Slap your mama, come to Jesus great food
OH. MA. GAWD. Wolfgang Puck has done it again. Our meal at Merois was come to Jesus amazing. My husband and I decided to spend our anniversary having dinner at Merois and boy are we glad we did. Everything from the views, the service and the food were excellent. Like, worth every shinny penny excellent. You hope to have an experience when fine dining, and Merois delivers on great food and a great experience. We started the meal with tuna tartar over a crispy rice cake appetizer which came with soy sauce and a light, sweet dipping sauce. It was a perfect way to get our tastebuds ready for some very, very good food. The appetizer was delicious. If I had any constructive criticism it would be that the cake was too thick. The tartar was perfectly seasoned and had a hint of wasabi. The presentation was gorgeous. Kudos to the chef. We moved on to share Tempura Mushrooms, Crab Fried Rice and Maine Scallop Pad Thai. The tempura batter was simply magical. Seasoned to perfection and complimented the variety of mushrooms on the plate. The batter was light and delicious and the appetizer was a perfect compliment to the main courses we ordered. We had the mushrooms served at the same time as the main dishes. The Crab Fried Rice seems to be the signature dish here. Yes, it was delicious, and definitely perfect for one person but definitely sharable. The fried rice with duck, crab and veggies was wrapped in a perfect fluffy omelette and was expertly cooked and perfectly seasoned. It's the type of food you want to savor and not rush through. My guess is that the rice is cooked in broth or seasoned water and there are morsels of goodness throughout the dish. The Scallop Pad Thai, in my opinion, was the dish of the night. PERFECTLY cooked scallops accompanied by a variety of garnish and rice noodles. However, they serve this dish with a lemon grass sauce (on the side) that ruined the dish for us. It tasted like soap. They were very kind to give us a new, clean plate so we didn't have to worry about the sauce ruining the dish. The peanuts, garlic chips, red pepper flakes and lime slices were, again, the perfect accompaniment for this dish. I've never had scallops cooked this perfectly. The crust on each was amazing. Slap your mama good food. We have frequented a lot of high end restaurants in Los Angeles and have been to Spago and Cut, which we enjoyed. Merois takes it one step higher because you can tell the people in the kitchen LOVE what they do and LOVE turning out great food. Turning out great food is an art and each of these chefs and assistants are their own Cรฉzanne or Renoir. Everything was appealing to the eye as well as to the tongue. Hats off to Freddy, our server. He went above and beyond to make our dinner an experience, which we loved. Learning about the preparation of food adds to the experience and Freddy was definitely Merois' top cheerleader. He was joyous, professional and a delight. We can't wait to go back.

We dined here to celebrate a 17th birthday in our family and we were not disappointed. Situated in the heart of West Hollywood, the rooftop views and overall atmosphere of the restaurant is flawless. It has such a classy yet buzzing vibe and it was a real pleasure to dine here. Brenda, our waitress, was absolutely fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Her warm personality and engaging conversation made our experience even better. She is a real credit to Merois. Where do I begin with the food? There is a mouth-watering selection of tasty dishes on this menu and they all exceeded expectation. We enjoyed a range of Asian small plates with the Lobster Spring Rolls and Chicken Meatballs being amongst our favourites. If you are in the West Hollywood or Beverly Hills area and fancy a tasty bite to eat (or even a couple of drinks and a snack), this is the place to go! You will not be disappointed. Incredible views, a vibrant atmosphere and delicious food - what more could you possibly want? Merois, you were phenomenal. I hope to return in the future!

First meal on our recent trip to LA as we were staying in the Pendry Hotel we didn't wan to venture far after a long flight. We found the food a real mixed bag with some great dishes like the crab rice and Kung Pao Cauliflower whilst others like the lamb rack and octopus were very average especially for the price. The restaurant has a great ambience and the service was good but for the money better other restaurant options in West Hollywood.
Be the first to ReplyGreat View, Good Food
Beautiful place with great view of the city. We enjoyed the Peking Duck, however our daughter, who had been to Merois twice before, said it was not as good as it should've been. She was also unhappy with the Chaeong fun beef noodles, which replaced the chow fun beef noodles that she really liked. We also liked the lobster spring rolls, crab rice salad, chocolate souffle, chocolate cake, and Marjolaine cake. We had a reservation, but had to wait 30 minutes: the 8 of us standing in a cramped lobby area. There was no offer of a complimentary beverage while we waited. If you get photos taken, avoid standing by the pool as the light from the pool will give you a ghostly appearance. Service was excellent. There is valet parking.

I felt taken advantage of. The whole fried fish was greasy and on top of tempura mushrooms totally wrong , and the waiter didnโt really advise me. Everything was too greasy including the noodles and the cauliflower. The whole point of Asian is that it is NOT full of oil. Very expensive and the meal was not satisfying. Felt like eating ten bags of French fries.

Excellent Wolfgang Puck restaurant situated on the top of the Pendry Hotel in WeHo. Atmosphere and views are awesome, ask to be seated by the glass or on the patio. Food is great. We had the tomahawk and also the duck.
Be the first to Replyover priced
Table wasn't ready for 30 mins , told to sit by the pool on a lounger , lucky didn't dress up for the evening! the place is just too small to cram in all the instagram influencers and content producers! Very average food for over inflated price even for Hollywood standard!
Be the first to ReplyRomantic and very tasty rooftop dinner
A pleasant gift from my wife who invited me to this rooftop with a fantastic view of LA Very tasty food and curious desserts. In particular we really appreciated the noodles which had a flavour never tasted before, even if we are used to oriental cuisine. We recommend it!

The rooftop restaurant at the Pendry by Wolfgang Puck. The cuisine is western asian fusion. We had the sashimi, oysters and chicken skewers, all good. The main of stir fried noodles was too dry with undercooked beef. Certainly not great by asian standards. Good service
Be the first to ReplyExcellent!
We ate at the restaurant twice over the weekend while staying at the hotel. First time was lunch and all of the servers recommendations were amazing!. Oysters, cauliflower, crispy rice crab salad and use cheesecake. We also tried 3 cocktails, all amazing. Highly recommend this restaurant. Excellent!

This is a unique and eclectic restaurant atop the Pendry Hotel in West Hollywood - Los Angeles. The night we went was a special menu and event for HOLI . The cuisine was from India - with flavors of curry and other spices making each course amazing!
This restaurant is new and deserves recognition for not only its view but the lovely view and seating arrangements that are spacious.
New Hip Spot
Saturday Evening WeHo. A buzzing new Puck Restaurant. Yes it was busy. Nice spot on the top floor of the very elegant Pendry Hotel. Food is good and a little different from other Puck Restaurants, deeply Asian influenced. Excellent Service. Pricey though!
Be the first to ReplyWonderful Scene with Oily Food Sporadically Presented
Unique Points: the views at sunset, the sharing options, the couches and chairs decor
Low Points: every single dish has oil as a main ingredient and most are fried and stir-fried; the sushi rice is fried, the broccoli comes swimming in oil and garlic, the cauliflower soggy crispy after over frying, the sashimi of the day swimming in soy-oil, brussel sprouts in oily nuts soupy bowl
even the SUSHI's rice below the veggies and fish are deep-fried cubes of crisp rice, making this a TAKE on sushi but in no way sushi;
our server Freddy M was hardly at our table as he took care mostly of the inside diners and rarely came to check on us; nobody suggested refills or other drinks so we never continued drinking
the first-go of all the menus (cocktail, alcohol, dinner, dessert) were presented as EMPTY binders, quickly remedied
our bill needed to be adjusted two times for its errors before we signed
High Points: the sunset sky
The Big 3s:
Food: oily, huge discrepancies in portion size for sharing (which servers suggest doing), all super salty and over seasoned soy sauce
Service: sporadic and lengthy as Freddy was with us and then he wasn't
Atmosphere: one of city's best views and buzzing scenes in both hotel/open and private club bar
New years eve celebration
We were looking forward to a New years eve celebration at Merois and ring in 2022 but it turned out to be a very big dissapointment. We are a family of 4 adults and we made our reservation in late November where Merois/Pendry emailed the menu for the New years for our review. Imagine our surprise when we arrived at the restaurant on New years eve and the menu was totally different, which We werenโt informed of and with less servings and the price was still 350 dollars pr person.
We gave it a chance - Big mistake! The food was uneventful, Way below standard and totally overpriced. One of our steaks was Cut wrong, tough and the waiter just Said โOhโ and didnโt offer a replacement. One of the waiters spilled a glas of champagne on my dress and at a place like Merois we would expect some kind of compensation (a free glass of Wine or something) but nothing!
Overall a Big disapointment. The only plus is the location and the wiew.
Definitely a restaurant I'd go back to....
I'm still thinking about the lemon desert that was totally sublime. That alone is worth a return visit. Yum!
Started off poorly, we were seated right beside the kitchen despite a mostly empty restaurant. We asked to be moved and as a side benefit, ended up with a far superior waiter who was friendly, helpful, and paid attention to us.
Hamachi tartare, grilled octopus and rock cod Tom Kha were all excellent. The mushroom tempura was good but not really deserving of the rave reviews. Eggplant was dense and heavily seasoned.
Pretty restaurant. Not cheap but worth it for the food quality, service and location.
Dinner at Marois November 12, 2021
This restaurant is simply stated horrible!
Food and wine is extremely mediocre quality and is very overpriced.
Outdoors area does not really exists. Small area nest to a very loud bar with plastic wall covering the rxtetior.
Me and my husband had tried it for the first time.
We ordered toro sushi, Peking duck for two people, Blue fin tuna ceviche.
Instead of Toro sashimi you get a meshed up tuna. Do not expect Toro slices.
Peking duck is very small for two people and is overdone to a degree where there is no crispy skin, but a completely over-burned dried up skin. We asked the waitress to bring us another duck that was not so over-burned, instead the waitress returned with the same dried up, cut up duck claiming that it was another duck. This Waitress was a liar.
There were hardly any vegetables served with burned duck. It is customary to serve small pieces of fresh vegetables to be wrapped together with the duck meat inside the pancake. However, this restaurant served so few pieces of vegetables that was not sufficient even for one person not two.
The vine is very mediocre quality.
We were so disappointed, that we decided to skip the desert.
Stay away from this place.
There are much better restaurants in LA.
Gorgeous view, exquisite food and attentive staff make this a win all around!
I brought a group here for dinner and had a wonderful experience.
In summary, the service is A+ - very fast, attentive and informed. The menu was filled with options catering to all tastes and restrictions. We ordered a perfect amount of food including drinks, starters, entrees and desserts and the total came to ~$100 per person. Its set up to be more family-style (larger and more expensive portions for example). This worked well however it was odd that we had to keep asking for serving utensils for each dish to avoid individuals placing their own forks into the shared plates. The food was really perfect bursting with flavor and texture. Highlights definitely include Mushroom Tempura, Brussels Sprouts, Steamed Snapper and the puff pastry baked Branzino. For dessert, the Dark Chocolate Souffle and Baked Apple turnovers were outstanding.
Note that the menu they have featured on their website is not accurate - the actual menu had mostly different items so either phone first or ask them to update their site. Valet parking is located at the backside of the Pendry Hotel (located off Olive) and costs $25 (be sure to get validated - wonder what the cost would be w/out validation!). Restaurant is located on the Rooftop level adjacent to the hotel pool. Gorgeous views of LA and surrounding areas.
Truly Exceptional
Spectacular view that is upstaged by food and service. Had several appetizers (tuna tartar on crispy rice cake, eggplant), duck with pancakes, root vegetables, and more. Really a wonderful/memorable meal. Staff very friendly, helpful and engaging.
