted veal with enoki mushrooms, a spoonful of noodles and - wait for it! - a sweet vanilla sauce; I ask you!? None of the other items on their 95 euros « gastronomique » menu, which they were pushing too hard to sell, were in any way memorable. Great choice of wine is the only aspect I could give full marks to. All in all, not even close to the high level of cooking and service of numerous charming paris bistros one can choose from.
A bizarre experience
After a friendly greeting upon arrival, we were suggested to start with champagne. After asking to see the wine list, the waiter suggested that we do a mini tasting with 2 champagnes, after which we would drink our favorite. The “sommelier” let us choose between two champagnes that were almost identical in taste. We chose one. Then we asked again for the wine list. The sommelier asked us what type of wine we had in mind and asked us what price range, starting at €200. When we indicated that we thought this was a lot of money, she dropped to €150, apparently irritated. We had a bad feeling about it, not knowing what we would get and for what price. Again we asked for the wine list. We should not have done this, she was now really angry and literally threw the wine list on the table. All evening we received sarcastic comments such as “you are the experts, aren't you?” and “you chose this wine yourself”, accompanied by rolling eyes, downright insulting and unpleasant. It certainly made our evening very memorable, in the worst sense of the word. The food is served like in a star restaurant, but lacks the finesse and taste to even come close. We had reported that one of us does not eat meat, and the alternative was a thinly sliced piece of cauliflower. Then as a chef you miss all the creativity and fun in your work. This was also visible in the burnt dish that he had served. The chef's angry look when I took a picture of it was also very intimidating. Then the bill; How much would the two glasses of champagne from their mini-tasting have cost? No less than 58 euros for 2 small glasses! The bill totaled 310 euros. Do you want to be ridiculed all evening because you want to maintain control over your own bank account? Go to le Christine. Do you want to have no idea what the wine that the “sommelier” chooses costs without an explanation as to why it suits the menu? Go to Le Christine. Do you want an expensive dinner without the feeling of satisfaction afterwards? Go to Le Christine. In short; avoid this place.
Great discovery!
Very high quality restaurant. We had the tasting menu with carefully selected wines for each dish. Amazing and delicious flavors and combinations, impeccable service, I can't wait to go back!
Superb restaurant!
Incredible dinner! The food was delicious, the staff very friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere of the restaurant is lovely. We added the wine pairing and loved every glass. The sommelier was really knowledgeable and competent. I am celiac and need to eat gluten free, they accommodated that wish very gracefully and I did not get sick. I can only recommend Le Christine to anyone who wants to have an incredible dinner experience in a cute side street in Paris. I would definitely come back!
The Christine: obligation to stop there
Here is a very nice discovery; very cozy setting, a very warm welcome as the start of a succulent meal combining originality, a successful search for the marriage of the most refined flavors. Christine demonstrates that we can be great professionals while establishing close ties without being intrusive with customers. From appetizers to dessert, it's a fireworks display of surprises and gastronomic delights. Well done and thank you to the whole team for this memorable evening where kindness punctuated with humor reigned. When I left, I had the impression of leaving an exceptional evening with friends.
Le Christine/ Paris
A fabulous evening in a very cozy Paris restaurant. The food was sublime. We had the 6 course testing menu…. A excellent value. Service was relaxed and attentive.
Great night
Particularly pleasant moment, everything was perfect: the inventive and excellent cuisine, the attentive staff, and the very cozy setting ;-) My two daughters, vegetarians, were able to benefit from a tasting menu in accordance with their choice. To recommend
What a night!
An absolute delight! (A return visit after 20 years) Decor: a really pleasing balance of luxury and simplicity. Comfortable chairs and spacious lay-out (important!) Service: super-warm; natural and enjoyable. The maitre d' and sommelier (Adrian) gave the impression they were having as much fun as we were. Wine: what a journey! Adrian really understands that when you're dining somewhere special, the wine is half the fun (if not more) and that talking over the wines and learning stuff (and trying things!) is what it's all about. (Maybe not for everyone, but certainly for us, so this was well-judged) We tried three different champagnes, before settling on two absolute stunners. (having been kindly advised of the price, which is also appreciated) Similarly, with the whites and reds by the glass: try a couple, have a chat, learn something, then get stuck in. And it's a conversation, not a lecture. Adrian seemed just as interested in our reactions, than in his own knowledge. (And don't miss the Brobdingnagian dessert wine experience....) Food: attractive, decent portions (for high end), ranged from table-smackingly delicious to 'very nice'. Recommend the scampi terrine thing. Huge flavour! Wasn't sure about the pop-rock playing at picnic volume, but we were having such a good time, we just went with it. The whole experience was a bit of a party (and we were also left alone to enjoy a romantic dinner). Bravo!
Fine but not exciting
Cute little Latin Quarter gastronomic restaurant. Took the five-course “menu degustation” prepared to be wowed and was not. It was good and reasonably creative but not exciting. The two starter courses, intended, I believe, to be “amuses bouches,” one based around celeriac, the other around butternut squash, lacked the pop one would hope for as kick-offs to a multi-course gastronomic meal. The scallop and duck dishes were both quite good but not memorable, mostly for lack of bold seasoning. Overall, a nice meal but less satisfying than solid, hearty, less expensive bistro fare.

Le Christine was recommended as a perfect spot for an anniversary dinner. It also satisfied my desire to try a starred restaurant, and even better in the heart of Paris. It was indeed a great spot for all of that. We opted for a tasting menu with the accompanying wine selections. And the meal was very much an experience. My wife is far more adventurous that I and she marveled at the tastes on offer. The location itself is in a very lovely, walkable area, close to the metro, but far enough to enjoy the stroll and journey. The restaurant is intimate, allowing for good conversation, but lively enough to not be boring. It's the perfect spot to enjoy the company of your party. The service itself was outstanding. The staff were attentive, informative and interacted with us both in English and our very amateur-level French. Overall the meal was an outstanding value and I can't think of a better place for a romantic anniversary dinner in Paris.
Lovely atmosphere and not touristy.
We had the chef menu and wine pairing, which was delicious. The waiters were very gracious and informative.
Amazing food and service.
We made a reservation in advance and absolutely enjoyed everything the chef prepared on the tasting menu, along with the most perfect wine paring options. The ambiance is very French and elegant. Everything was enjoyable and amazing. We highly recommend and will be back. Merci, Le Christine!!

Had a fantastic dinner here! Every course was beautifully presented and so delicious. The service felt a bit slow at times but not enough to take away from our experience. Servers spoke English and were very nice.

Pretty crazy, but cracking down will cost them a lot to maintain. They probably will lose the fight.

In my experience they will typically restore your reservation if you say it was an error.
