When four tourists two of whom are teenagers walk into a top end French restaurant in London...anything can happen. All the best did. We were offered a fantastic table on the window at the front of the restaurant. The service was gracious and friendly with everyone making a visible effort to deliver a great experience. The ceviche starter, seabass main, pasta with caviar and the tenderloin were all delightful. The seabass was perfectly cooked with an extra crispy skin and moist flaky flesh. The baby broccoli that accompanied had slightly charred ends adding a delightful smoky aroma and subtle crunch to complement the crispy skin. The tenderloin was gone no sooner than it was served and the pasta was a revelation with caviar adding an unusual counterpoint to the creamy pasta. The mixed salad was super fresh with each leaf and vegetable yielding a crisp bite. The dressing was a bit tart for my palate. The burger, with flavourful top notch patty cooked medium was delicious. The bun had too many seeds atop for my liking. Yet these two minor issues in no way took away from the evening. The spicy margarita to start and the profiteroles to end, bookended a highly recommended experience. I still miss L'Atelier though and miss the revelation that each bite used to be.
