Delicious!
Beautiful and delicious dinner! Loved everything we ordered! Favorites were the butternut squash fries, broccoli salad, ricotta cavatelli and the short ribs! โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ
Be the first to ReplyNice, but unexceptional
Experienced Loring Place on the recommendation of friends and left slightly disappointed with the cuisine being very good, but certainly not memorable in any way or worthy of a return engagement.
Be the first to ReplyNice ambiance but need bigger proportions
The ambiance and service were good, but we found the proportion sizes to be very small, especially for the price. Our food (brussels sprouts salad, pizza and chicken breast) was okay but not great. Also, I asked the server if I could add chicken breast to my brussels sprouts salad, and she informed me there are no substitutions. Many restaurants offer this as an add on for an additional price, which is a nice offering that this restaurant could consider for future diners. Finally, our party of three ended up eating a second dinner about an hour after we left this restaurant because we were hungry.
Be the first to ReplyNice restaurant but slightly disappointed
We were looking for somewhere that sold good vegetarian food but also family friendly options. This does and the veggie food was good but didn't blow us away. My son said his pizza was OK but nothing special and the Grandmas pizza in my opinion was burnt and generally poor. The staff were lovely and very attentive but this is an expensive place and for the money I have to say that I expected more.
Be the first to ReplyGood - yes; exceptional - no
I enjoyed my lunch here but it was not memorable. Is it worth a try? Yes, With so many other new places to try I donโt know if Iโll be rushing back but it was enjoyable,
Be the first to ReplyLively local place; quality foods.
Found this restaurant in walking distance from Washington Square Park. Lively place with tables close together (indoors - it was too hot to sit out). Locally sourced interesting tasty food. Also had a tutored flight of NY State Ciders from the maker - not a bit like UK ones I can say! Manhattan prices apply.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Dinner
This is a New American restaurant in the West Village. We ate outdoors, which was a pleasant experience because the street was pretty quiet. All of our food was excellent, the cocktails were strong and service was first rate.
Be the first to ReplyCreative and delicious food
We enjoyed an early Saturday dinner and were seated without a reservation. Our server was friendly and helpful. Our two small plates were fantasticโbaked ricotta and charred broccoli. The entree of Arctic char wasnโt great, however, and was overly fishy. The almond cake dessert was good, but really the highlight was the tiny dash of honey lemon gelato on top. Everything was SUPER EXPENSIVE. For the price, everything had to be super to merit 5 starsโbut not everything was. Tiny soft drinks were $5, with each refill another $5. So we enjoyed our experience and had some good food, but also some sticker shock.
Be the first to Replynice outdoor dining over the summer
Really enjoyed the outdoor dining at Loring Place. Excellent squash pizza! Wine list was solid. Staff was kind.
Be the first to ReplyThis is what you hope for out of a great NYC Restaurant
Went with a close friend for dinner. From the moment you enter you know it's going to be good. The service - friendly, professional and attentive (without being pushy). The setting - classy, chic and done with taste. Feel - happening without being too loud (I could actually talk with the person at my table), warm, special place. The food - I confess I was dubious on some of the dishes but could not fine one that disappointed. Bar - well stocked (but not over stocked), nice setting and vibe.
This is one of my new favorite places. New York is Back!
good food and great drinks
Had salads and pizza with drinks. Very good bar although food is pricey as is everything in NYC. Drinks are $16 and 4 slice pizza around $20 but really good.
Be the first to ReplyMUST GO!
I've been dining at Loring since 2017 and have not been slightly disappointed once. BEST RESTAURANT IN NEW YORK, period! The menu keeps changing to best adapt to the current season so they really use the freshest ingredients (right now you must have the strawberry and tomatoes salad!).
The service is impeccable: kind and attentive. MUST GO!!!!
I look forward to trying che Dan's new restaurant too, Penny Bridge.
Creative vegetarian meal at a fair price
I had dinner with a friend who suggested Loring Place as an interesting, different restaurant. I went with no real expectations and was pleasantly surprised at the creativity of the the dishes and the experience overall. The restaurant serves several intriguing fish entrees and a burger, but my dinner companion and I decided to share several vegetarian small plates with a centerpiece of one of the pizza choices. With the assistance of our very friendly, excellent waiter, we selected a wonderful strawberry salad, the humus plate and an heirloom tomato salad. Our waiter also brought out a taste of the fried zucchini just for fun. To accompany the meal I had a quite refreshing cucumber spritzer and my friend a glass of red wine. And worth mentioning, we had the choice of sparkling tap water and that added an extra sparkle to the night. After the meal I realized I had not had an all vegetarian meal in some time and if at Loring Place, I would enjoy doing it more often. I have occasionally tried some of the fancier and much pricier vegetarian restaurants in the City and have not enjoyed them nearly as much. I look forward to taking my vegetarian grandson to try it. A meal here will not disappoint.
Be the first to ReplyGood but Slipping
This has become a standard neighborhood restaurant for me, but over the years it has not kept up the high quality of the past. Many of the dishes fall flat from the excitement of the past. The service is rushed and unhelpful. It is becoming a restaurant of table turning rather than an good dining experience. The food is still good as is the service, but slipping nonetheless.
Be the first to ReplySIMPLY PERFECT!
From start to finish we could not be more pleased. The service was friendly yet attentive. Our waitress was patient and was willing to walk through any questions that we had about the menu. One of the first things we noticed was how fresh all of the ingredients were and how literally everything is made in house. The eggs were perfect and tasted like I was in a French kitchen in France. The asparagus fries were to die for! The lemon aioli accompaniment was so good, I kept licking my knife to get every last bit. Just the right amount of lemon, Parmesan and YES, homemade mayo. The pancakes were delicious and we could have easily ordered another batch if we werenโt already so stuffed. This place is awesome if you are looking for FRESH ingredients clearly meticulously prepared with care. Sorry the pictures had bites already missing...Couldnโt help ourselves.
Be the first to ReplyThe most disrespectful interaction I have ever faced at any restaurant in the world
I came here for lunch yesterday Friday April 16th with my husband. We walked in with my husband and was greeted by a white older man(we don't have his name) at the front desk. He asked if we had a reservation, we said no and it was no issue as the restaurant, surprisingly, was empty. Before he proceeded to take us to our table the phone at the front desk rang and this man decided to pick up at the phone and under his breath said: 'I will sit you when I'm done with this phone call'. I thought that was odd but I imagined in that moment that he would put the caller on hold. I was mistaken. He proceeded to converse with the caller regarding a future reservation for a long while. I looked at my husband and he was appalled. He asked me to not say anything. This was now a couple of minutes waiting while he conversed on the phone about a reservation at which point I said to him, 'excuse me, we are waiting'. And at that point he put the phone down and it a very rude manner walked us to our table. No apology, no excuse me, nothing. He slammed a paper and pen for contract tracing on the table and very abruptly pulled out a chair. He didn't say I am sorry or please enjoy your lunch. He walked away back to his phone call.
We were so shocked by this interaction we wanted to leave. This person has ZERO training in hospitality. He has no idea how to be the face of a restaurant, let alone Loring Place of Dan Kluger. A total embarrassment for your establishment. We used to be regulars before the pandemic dining here at least once a week. This is NOT the way to save your business or regain a following after such difficult months. It sort of explains why on a Friday lunch you are empty because this is the first impression people get.
My husband works in hospitality and we know this is not how this restaurant has trained their employees. Our server, Katarina (I believe), was lovely, attentive and felt like the Loring Place we knew. But this person at the front desk, who again was on the phone when we left and couldn't even bother to say thank you for dining or whatever (not even bye?) really ruined our experience and sadly we won't be coming back.
Novel dishes and consistently excellent
My favorite thing about Loring Place is the unique and constantly changing menu. The food is consistently delicious and interesting. One of my favorite restaurants in Manhattan. Iโm fortunate enough to live close by. The portions are plentiful as well by the way.
