This location is terrible.
Like, terrible. The Beverly Hills location was way better. The food tasted like nothing. Like I was eating food while having c0v!d and couldn't taste my food. I ordered filet mignon, asked for it medium well. It was dry and rubbery like it was well done. No flavor at all, even ordered the bone in one. Also got the white cheddar macaroni and cheese and spinach dip, literally tasted like oil and cheese and noodles. Spinach dip tasted like cream and nothing else. I was piiiiiiiissed. Was celebrating something really serious and wanted to celebrate myself. Didn't want to get dressed so I ordered to go. Got there before my pick-up time, they good me to give them an extra 10 minutes. No biggie. Came right back and took the food 1 mile away from the restaurant. Food was just lukewarm at best and the ice cream for my butter cake was half melted. Amazing right. Oh yea, and I got the cake and bread. Butter cake is forever 10/10 recommend. Best thing in the whole order, not worth the $140 I spent though. Not at allllll. And the bread was cold and tasted like it had been sitting out all day. Celebration ruined lol.Location is pretty, but the food is a dub. Wish I had gone for just drinks.

Celebrated my wedding anniversary a few weeks ago at this Mastro's and was extremely pleased with everything about the experience. It was my wife's first time and my first time having the 32oz Tomahawk Wagyu. DELICIOUS. Neema was our server and she rocked it! Thank you Neema!
Be the first to Replyentertainment is great.
Ok wine is amazing!!!!! I usually drink wine when I eat here because their wine selection is superb. Dinner is steak of course. They switch up their menu so I always try what is recommended. And you can not leave without having the butter cake for dessert. Can't say I didn't tell you.

I went to this beautiful new location on 2/26/2023 with my work family. It was a party of 11 and we had the most amazing time. I would first like to give a huge thank you to Laurence Whiting for coordinating with me and making this possible. He is their director of events, and he made the reservation process seamless! We set everything up via email, and he did not fail me! When we arrived, we had pur table reafy and waiting for us. The beautiful detail of adding our company name to the menu had everyone smiling. Very nice touch. Now, let's talk about the food. Wow!! We probably tried 50% of the menu!! It started with a BEAUTIFUL seafood tower with lobster, crab legs, and shrimp. The presentation was spectacular. Then we also indulged in some bone marrow, calimari, and tuna. We enjoyed their delicious filets, NY steaks, fish, and chicken. Mashed potatoes, salads, cream spinach, asparagus, mac n cheese. All of it was absolutely divine!! We tried a few of the desserts as well, and nothing disappointed. Now, the other huge highlight of the night was the impeccable service we received from Nick, Mari and Reno. I mean, we were a huge party. We were asking for food, cocktails, champagne, you name it. We never felt neglected because someone was always there ready to take care of us. They never got frustrated or irritated by our requests. Large parties can be overwhelming but they handled it like true professionals. Thank you Mastro's for such an epic night. We loved every moment and cannot wait to come back!!

We passed by this place while going to retrieve our car from valet after a Laker game. We were greeted and seated immediately. The decor is elegant, but dimly lit. Our two teenage boys were able to enter wearing their newly acquired Laker swag. Jason was our server and was absolutely amazing - by far the best service we have experienced. Without him this place would have 3 stars. The food was absolutely delicious. Everything was a recommendation from Jason, and it did not disappoint. Although the food was great it definitely was overpriced.

Terrible experience!! Will never go to any Mastros again! From the service to the food!Dry hard steak, brussels sprouts under cooked and none of the food was seasoned at all. I order alcohol drink with no alcohol. The area around the location is very dirty.

I was apart of a party of 7 last night at the Downtown LA location and it was one of the worst high end dining experiences of my life. We were a 7 pm reservation for 7. From the moment we walked in we were treated like second tier patrons. We were seated in the back of the empty restaurant by the bathrooms at the only table without any tablecloths. It took about 15 mins for a waiter to come over and help us place our drink and app order. About 20 mins later our seafood tower came but no drinks or cocktails, those didn't arrive for about 10-15 more mins. After that when we were fully done with the tower is when the waiter decided to place our large dinner order and take the second round of drinks just so we would have them in time for dinner. When the dinner finally came about 30 mins later they had to clear the entire table of apps and what not while our food was sitting on trays. They didn't get any of the sauces for the steak right and it took another 15 mins to get those right. The steaks were overcooked and dry. We had to wrangle the waiter to palace our desert order and by this point we are 2.5 hours into this awful experience. Before the desert even comes he brings us the bill and at this point I am fully over this. We pay the bill and finally after 10 pm the desert comes (3+ hours into this journey) for $1500+ I expect a much higher level of service and food. They knew they were doing an awful job and everyone was upset yet they didn't offer anything off the bill. I won't be returning to any mastros and telling all my colleagues and associates how awful this experience was. Such a bummer of a night and an overall failure of hospitality.

I totally understand that post COVID many restaurants are under staffed but my experience here was far beyond those difficulties. I've been going to the Mastros in Beverly Hills for 10 years now and was excited to try the downtown LA option. Upon being seated it took over 30 minutes to get our first round of beverages. Once receiving our steaks they were cold, overcooked, and dry. This ended up being a three hour dinner where we were largely ignored the entire meal. This experience was one of the worst steakhouse experiences I've ever had and it's a shame as it was supposed to be a special occasion among friends. Just go to the Beverly Hills one or consider elsewhere when picking somewhere to dine.
Be the first to ReplyTotal disappointment.
The food was ok, but the service was horrible. The busser was more attentive and seemed to be more concerned about our dinner experience than our server was. It took one hour for us to get our dessert, and that was only after we reminded the busser, the server, and the manager. The party at the table beside us also had to address the manager about concerns with their service and their food. We paid $590 for one of the worst dinner experiences we've ever had. We will never be returning.
Be the first to ReplyWent to dinner here after the Grammys.
The staff was very friendly and welcoming and there was live music that day which was nice... the food was ok for the most part, spicy tuna was under whelming my friend said the pork chops were good but fries were somewhat stale ,I've been to other maestros in Beverly Hills and Malibu, and everything is always outstanding so I was a bit surprised when we asked for bread while waiting and they told us it would be an additional charge which we agreed to then the bread came after our meal. I've never been to a restaurant that charges extra for bread. Anyways I would still go to maestros again because of previous experiences
Be the first to ReplyI've been to Mastro's several times, at several locations,
I've been to Mastro's several times, at several locations, taking several different people bragging about how good the food is here. And unfortunately this location let me and my reputation down. The service and the vibes were great, but the steaks were cooked as precise and delicious as they usually are. I went with another person and we both ordered steaks medium, and they arrived medium well and it was just too dry for our liking. The mash potatoes were good but the Mac n cheese was average, or "mid" as it was described by my invitee. We were pretty hungry and didn't want to start a fuss and wait longer so we continued eating. But it was a disappointment to say the least, now my invitee thinks I don't have poor taste in food & looks poorly on the restaurant. Not sure what happened, but I know the food at this restaurant is top tier and I just hope it finds it way back because this place has truly been one of my favorite restaurants to go to.

The food was excellent but the service was way off, bordering on not good from the moment we walked in to the end. We arrived (group of 5) 10 minutes early. The place is empty but the table is not ready. 7-10 minutes later we asked if we should go to the bar. Host said sure. Bar was half full. Bartender completely ignored us until we literally flagged her down drawing the attention of everyone around. Mescal mule was ok but I wouldn't order again. At the table the server told us bread would be coming shortly for a total of 3 times in addition we asked another 3 times to other staff. During our hour plus dinner, bread was never served. No explanation was provided.. We told the server we were in a hurry to get to a game but we had to ask someone else for our check. Wedge salad and branzino were first rate and served promptly. Definitely recommend them. Their wine cellar is a showpiece. Be sure to check it out and try to see a bottle get rotated.
Be the first to ReplyWe came here on a Wednesday evening before the Lakers game.
We're trying to order healthy at the moment because we're working on our fitness! Husband was able to get reservations at the high tops which are great! Hailey was our server and she was very sweet, patient, and helpful! (And I ask A LOT of questions!) We ordered the following 1. 33 ounce ribeye w/ Bernaise, truffle, and peppercorn sauces 2. Mugaro lime roll 3. Cesar salad 4. Creamed spinach (small serving) 5. Garlic mashed potatoes (small serving) 6. Sea bass
