Maison Nico San Francisco Reviews
Sadly have to knock a few stars off.
My last two visits were disappointing. The pain au chocolat and some sort of cheese croissant we got weren't very good. The pain au chocolat was also comedically small. Shrink flation?

Great pastries, counter service with some seats if you want to dine in. The lamb merguez pastry served with a nice side salad was delicious - warm, flaky, basically a very elegant sausage roll. The canelé was decent as well, price is great, texture

This place is dangerous because it's located across the street from my office and it gets so tempting to visit because I can see them from my window. I'm not a croissant person so I can't judge whether it's good or not BUT this is

A friend and I planned for a morning run around the Embarcadero, but ended up walking on over to Maison Nico for morning pastries. Funny because we also both ended up getting the chocolate croissants! Usually we'd both get different things to o

Food and coffee are high quality, but attitudes of the staff are just not worth it. We've been going regularly for months and often faced brusque service but our experience today was next level rudeness from multiple staff members because we hap

The desserts aren't that much more special compare to other bakeries but Everything savory was really great, love it. Went back the very next day for more

Went on a Saturday late morning and the line was about 10-15 minutes! Their sweet pastries were delicious (and also very visually appealing). Inside seating area was pretty limited, but customer turnover was okay, so didn't spend much time waiti

This place a hidden gem and I wish I could eat more.
Finding food like this is hard to find.

Stopped by Maison Nico right before closing and snagged the last croissant and a chocolate chip cookie. Seating is limited, so it's more of a grab-and-go vibe. Croissant was decent, though I think it would've been even better warmed up.
Beautiful cafe with delicious pastries!
This cafe is a gem in the Jackson square area. The pastries are exquisite and it's a great spot for coffee and tea. There is something so elegant and french about this spot. You'll be tempted to order and eat more than you should!

Pricey but delicous brioche feuillette
Finally, I found a bakery in San Francisco that offers brioche feuillette. Although quite pricey, the taste and texture of this buttery and flaky pastry is superb. I will stop by again next time we are in San Francisco. This bakery is popular so c
Exceptional Pastries with subpar service
When Michelin-starred French bistro Nico closed in 2019 owners Andrea and Nicolas Delaroque pivoted to Pastry, and although $45 for 5 items might seem pricey in most markets the ingredients and execution are every bit on par with what one sees in Lyo
Gorgeous viennoiserie
This place is the real deal. Beautiful French viennoiserie, all done beautifully. There are no longer long lines out the door, but the stuff is still absolutely delicious. Sweet stuff for the morning. Beautiful pates and terrines for lunch or pic
Wonderful!
Maison Nico has simply wonderful baked goods but the quiche is the best! Large, warm, and perfect for a cold Saturday morning, we shared the bacon and potato quiche (yum!). The croissants were also good but the quiche was amazing. Their pates also lo

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Maison Nico San Francisco at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Maison Nico San Francisco page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* MaternalRecord73, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* MaternalRecord73 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to MaternalRecord73 for any questions Peter may have as MaternalRecord73 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* MaternalRecord73 now uses their connections at Maison Nico San Francisco to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If MaternalRecord73 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, MaternalRecord73 receives the $200 reward which is credited to MaternalRecord73's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Maison Nico San Francisco!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
