Le Farfalle Charleston Reviews
I wish I had gotten a picture of our food.
I was too busy enjoying the ambiance and the DELISH food. We ordered the focaccia bread for an app. I had an espresso martini, that was delishhhhh. Then I had the AGNOLOTTI per our waitresses list of favorites and I am SO glad I did!! It melted in my mouth and was full of flavor. We also had the chocolate cake and the tiramisu and the chocolate cake was to-die-for!!! I cannot wait to come back when I visit next.
Such a cute ambiance.
The rosemary bread is delicious and the wait staff was attentive.
a few things to note-- this place is popppinnnnnn.
Getting a seat will be tough, as they don't take reservations, but can put you in line once you arrive. We were seated at the bar, and the bartenders were amazing and kind! I did hear one of them describe the caccio e pepe as "adult mac and cheese" and I was jokingly taken aback lol. It was more cramped but thankfully the people beside us were gracious. Anyways, the most important part is the FOOD. God and the angels were with us at this meal because it was so delicious. Absolutely order the rosemary focaccia with whipped ricotta ok listen u must. We also grabbed mocktails which were tasty as well. a very charming place, cute outdoor seating, and very intimate and romantic vibes.

I honestly don't know how this restaurant doesn't have 5 stars. This was our 3rd time visiting Charleston and is our favorite restaurant we've been to BY FAR. I'm sad that we didn't know about this spot sooner! We decided to come on a whim (thanks to Yelp!) when our previous dinner plans fell through. The restaurant was booked inside without a reservation but they had room outside on their patio for walk ins. I'm so glad we got to experience the patio. It's so picturesque and charming. The food was absolutely stellar. We had the whipped ricotta to start which was fun and flavorful but even better when we dipped our entrees in it. For dinner my husband got the sea bass which was so so so good. It was our first time having it and we were both blown away by how good it was. I ordered the Fideo which far exceeded my expectations. It was really unique and flavorful! I was also really happy with the amount of blue crab in the fish. What REALLY made our visit (beyond the fabulous food) was our waitress. She was so kind, attentive, and made excellent, thoughtful recommendations based on our tastes. She also gave us a complimentary chocolate cake in our to go bag which was such a kind gesture. The cake was delicious! We enjoyed it later that night as I raved about how much I enjoyed our dinner! I can't wait to come back!

If I was just eating the Caesar salad, this would be a 5 star review hands down. I don't know what they did to it, but it was perfection. You MUST have the anchovies. With that said, everything else was good! Large party with a reservation, grateful they accommodated our party size and the service was excellent. We also really enjoyed the drinks - perfect espresso martini- and the octopus carpaccio, which you don't see often on menus so had to have it. Definitely would recommend.

10/10!!! The service, recommendations, and food were amazing. Do yourself a favor and get the focaccia and the Fideos pasta! Life changing truly. Will 100% be back!
Fabulous meal and the BEST service! Can't wait to return.
Joe was attentive without being intrusive. We ate indoors, but would have chosen outdoors if it wasn't so humid. Their fresh catch of the day and chicken parm were delicious. You have to try the whipped ricotta!
Outstanding food and service.
We liked everything about our visit to Le Farfalle. Highly recommend!

Even though Le Farfalle has limited vegetarian options they made every effort to make me feel welcomed! Food was truly incredible, and every single person from the host, to the person who brought the food out, to Dori our server-- impeccable service and communication. Now this is what we all deserve when we go out !
Disappointing meal after all the reviews hyping up this
Disappointing meal after all the reviews hyping up this spot. Service was "strange". Very slow and inconsistent but man do they keep your water filled. Seems like this is the most important objective. Highlight was the whipped Ricotta. Delicious. Everything else was inedible. Not an exaggeration. The Cacio e Pepe was so under cooked it was far from"aldente" and lacked any flavor. The Angel Hair pasta dish was bland, dry and lacked seasoning. The dessert was straight out of the fridge and hadn't thawed when served which is why it probably took 15 mins to make it to the table, but our water full at all times! Enjoyed 5 days in Charleston and this was meal was definitely at the bottom of our list. Maybe our experience was isolated given the many good reviews but I have my doubts.

Came to celebrate a 21st and it was amazing! Service from Kelly and Mayli was great, they were very attentive. Tried the chicken parm, and the squid ink pasta. Highly recommend both. The tiramisu was as amazing as well.
Food was excellent.
However I ordered chicken parm and asked to substitute penne pasta for the spaghetti. I was told it would be an $18 up charge. When I spoke to the manager she told me it was a "pretty big portion " and she didn't set the prices the boss did. "The boss" wasn't available to talk to. An up charge like that and the fact the bartender needed a personality made it a 3 star visit and very overpriced. However the food was good.

Most of the food was great, specifically the focaccia! But the pasta was very bland. Echoing another review: tasted about the same (if not worse) as Olive Garden. One of the hostesses was super helpful and kind-- but the other hostess was so rude it that made us want to turn around before we were even seated. Luckily, we only had to see her one more time for the rest of the night (and she was even more rude the second time). Thankfully, our server made up for awful behavior and attitude we had to endure from the hostess. Our server was great!!
Le Farfalle has exceptional atmosphere, service and food.
This is a must-go for anyone visiting Charleston. The staff knew the menu inside and out, and had great food and wine recommendations. They were both timely and friendly. I will definitely be returning here, and would recommend the duck breast.
Literally so fire.
Their pasta is delicious and so are their bread and sauces. Both times I've been here it's been on point, the service has always been really good and attentive but not overbearing. It was a little hot in the restaurant but the food was so good that honestly it didn't really matter to us. Would recommend to anyone. We had the candele and I think the pasta verde, both were great. I wish they let you control the amount of cheese on top but that's literally my only complaint about the food.
This was my second time here and I absolutely loved it.
The focaccia with three different dips/spreads was to die for. My dad has been here quite a bit more than me and he orders the squid ink spaghetti every time because he says it's that good! I asked the bartender his opinion on pasta dishes and he suggested fideos, which was a great recommendation. I had the garden party cocktail with my meal and finished the night off with an espresso martini (both were great)! I will definitely be back for the fideos pasta dish again.
Spectacular dining experience.
Service was beyond great from everyone. We visited the city for 3 evenings and ate here for two of them for what that is worth!
We had a reservation and were seated promptly.
Serves was good. The appetizers were delicious but Fideos stole my heart hands down the best pasta I've ever had.

Food, service, and ambiance all lacking compared to previous visits. Dining room empty at 8pm on a Saturday. Weird folksy music playing. Chicken parm about as good as Olive Garden. Sadly we will have to cross Le Farfalle off the list.

If you get Sasha for your waitress you're in luck!! She made the most awesome recommendations and was very attentive throughout our meal. Super great food & atmosphere!
This one is harder for me to rate.
The food was a solid 5 stars. We got the fresh catch, chicken parm, whipped ricotta and prosciutto starter. All were absolutely delish. Our starters sounded like a lot of bread and cheese but wouldn't have done it differently because two of the best bites all night. My husband doesn't typically like ricotta but couldn't stop eating it. The fresh catch was cooked perfectly and had a lot of cool flavors and textures with the pumpkin and butternut squash polenta. Here's where we struggle. Service was bad. Our server was kinda aloof, and we were there for nearly 2.5 hours for a party of four. Our apps took 45 minutes to come out. On top of that, ambiance seriously left something to be desired. I have no pictures to attach because it was so dark I couldn't see my food. We were there celebrating a 30th bday and the joke became we were showing our age by having to pull out our phone flashlights to see anything. Really bummed about the overall experience because as good as the food was I don't know that we'd go back.
Fantastic food and services.
We were visiting Charleston and friends took us to dinner at this wonderful restaurant.
Food took hours to get here and when we asked the bus boy
Food took hours to get here and when we asked the bus boy about it he said they were plating it now. It took 20 more mins after that. The portions were tiny. There was nobody in there and no wonder, this restaurant sucks!!! To be fair I think it has a lot of potential, as the atmosphere was nice and the flavors were good. They just really need to work on it.
They wouldn't even seat me as a solo diner - 45 minute wait
They wouldn't even seat me as a solo diner - 45 minute wait to sit at the bar at 7:20pm on a Sunday despite there being OPEN SEATS and they refused to seat me at an actual table although there were ask numerous open tables inside and outside. Both children hostesses were rude and ridiculously unapologetic and unprofessional.

This place was amazing! We tried the lamb chops, whipped ricotta, buffalo mozzarella w/ prosciutto and focaccia, and the spaghetti with blue crab. Every bit of it was amazing. We are definitely going back here. Best Italian in all of Charleston! The ambience was also great. The restaurant is adorable and very classy. The service was just ok (we were at the bar) but everything else was over the top. May be the bartenders were just busy and therefore we didn't get the attention you'd expect? Not sure but if that was better, it would definitely be on point for best of Charleston and not just in the Italian category.
Delicious food and super cute atmosphere.
We had Caesar salad, duck agnolotti, lamb shank (huge!), rosemary focaccia (this could've been my entire meal - soooo good), and bread pudding. Would 100% be back if we lived in the area.
Really cute italian restaurant with patio dining and great
Really cute italian restaurant with patio dining and great food! The Rosemary focaccia bread was a perfect appetizer to our cacio e pepe and squid ink spaghetti with shrimp.
Great food, the whipped ricotta is to die for.
Ambiance is incredible, such a beautiful restaurant and environment. Sat at the bar, and the service was lackluster, which is why it doesn't get 5 stars. Waited long for food, bartender was dismissive and cold.
We were visiting Charleston for the food & Wine festival
We were visiting Charleston for the food & Wine festival and decided to give this place a try. We did not have reservations so we waited 1.5 hrs to get seated. We were seated around 9pm our drinks and first two apps came out in pretty decent time. We had the Caesar salad and burrata. However, as the restaurant started clearing out all of a sudden we found ourself waiting another whooping ONE HOUR and FIFTEEN minutes to get our two mains. No one said anything to us about the delay. I had to go ask for the manager who apologized. The pasta came hot and delicious, but the fact they didn't compensate the two pastas for the wait is simply ridiculous. That is truly poor customer service. It's just too bad. The food was great, but all the waiting absolutely ruined our experience. I can't recommend this place because of it.
What a great place for a meal or just a couple of drinks.
Good vibes all around and the service was up to snuff for the moderately priced cocktails and food. I will be back for sure! The one gripe I did have a problem with was the low lighting in back booths behind the bar. It's dark which is great for mood but man it like really dark but would much rather have it that way than lit up like a cafeteria.
Very good experience.
Our waitress Jacqueline was very professional and on top of everything. We came in for my wife's birthday and have been wanting to try a good Italian restaurant in Charleston. La Farfelle did not dissapoint. We are from Rhode Island and grew up around very high-quality Italian food and this was on point with anything up there.I got the classic Chicken Parmigiano accompanied with Spaghetti which was very good and my wife loved the Fideos which was a dish of Angel Hair with Blue crab and other spices. Jacqueline also recommended the focaccia bread as an appetizer and I highly recommend trying this. The bread came with high end Olive Oil, a red sauce, and also whipped ricotta. Would order again if I went back.My wife was very happy with her birthday dinner and that's all I can ask for. Thanks for the great food and great service! Highly recommend !
Came here for my 21 birthday and was so excited.
Had a party of 8 and heard good reviews so thought this was the perfect place. Appetizers were fine but the meals were awful. Noodles were hard and super uncooked. Service was terrible waiter barely came to our table and my dinner came out an hour later then every one else's that I had to take it to go and didn't even end up eating because it was terrible. After complaining about how long it was taking the waiter brought me meat balls.... I'm vegetarian. I asked if I could get my bill comped since our reservation was at 8 and I didn't get my food till 10. But nope still had to pay full price. Very disappointed especially since I was so excited to come here for my birthday. Never coming aga
