The hostess gave me a nasty attitude for asking to be seated outside because I didn't have a reservation, so I got seated inside. The food arrived very late, it was bland, cold and overpriced. I didn't enjoy my meal, while I was chewing the beef souvlaki with rice and salad, I came across a piece of sand/rock that ruined my appetite. They don't wash their food properly... Would I ever come back? No.

I came here for my Birthday Dinner since I had heard good things. The ambiance was very moody and outdoors which reminded me of restaurants in Greece. Me and some friends split almost all the appetizers and everything was very tasty. A few negatives to mention: 1) we arrived on time to our reservation but still waited 20 minutes to be seated. 2) Service, I felt our server was not very attentive and we received food before our drinks. 3) I was really looking forward to a pita or naan type bread but instead we were given regular loaf bread? It was good but I was expecting pita, so the experience wasn't as satisfying. Otherwise the appetizers were satisfactory. Overall it was a good experience, but I definitely think it was overhyped on social media. Other mentions: they do not have a full service bar so no liquor.

Mandolin was a fantastic experience!! The meal from start to Finnish was amazing everything was served very fresh and savory. My wife had the lamb chops that unfortunately I wasn't able to take a picture of but it was served on the rice that was just great as advertised I had the beef with fries and pita and honestly the food couldn't be more amazing then how we had it last night!! The service there was also amazing we walked in without reservations and was able to get in luckily because as we were there it was still a good wait. So if planning to go make a reservation in advance because they fill up quick. We sat outside and the night was a great night for outside sitting it wasn't congested and too noisy. We felt almost out of Miami this restaurant did a great job as in taking you out of the Miami and placing you somewhere on the Mediterranean. The white building and blue touches immediately placed us in Santorini serving authentic Greek beers and drinks it was all truly authentic from beginning to end. We loved every moment !!

Be the first to ReplyThis place always hits.
Such good Greek food. Some unique dishes and a little pricey but it's normal for the neighborhood. Great for sharing. Went twice in a week recently. The atmosphere is nice outside and inside and the service is good. Absolutely love the salads, kofte, branzino, and all the cheeses. Everything tastes so fresh. Request they only cook or grill with olive oil* check Seed Oil Scout

The food was good very taste The service was very good The seating place with air conditioning was small we seat outside looking at a tree. I imagine when it is raining where you going seat The food appetizers are small portions for the price $24.00 and the main plate are overpriced $38.00 for this kind of restaurant .$18.00 for glass of sangria This is not a fancy restaurant to much fame with 5 stars Michelin . When we make the reservation show on the web like was full . When we arrive the place was half empty Friday night Tourist Trap advertising Good Luck

I finally made my way to Mandolin and I am so happy I did. Tucked away in this dreamy outdoor patio-esque spot in the design district is a delightful bistro serving Greek & Turkish cuisine. Our group got an assortment of items including: + Greek Sampler: the spicy feta here was to dieee to for! +Greek Salad +Manti Dumplings never met manti dumplings I didn't like, and these were no exception +Kofte: these were exceptional +Grilled octopus Everything was absolutely exceptional and I look forward to going back. It is immensely popular, so a resi is a must.

Mandolin stands out among the array of dining options in the Design District with their truly delicious food. The manti dumplings are a must-try, small parcels filled with succulent beef and generously covered in a creamy yogurt sauce. Equally noteworthy is the Ali nazik, a Mediterranean fusion of lamb, eggplant, and yogurt. The mussels, infused with the bright essence of white wine, are absolutely delicious. Now the dishes that were controversial for me. Greek sampler was a miss, with 2/3 mediocre spreads. Stuffed pepper and tomato had mostly rice inside with very little minced meat. And while moussaka was pretty good because béchamel and cheese always do their trick, I've tried better ones. I truly love the atmosphere of the restaurant. The outdoor setting feels like a charming Mediterranean courtyard, with plants that you actually see a lot in Greece! The inside also resembles an authentic Greek tavern with all the cute little details, creating a cozy and inviting space. As for the reservations, it might be a bit hard to get one. And sadly, when you arrive at your time, you will still wait for your table for 15-20 minutes. Despite this, I recommend you to come here.

Wow. I cannot rave about Mandolin enough and am thrilled we made it for Friday lunch to kickoff a long weekend in Miami. My bf and I have been to Turkey and craving dishes we had during our visit that we haven't had since and Mandolin delivered. We didn't have a reservation when we came in right after they opened at noon. While you don't need a reservation, I recommend getting one if you want to sit on the beautiful patio. We sat inside and ordered smaller plates to share and it was plenty of food. The Greek sampler came with tzatziki, taramasalata, and tirokafteri. One of those was a feta dip, the other was a fish dip. They were all delicious and came with bread, but the tzatziki was the star of the show. Creamy, flavorful, incredible and had a light drizzle of olive oil on top. So yum. Next we had the lamb lahmacun which is a baked flatbread with minced meat. The bread had a slight crisp and was so flavorful with a touch of brightness thanks to the lemon squeeze you add before enjoying. Incredible. Last we had an order of the fioretto cauliflower which came with muhammara and mint. It was absolutely divine and cooked perfectly. We washed it all down with a refreshing cocktail; the karpouzi fresco with watermelon, mint, and prosecco. You absolutely should go out of your way to visit this culinary gem. And now I'm starving!

Loved loved loved my experience at Mandolin! My best friend took me here for Match Day celebration, and she could not have picked a better place. The service was great. We had "graduation" indicated in the reservation, so everyone was congratulating me (Match Day is much bigger than grad in medical school) and even brought us complimentary ice cream. They also had pashminas for us when we got chilly. The restaurant itself has authentic greek vibes with the Santorini blue accents. We got baked feta, fries, greek salad, and moussaka. Everything was yummy, and it was probably the best moussaka I've had in the US. We paired our meal with a bottle of red recommended by the server. The food came out pretty quickly, and the service was efficient. Can't wait to come back next time I am in Miami!

If i had all the money in the world to spend, i would go there everyday! One of the best Mediterranean places ever but pricy. Still worth it for a nice dinner with friends or someone special
Be the first to ReplyOnly reason it got the extra star was for its ambiance.
I don't see why this place is so highly rated. The chicken kebabs were extremely dry, way too charred. The fish was slimy. The prices are too high for what you get. Subpar food. Won't be coming back.

We had a lunch reservation at 12, and we were seated as soon as the restaurant opened. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive, and our food came out extremely quickly. While all of the dishes we ordered were delicious, we especially loved the manti dumplings and the stuffed zuchini. I walk by this restaurant almost every day and there's usually a line outside, so definitely make a reservation in advance and be prepared for a delicious meal!

Great environment, and the beef souvlaki was probably the best I've tasted. Wish I went with a larger group so I could have tried more dishes.
Be the first to ReplyDo not waste your money or your time.
The only thing that I will give this place points for is the decor. Very nice looking restaurant. But that's where the praises end, food bland, service poor. Waste of money. Like I am seriously starting to question the validity of yelp. I just don't understand how a restaurant with such "mid" food at best is rated so highly.Mandolin fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. I definitely won't be back that's 100% facts.
Be the first to ReplyMan oh man .
.. I hate to say it but these reviews are . Our party of two res was for 10:00pm. There were 4 parties in front of the building. Two checked in prior to our arrival and two checked in after us for a total of 5 parties waiting. For reasons unknown all 4 parties were taken before us. We did not get seated until 10:22pm. Note one was a party of 7 another a party of 5. When we were seated, we noticed we were seated in the farthest back corner of the restaurant which I also thought was strange. We looked around and saw there were no other brown faces. Literally not one. I never and I mean I never ever pull the race card ... but I just want to highlight this was indeed very strange. Our waiter took about 10 mins just to check in with us. They had small glass cups rim side down on the table which is obviously unsanitary as when patrons are finished eating they use a rag to briefly wipe the table down. So definitely not putting my mouth on that dirty glass. Mezes (appetizers): We ordered spanakopita, cheese saganaki, ali nazik. The apps were SO underwhelming. The spanakopita was COLD. Spinach and cheese did not blend well as they were so cold. You could tell this was made prior and reheated not fresh at all. Phyllo was dense not light airy or fluffy. No flavor at all. Saganaki was COLD. Not melty ... no sizzle ... no flame. A crispy block of cold cheese. The Ali nazik was you guessed it ..... COLD. Lamb Ragu was a glorified sloppy joe with no flavor AT. ALL. While not enjoying our apps at all ... waiter comes to us at 11:03 and says ... hey I just realized the kitchen closed but if you tell me your order right now I can ask them to put it in but you have to order right now. So we didn't even get a chance to review the menu well to place our top choices. Poor service smh Main: we decided to share a dish because the apps were so bad as we didn't want to order two mains in the event they were also underwhelming. We ordered the beef souvlaki. The beef was tender and bite sized (which is Unusual) however they did give quite a few skewers. Beef was completely under seasoned. Tender does not make up for flavor. The Greek style fries were cut too thin so it was all crisp and no potato -also absolutely zero salt. Tzatziki had good flavor but consistency was off. It was extremely thick - similar to smooth peanut butter instead of the usual thinner sauce. Worst of all were the drinks. Husband ordered a white sangria -- literally Carlo Rossi at Publix is better. And the berry lemonade .... Omg ... this was the worst drink I have ever had in life. They juiced lemons pulp and all, crushed berries added a smidge of water and that's it. No sugar no filtering of the pulp and seeds -- nothing. It was lots and lots and lots of pulp. Super thick and rich. Extremely tart. No sugar at all to balance the tart. It was so sour it made my eyes water. So rich that it was literally undrinkable. Gross and waste of money. The weirdest part of the night is I noticed food being brought out to a table. Loads and loads of dishes after the kitchen was "closed" majority of the staff took a seat and began eating with a 80% full restaurant!!!! So extremely bizarreeee. Like ... how are you having a sit down dinner and there are patrons eating and in need of service. Make it make sense!!!! Needless to say I don't know if they are paying people for reviews, but save your money. Restaurant/patio is beautiful that's where the beauty ends. I have genuinely had better food from a food truck in Astoria, NY. For 1/8 of the price. For a better and more authentic Greek food go to Meraki Greek bistro. Don't feed into the glitz and glam and reviews like I did.

My wife and I dined at Mandolin on date nights at least four times in our first year in the FLL/MIA area. It quickly became a favorite for the atmosphere, food and service. While there, I feel like I'm in Greece because of the decor. The food is always phenomenal.

What's better than light yet delicious Greek food in a gorgeous patio in Miami springtime? The service was lovely too! I tried the orange wine and did baked feta but for me the show stopper was the honey cake! Such a surprise! Somehow light and decadente at the same time and such a fantastic flavor! My only regret is not ordering 3. The baklava was really interesting too! Overflowing with fresh pistachios and such great flavors inside. Would love to come back and try everything!

Mandolin Aegean Bistro is a charming restaurant that offers a delightful Mediterranean dining experience. The ambiance of the restaurant is warm and inviting, with a beautiful outdoor courtyard that creates a cozy atmosphere. The menu features a wide variety of dishes that are inspired by the Aegean region, and the ingredients are fresh and of high quality. The standout dishes include the lamb chops, grilled octopus, and the eggplant appetizer. The service is attentive and knowledgeable, and the overall dining experience is excellent. The place is amazing , like a little piece of the Mediterrane in the Miami Design District. The Greek sample with vegetables is so nice and summerish . Also several main dishes are Devine . Reservation for the weekend needs to be done several weeks in advance. Prices are little high
