for bday
average and expensive food.. lousy services.. food served was incorrect. we have informed the waiter. reply received was in bad tone and attitude. ~saying that can you take it, if not, we will re-do. We have in the end taken in the wrong order (to save on food wastage), but we feel that the waiter attitude can be better.
Be the first to ReplyAverage food, service commendable
Tried most of their recommended dishes. Taste was average. Entrance to the restaurant was quite dirty.

Love the nice good, nice ambience, nice music. Food was excellent!💯. Great place to host birthday celebration as well as private events! I love their La La soup, mala chicken, truffle noodle, saucy crab as well as their char siew bao which were all introduced by one of the staff there, Darren. I Will definitely go back again and try other dishes. Recommend! 💯

Interesting menue with yummy food! Tried saucy crab and egg affair, 4 seasons of tofu, truffle mein and desserts. I like the dishes as in something different and unique. Good to share!
Be the first to ReplyLychee scallop is a must try
Decided to give this restaurant a try with my family. First dish that was being served was the Lychee scallop and that remained the most unforgettable dish. Lovely ambience, would be back to try their private dining menu.
Be the first to ReplyExcellently presented set menu in an exquisite environment and building
A cute oriental restaurant in a refurbished shophouse which previously lodged the Indochine. You enter through the main bar entrance.
Tables are generally small, which will pose a problem if you order multiple dishes for sharing. The menu is not extensive, but if you want to save time thinking why not try their set menu which is good value for money? That’s what we did today. There’s only one set menu if you are eating in the main hall - the “private set menus” are only if you booked a private dining room - quite silly idea, if you ask me. We had been willing to pay.
Anyway, we were suitably impressed by each dish, except for the fried rice - the garnishing was too “wet” for my taste. The fried prawns, pork rib, cod fish, dimsum trio were memorable for me. Plates were beautiful, presentations were inviting, the delivery was innovative. Default drink is plain water (cold or warm), though I would have preferred hot Chinese tea.
I would like to return to try their main menu and their dimsum lunch.
Good foods and service
Friend and I enjoyed the foods. Service staff are generally attentive. Love the music but I expect the lighting to be dimmer to match the restaurant name
Be the first to ReplyCNY set lunch
Service was not bad, food is average, most dishes are fried items, quality not equal to value, most likely not go back again.
Be the first to ReplyCNY SET LUNCH NEEDS MORE IMPROVEMENT
The dishes serve are mostly fried food and most dishes are oily in general. The first dish yu sheng has fruit flies on the salmon. We have requested to change the yu sheng for a few times and still find fruit flies on it.
Would not recommend the cny set lunch.
MIMI was awesome!
It was my mum's birthday and we wanted a Chinese restaurant with good food. MIMI worked. The ambiance was great. The staff was attentive. The food was very nice. Overall, it was a lovely dinner... Will be back.

Love the ambience. Fascinating facade and great use of the 150- year building. From the old comes new take on chinese cuisine. Well done
Be the first to ReplyForbidden city beckons
Chinoiseries-themed spots might be fading out now but it still tugs my chords and I absolutely love a Shanghai Tang feel anytime. The entire quarters – Mimi or “secret” in Chinese is housed in a forbidden city like gated compound. The stones and antique/olden touches are quite a sight to behold. Get past the solid walls and the dimly-lit, bright neon-lights pop out to a promise of sultry fun. Downstairs is Hush by Mimi Bar / restaurant where lounge is the theme. Upstairs is Mimi Restaurant, which is cavernous with the right oriental touches. Quiet elegance reigns supreme – from ambience to food. We had gorgeously presented Truffle Beancurd roll – crunchy beancurd with bursts of Ikura fish roe saltiness. House signature Crab and Egg Affair is presented in. a ying and yang fashion – something I haven’t seen so the visual feasting precedes the real feasting. 4 Season Tofu was the most lacklustre. We also had the flavourful black pepper beef and chicken soup. Next time you get bitten by the Chinoiserie bug, you know which stony compound to saunter into. #eatstylishtravelstylish

Love the modern interpretatio of classic chinese flavour, we are pleasantly surprised with the quality and overall experience.
Be the first to ReplyInteresting find
Out for our usual food hunt and decided on MiMi at Clarke Quay which was opened in 2019. The restaurant is in a building of it's own, situated on the 2nd level with level 1 being a drinking area. Ambience is great with a great variety of choices. We tried the below recommended dishes: -
Escargot Spring Roll
Superior Chicken Soup with Matsutake Mushroom
Rose Wine Flambeed Lamb Shank
Steam-Fried Cod Fish with Special Sauce
Saucy Crab & Egg Affair
The Unsubtle Truffle Mein
Berry Jelly
Portion is huge with a bold and interesting use of seasonings and sauces. Presentable and value for money. The serving time is short, food are served piping hot with decent customer service.
