Steak Lovers, Seafood Lovers, Bread Buffs, EAT YOUR HEART
Steak Lovers, Seafood Lovers, Bread Buffs, EAT YOUR HEART OUT! Other than a disappointing deflated souffle, this Morton's was DELICIOUS! Colossal Shrimp Alexander gives you 6 out of this world enormous shrimp marinaded with a yummy sauce that I can't really explain. All I know is that it was a party in my mouth. My mom ordered the Grilled Salmon, and the enormous piece was grilled to perfection. Super super moist on the inside with the most sensational crust on the outside. The Five-Onion soup was pretty good, except it had a little too thick a layer of cheese over the top, but that's subjective. We ordered a caesar salad and had them split it up between two plates, and it honestly felt like two orders of the salad. Their bread is amazing. It comes in the cutest puffy dome! Finally, the service was most excellent. Even though our souffle was a disaster (I couldn't have noticed because I'm not a huge souffle eater but my mom has high souffle standards), they took it off our check and offered us a complementary after-dinner drink and another souffle if we wanted to wait. So, go for it =)
Be the first to ReplyI popped my $1000 dinner cherry at this Morton's.
Six of us rang up $1500+. When you buy "a couple of lobsters for the table to share," things like this can happen. And that's the basis of my primary complaint about Morton's: it's very expensive, and while the food is good, indeed very good, it's not great. Thus, every time I walk out of the restaurant, I experience the same kind of regret most of my past girlfriends experienced the morning after. A sort of nagging, "that wasn't worth it and now I feel slightly angry" sort of feeling. And since they never let me slide on that kind of disappointment, I'm not letting Morton's slide, either.
Be the first to ReplyThe food and service at this Morton's were flawless.
The steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked and the side dishes added so much to the meal. Wine was good and the dessert was to-die-for. The server was friendly, super-attentive (without being annoying) and very knowledgeable. The atmosphere was warm and comfortable.I wouldn't have changed a thing. I'll definitely be back.

Terric food but oh, so pricey! But oh, so tasty!Impeccable service - attentive but not bothersome. The Minneapolis restaurant's decor is very traditonal -- lots of wood, quiet, low lighting but more than enough to read the menu and see your partner. And the food (steaks, salads, seafood) is so good. The prices, if I recall correctly, were in ballpark of mostly in the $40s for entrees on an a la carte menu. On the other hand, it was good. And large servings.I love to eat but these really are too large. Or perhaps it makes up for the price. After all, I got two more meals out of my prime rib doggie bag.
