Dining In House
As we’re staying at this hotel, we decided to dine in on our first night as we had had a busy day. The menu was good and the options ranged from simple choices to more elegant options. We shared an entree and a pizza, which were delicious. The service was inattentive and could have been better. The setting is stunning with expansive views over the lake towards the mountains.

I had the market fish and my husband the chicken. Service was great as was the lake view. Delicious frothy cappuccino for dessert!

Absolutely guttered you do not accept cash. Cash is New Zealand legal tender. Legal tender that I work hard for. Not once did you tell us before eating, it doesn't say on your website and there's nothing around your till to say you do not accept cash. That's Absolutely disgusting. Unfortunately because of this I will not be back and I will tell everyone that wants to listen. Very very unfortunate because by God your restaurant was bloody good. The best service and food I've had in New Zealand since way before covid. Sucks to be you.

Nice food but expensive for what it was, stunning views and excellent service. Menu limited especially the starters. Would only chose to eat here for convenience if staying in the hotel

Stayed at the hotel, arranged a meal for six at LOMBARDI, Ordered an expensive bottle of wine, they brought the wrong bottle out saying that they don’t have what we wanted and made their own choice. This happened three times to the humour of the bar staff. We settled for two it’ll do bottles, ordered dinner to find the first two choices were unavailable. We settled yet again, when ordering the entree - pizza bread with buffalo cheese that read it was accompanied with Parmesan cheese we were told it will cost an extra $30 to have the buffalo cheese removed and replaced with a little extra Parmesan cheese. The waitress was lovely and only delivering what the chef and bar staff was telling her. It should have been a sign for us as there was literally only two other people in the restaurant.

Great bar and food with friendly staff. Highly recommend. Comfortable and quiet. And the views are amazing! Thanks to TJ - great service.

We dined at Lombardi for both lunch and dinner. Lunch menu was pathetic, with not many options available, other than pizzas. But, dinner was completely different. The food was sumptuous and our wait staff, Kelly, provided excellent service!

I have never ever been to a restaurant where each course of the three course meal was sheer perfection. I can not speak highly enough of the talent and skills of the chef's. Additionally, the service was brilliant. I would give them 15/10.....True Art in the food scene.

We dined here as Accor Plus Members The food and service was impeccable. The restaurant is a few minutes walk up a hill from central Queenstown but manageable. I highly recommend dining here.

We did not dine at this restaurant as the menu was limited due to staff shortages experienced all over the world. I visited during happy hour which is from 4:30 to 5:30pm for some $8 beers. The venue is worth visiting for the view alone. It was very quiet when I visited.

Amazing view over the lake... Entrees, scallops bland but the orzo with squid ink had all the flavour and the squid, grrr deep fried then served on a cold plate. Venison tasty with a rich sauce and the blue cod with prawns and muscles, omg I have had better. Was told it was pan fried but it was not... poached or a water bath and not seasoned at all. The pizza oven looked amazing, might try again but only for the pizza and view.

Even if the food was average, the views from the restaurant are amazing. Problem is the food is outstanding, and whilst we wanted to support many of the local restaurants during our work trip to Queenstown, we only ended up journeying out of the hotel twice in the evenings for food, the other nights we dined at Lombardi .
The quality of the food and variety was fantastic, the presentation was as good as I have seen in any restaurant anywhere, and lastly the friendliness of the staff was truly wonderful. Thanks team for making our stay so enjoyable
Dinner
A few years back, we went to Lombardi and i constantly raved about it, couldn't wait to go back!
But tonight, i was sooo disappointed and won't probably return.
The entrée was lovely.
But the lamb was so bland!! I wish i had said something but it is hard when the staff are so lovely and check in. Possibly a little too much as they weren't overly busy, but the staff are the reason they are getting the stars, NOT the food :( 😞
Awesome Night!
Great Experience!
We had a great night with scrumptious food at Lombardi. Excellent service and friendly staff . Food was lovely from Entree ,Main and Dessert ..drinks too. Definitely will comeback and will highly recommend Lombardi to friends.
Fine Dining Surprise
I booked Lombardi for my Fiancé's birthday as a surprise. We were immediately impressed by the decor, views, and ambience of the hotel and restaurant. Our meals were outstanding, with good size portions. The wine options were fantastic also, along with the cocktails! Thank you Marcella for the wonderful service, and for making our night so special. We will definitely be back next time we are down south! :)

My husband I were staying in the St Moritz so we thought we would try their onsite restaurant.
We were served by Marcella, a very bubbly fun lady.
I tried their signature dish- the lasagne, apparently a secret family recipe given to the restaurant by the founding chefs mother. Sadly it didn’t quite live up to the hype, I felt my own homemade lasagne might have trumped it in my opinion. Good value considering it comes with a side salad and a piece of bread.
My husband had the eye fillet.
Well cooked, accompanied by vegetables.
The surroundings are really lovely, the chairs you sit in are really funky and make the overall look of the restaurant really funky.
Great staff and amazing view
My wife and I ate dinner here and had drinks at the bar during happy hour. Great friendly staff and well priced food and drink options. Great menu which offers something for everyone. I had the steak and my wife had the famous lasagna which she said wasn’t that great at all. My steak was good and the beetroot salad was great. The views are truly amazing and I highly recommend a visit here if you’re in town.

I had read so much about the famous lasagna we chose to share one as an entre but waitress got confused and it came out with out with our mains, which was fortunate, as our mains were so small we were pleased there was another dish of food. The mains were entre size but tasty. I had lamb rump which consisted of two small pieces of lamb sitting on a spoonful of puree and a small amount of ratatouille. For the price there should at least have been a nice potato dish to accompany it that would have finished it off nicely and dont me so mean with the serving size. The lasagna was OK but i think mama might have been disappointed wit this one. It had a good flavour but was just a runny mess. Not stacked like the real lasagna should be. However, all was forgiven after enjoying the Chocolate indulgence. A definite recommendation. Staff were trying hard to please, The view would be the best in town if you are lucky enuf to get a window seat

Drawn to this restaurant because of its wood fired pizza oven. However pizza arrived half cooked. Sent it back and second pizza also arrived (base stodgy and raw dough visible) Gave up and ordered lamb instead which was delicious.
Sad that the reason we booked here was the pizza oven but the people operating it had no idea how to cook pizza.
Serving staff were very apologetic but that was it.
For dessert we asked for Affogatto. Not on the menu but clearly they had all the competent parts (ice cream coffee and liqueurs) Waitress asked the chef but he refused to make one.
Not a great customer friendly chef. Maybe he was upset having had 2 pizzas sent back.
Locals beware. This is no longer a great place for pizza.
Good restaurant, fantastic view
We visited this restaurant as a first table deal, which was great.
Our table at Lombardi had lovely views over the Lake. Service was okay, enthusiastic, but she did seem a bit new. We were offered Bluff Oysters which I had, $5 each or 6 for $25 which is reasonable, and my wife had the scallops as an entree. She is gluten sensitive meaning that too much disagrees with her, but not coeliac, so e.g. sauces are okay. For mains I had the venison and my wife lamb with polenta and ratatouille. Since my main had few carbs, we also had truffled chips. Dessert was trio of sorbets for me and lemon yuzu tart (gluten free). The scallops were not to my taste, as the salty bacon foam they were with seemed to overpower the delicate flavour of the scallops. My oysters were the usual fresh bluff oysters and the dipping sauce was nice. The venison was delicious, perfectly cooked and the sides went well. My wife loved her lamb and the creamy polenta was exceptional. The chips were great. My wife loved the yuzu ``tart'' which I had a bit of and can affirm that it is a lovely choice. I found my small serving of sorbets was fresh and well-prepared. I had a glass of Amisfield Riesling ($13) with the oysters and we had a bottle of Amisfield Pinot (listed as 2017 on the wine list, but 2018 came out-$99-when questioned I was offered the wine list again) with the rest. Both wines up to their usual standards. The wine list is good and has the usual large Queenstown markups. For example, a Roaring Meg Pinot is listed at $72. Strangely, they did not allow a first table discount for the oysters as (if I understood correctly) they were discounted at $25 (not could we pay $30 and then get half off). The hotel allows free parking under the hotel, which is great. I did not have the signature lasagne, but did see others tucking into it with gusto. All in all a nice night, as I would go again.
