It took almost 20 minutes after being seated to be acknowledged, and another 40 minutes to get our drinks, which were basic (a Diet Coke which was served in a can, an iced tea, a mango lassi, and a chai). My Mangolicious mixed drink allegedly had vodka and champagne in it as well as mango purée and lime, but it didn't taste like it had any alcohol in it despite the $13 price. It tasted more like an over-priced mango smoothie. My son's $8 mango lassi was served room temperature telling me it was sitting for quite some time before we got it. I'm hoping he doesn't get sick tonight because yogurt should be consumed cold. My daughter is a major chai enthusiast- she has a blog on the best chai's around the world, so she knows her stuff. She had a hard time drinking this one. She said it was one of the worst she's had. When the food finally came (well over an hour after we ordered), it was decent, not amazing. Our Bhaji appetizer was soggy and not crispy, under seasoned, and tasteless. Even a little salt would have given it some flavor. The cilantro sauce accompanying it helped a bit. The "bread basket" (naan assortment) was tasty. I wish I could've tried the garlic naan but my family devoured it. *I will say, the strangest thing about the meal was that the waitress took it upon herself to cancel my side order of Garlic naan without telling me. When I asked why it never came out with my entree, she said she decided I didn't need it since we had ordered the bread basket earlier. The reason WHY I didn't take the garlic naan from the assortment for the family was BECAUSE I ordered a side of it to have with my meal. Then when I was told she cancelled my order, I had already missed out on having it. She should've asked if I wanted it instead of changing my order. The Chicken Tikka Masala sauce was nicely seasoned. There was a medium heat to it, however the chicken chunks were overdone making them tough and dry. The dish itself ($22) was over-priced considering the portion was small and it only had chicken pieces. Also, because it's served ala-carte, the basmati rice (which was plain, despite the description) was an additional $4. All-in-all, the food taste itself was not too bad, but the painfully slow service from start to finish does not make it a place we will return to. The icing on the cake was the 18% gratuity automatically added on for any parties of 4 or more, AND they add on a 4% kitchen appreciation fee on top of that! The service was not worth 22%.
