I've gotten to a point with Italian restaurants where I feel that I could make the dishes myself and be less disappointed. Thus I go in with lower and lower expectations. Lyla Lila was a pleasant surprise to the Italian/pasta scene. Pastas: first off al, it's not listed on the menu, but you can get appetizer sizes( and pricing) if almost all their pastas. This is a highlight for me as this allows for the opportunity to try multiple dishes without paying for it in price or amount of food. We got the duck lasagna, the waygu ravioli, and the burrata ravioli. The duck lasagna was our least favorite jsut because it felt a bit bland. The waygu and the burrata were delicious. The burrata probably won by a slim margin because it was so light and the lemon with the caviar was amazing. The waygu ravioli was actually stuffed with meat as opposed to morcels of meat. We split the snapper for an entree and omg this was delicious. The butter lemon sauce was decadent without being heavy. The snapper was cooked perfectly and was such a generous portion of fish that was so flaky and tender. The pesto with the bite provided a wonderful complimentary crunch without detracting from the fish. One of the best entrees I've had at a restaurant in a while. I wanted to try the desserts but we were too full! I would definitely come back and i can't wait to try the rest of the pastas! I have my eye on the squid ink spaghetti next.
