Eat like there’s no t’Moro!
Lovely lunch experience : cool vibe / cool service / great food / great space / great location. Thank you for a memorable time Moro
Be the first to ReplyDecent food but horrible service
Meal was OK but completely spoiled by the aggressive service. If you want tables back in 90 minutes you have to serve fast - they didn’t and we ended up feeling bullied by our waiter. An unpleasant experience.
Be the first to ReplyGreat dinner at Moro Restaurant!
Fantastic dinner at Moro Restaurant. The food is really creative and the quality is very high. Sofia was the waitress at our table, she was extremely helpful and she gave us great advice on food and drinks!
Be the first to ReplyAvoid at all costs
Was violently ill after dining at Moro. Called them and they initially confirmed they would refund me my meal IF I presented a doctors cert. Doctor confirmed today I suffered from toxic food poisoning. Today, upon confirming that I could get a cert, Moro decided not to refund me. I would avoid this restaurant.

Really good feel about the restaurant as soon as we walked in. Lovely welcome, relaxed atmosphere. We were really well looked after by Isabel. Food was really creative and amazing flavours. The trout main and Malaga ice cream desert, bring my standouts. We will be back.

First time dining here - food was very good and had a lovely server who was really attentive and recommended a really delicious wine. Thank you Sofia!
Be the first to ReplyAmazing!!!🤩
This place is really amazing. The food was exceptional. I had the fish soup as a starter and the chicken as a main. So flavoursome. Our waitress Sofia was attentive, friendly and made some excellent recommendations. We’re coming back for sure.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful Experience at Moro
During our few day stay with family in Clerkenwell, my wife and I were able to escape for a date night. My father in law recommended Moro, and we couldn’t have been any more pleased with the experience. When we walked in from the cold wet English night, we were greeted by our waitress, Sofia, who made us feel welcome the entire evening. While the main menu looked amazing, we settled on a few cocktails and multiple selections tapas menu. Being a Tennessee native, I’ve had my fair share of cocktails, but their Old Fashioned was one of the best I’ve ever had. My wife also enjoyed her Elderflower Sour cocktail as well. Insofar as tapas, we had the olives, potatoes, chorizo, chickpeas, and baba ganoush. Each one was wonderful. The atmosphere was exactly as one would hope, and at no point did we feel rushed - it’s as if we were a guest in their home. Definitely recommended if you’re looking for an excellent meal with great ambiance.

Good enough place for those who love meat and two veg. Unless you are keen on meat and dairy, this is not a place for you. We tried in a busy month but it is probably better at other times.
Be the first to ReplyAlways wonderful
This remains our favourite restaurant for special celebrations. The food is always amazing and Sofia was such a lovely attentive waitress who made the occasion extra special
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, great service, lovely atmosphere
Great food, great service, lovely atmosphere. One person said it was the best meal they'd had this year, another said it was the food was the best thing they'd ever put in their mouth. Loved every dish.
Be the first to ReplyA little disappointing
I have been here a few times over the years and had the most wonderful meals. I tell so many people to go here and was excited to take my family. Great atmosphere, charming staff but the food was quite average. Our table had a variety of dishes and consensus was from rather average to didn't really enjoy. Such a shame as bill was £285 for 4 people 2 courses 1 bottle of wine.

lunch with brother ( 66 today!) and friend of as many years ...Been a few times before and love the place ...Today was good ...House ( Spanish white Te Quireo was vg and the red (Elias Mora) chosen by my friend ( £44 a bottle )was also v good ...but it should be for that price. Great service from Nicolete (I think one t or was it two?? apologies and fingers crossed for Moldova) and Bernadette ...My friends had the lamb which looked great ...I went for veggie option ( out of choice ) which was good ...In summary all fine but did not shoot the lights out ...my first visit XX years ago was magical...with my Chairman( thank you Alex!) and a few partners pre Xmas we arrived before noon and had chilled sherry and did not leave before 17/1800 when the Xmas decorations in the road twinkled merrily...happy days ...today not so memorable...but good whilst not cheap ...our bill was over 300...half of which was wine Would I go back YES ....but maybe other places before ??
Be the first to ReplyLunch at Moro
I have used Moro cookbooks for several years but never been to the epicentre! On this visit to London, we made time for a Moro lunch break. Genuine atmosphere with genuine food. There is a reason why Moro has been here for 25 years! Loved the menu, slightly pricey though.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing
We visited Moro a few years ago and were so impressed. On a recent trip to London between Christmas and New Year we booked again and was so disappointed. The cava cocktail was mundane and overpriced. I remember much better presentation last time . The main courses at over £30 each had no veg, just a few leaves of salad and potatoes and the presentation was sloppy . there were no vegetables available on the menu to buy. It was quite frankly much poorer than 2 cheaper restaurants we visited in London. My husband emailed the restaurant afterwards but they did not respond. We wouldn't recommend it now despite their lovely cook books
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced and very disappointing
Overpriced and very disappointing Expectation was high as the food has always been exceptionally good. Unfortunately this was not the case on this occasion. The prices had escalated and the food was below average. The pork dish was excellent but the lamb was horrible. Covered in celery and gravy and really ugly to look at. Fish dish was oily and nothing exceptional. Our waitress was lovely and gave us free deserts to apologise for the poor lamb dishes which were absolutely delicious. Sadly they looked like they had been dropped on the plate but tasted wonderful. All in all I would say this is now extremely overpriced food and a restaurant that has lost its spark with poor presentation and below average cuisine.
Be the first to ReplyWouldn't recommend based on the staff
The staff we came into contact with really let this place down with the exception of one young lady. The man who'greeted' me when I arrived: no smile or welcome, found my booking then proceeded to leave me standing there while he fiddled around on the booking screen, I didn't feel wcomed or valued as a customer. The 'we are doing you a favour' attitidude extended to the waiter. I wasn't overly hungry and asked how big the starters were; "well, they,re starters, they are as big or small as you would expect" said with a condescending grimace. Luckily, there was one young lady who was perhaps more trained or experienced who I asked and she was a lot more helpful. I beguiled paying the 12.5% service charge, I would have preferred the whe lot go to the young lady. Unfortunately when a service charge is just added the waiters who can't be bothered still benefit. We opted for the mezze platter. It was fine, size-wise was right for us to share as a light meal. Couldn't really assess the quality of the food overall but the dips were perfectly fine. I wouldn't say it was a pleasurable experience, some training for the staff in hospitality and customer service would make a big improvement. I wanted to give 2 or even one star based on how I felt but the young lady was good and the food was ok As an aside, open bits of salt and pepper on the table for people to stick their fingers in is particularly unhygienic
Be the first to ReplyMarvellous Moro
Having waited years to visit (we live up north!) we were not disappointed, the atmosphere was buzzing for a Monday evening and the Staff attentive but relaxed and friendly. The food was just what we had hoped for, amazingly tasty with lots of flavours, a real fusion of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine. My wife never realised chorizo and chestnut soup could taste so amazing! Our only regret is that we don’t visit London more frequently!
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced
Have not been to Moro for ages. Main courses at £30+ are way overpriced for the quality of the food. Would not go back.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing
6 of us for lunch yesterday. Poor. Surly waiter, average food (pate consistency like cat poo!), large bill. Used to be so good. Sad really. Not coming again. Too many good alternatives.
Be the first to ReplySeriously good
A celebration meal for 4 following a recommendation from friends. Lively atmosphere and the decor had an authentic feel, reminding me of many bars and restaurants I've visited throughout Spain. Friendly, attentive, knowledgeable staff made sure we never had to wait more than a minute or so for any request. The food was seriously good. Starters of Pigeon, Spicy squid and Chilled yoghurt, courgette and mint soup. Mains of vegetable Mezze and lamb with sherry vinegar turnip, and desserts of rose ice cream, fig leaf ice cream and a Cheeseboard. The presentation is not fussy. You get a hearty whack of Salsa Verde, not a prissy smear across the plate. The crispy potatoes are not arranged into a replica of the Sistine Chapel. What you DO get is quality ingredients treated with respect and served in good portions.
Be the first to ReplyBye Bye Moro
Two years since we last visited one of our favorite London restaurants and a huge disappointment. Maybe because it was a midweek lunch in August and neither Sam or Sam Clarke were on site but the welcome and service was impersonal bordering on surly and the food indifferent for the price. Two of our 4 mains arrived at least 5 minutes after the other two. The waitress merely shrugged when we commented on this. Restaurants are clearly struggling at present and the place was mostly empty through the lunch period. None of the vibrancy and panache that we so loved about Moro over the years. Bill for 4 with two bottles of wine just under £300. We won't be back and doubt they care.
Be the first to ReplyVery disappointing and overpriced - has gone downhill
You expect something special (or at least tasty) when shelling out £15 for starters and £30 for mains. We ordered two different fish mains (seared mackerel and roast hake) and both were hugely underwhelming. Bland, soggy food that was barely seasoned and badly cooked. The yogurt cake dessert was just a small piece of average sponge cake drowning under a heap of over-lemoned yogurt. The restaurant appears to be living on its past success, and has not invested in training new staff or developing its menu. I thought maybe we just had bad luck with our dishes or day of visit, but other reviewers have clearly had the same experience. This place does not deserve to survive offering such average food at such inflated prices. Service was decent but the wine recommended also seemed very overpriced for what it was.

Loved the location in exmouth market, such a buzzing area with lots of eateries and bars- great for a summer evening, we sat outside. Food was good but I wouldn't say exceptional compared to other places we ate while in London.
Be the first to ReplyVery disappointing
That’s the second chance I give to this (in my opinion overrated) restaurant and unfortunately it didn’t improve a bit since last time I went there. 1) the place is crowded, too many table to maximise the income but is impossible to have a proper chat. 2) the food is mediocre and very expensive (£30 for a main and £12 for a starter ... up to £12 for a glass of decent wine!!). 3) they don’t ask how you want the meat to be cooked and my lamb was basically raw, also not great quality. 4) service is slow. Waitresses are not particularly good. 5) the maze platter is basically like you can find for £5 at Lower Marsh food market but it costs £24 ... On a Positive side the bread is good. Overall the value for money is suboptimal and I really don’t understand the relative high rating of this restaurant.
