Must see in NYC
This place is just awesome, the queue can feel like your waiting an eternity to get in. Once you get seated you’re quickly served and the food is ok. The entertainment is brilliant with outstanding singers and performances. If you’re in NYC a must see.

This was a fun experience. The wait staff sings while working. We were included in 2 performances. The food was good and staff were friendly. There is an automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill and they also accept tips in a bucket, which they took around to tables. I would recommend a visit here if visiting NYC.
Be the first to ReplyGreat experience but a little overhyped….
After being recommended Ellen’s by some friends we were really excited to visit, however we’re unfortunately underwhelmed. Food was average - the meat in the Philly cheese steak would be classed as nearer kebab meat in the UK but was alright. The singing was great and there was some really talented individuals & the commentary was funny from the main host. Although the continued request for tips got a bit grating - the first time they came round with the bucket we were more than happy to put some in, however by the second and third time it had started to rub us the wrong way. They also don’t seem very happy to be singing? - I’m sure it must get old day in day out but it doesn’t really help sell the fantasy.

First time in NYC and after seeing Tik Tok videos on this diner we thought to try- Brilliant! Lovely food and entertainment. The staff can singggggg! Cheerful and happy place to go, instantly lifts your mood and service as spot on - will be back again

Food was less mediocre. Watch out for the onions they put a ton on and there really greasy. Most of the time it’s some guy talking about his failed acting career and asking for tips. The ice cream is ok nothing special and the service is kinda bad when they don’t give you straws and they are singing instead of bringing your sauce. 4/10

No queues on a winters day in March. Great singers, food and atmosphere. A must venue to attend if you love musical theatre.
Be the first to ReplyFun experience with average food!
Great experience! I think the food was overpriced food for the quality, but I got a salad and had no issues with food being cold (some other reviewers had poor food). Our server was really awesome and attentive, but I know not all of them are. It's super fun listening to the music and dancing!!! The place is jam packed and very loud, but I was expecting that going into the place.

Don’t let the queue to get in put you off as it does move very quickly. Actors who are between jobs tend to work here so whilst eating they are singing and the restaurant has a party atmosphere. The food and drinks are pricey and the food at best is average. But the atmosphere is great so is still worth a visit

I loved this Diner so much, I would 100% Recommend. the waiters sing, and the service is excellent. This restaurant is perfect for Brunch and Breakfast!
Be the first to ReplyFunny and pricey
The Diner is located close to Times Square and due to the fact that it’s famous, you have to expect a waiting time before entering. The food here is good, big portions and funny entertainment. It’s too pricey considering what’s offered

Visited in June as Mr Ken Sturn had arranged a very special visit for myself. Was running late due to my flight being delayed but once arrived received such an amazing experience from all of the staff. The atmosphere/drinks and food were fantastic. I can’t recommend this place enough - has to be on your top to-do list when visiting THE BIG APPLE!!!! 🍎 🎶 💃🏻

A friend recommended we eat here but told me nothing about what to expect. This place is fantastic! Every server is also a performer. The vocal talent of each one of them is truly amazing. Just go! Stand in the line if there is one. We went on a Friday around 11 am and had no waiting. The night before after a Broadway show ended the line was down the street. Go! You won’t regret it.

So much fun! And the food was good too...our teenagers loved it. Even my husband who doesn't like musicals loved it. Worth the 15 minute queue for a table for brunch.

Wow! Just wow! The performers (waiters/waitresses) were extremely talented, and we were shocked and amazed with the deliciousness of the food. One of the best chicken and waffles I have ever had. But next time I need to save room for a milkshake!

The atmosphere was fun, but the food was kind of bland. If you can accept that the food isn’t why you’re there, this is a great place! The staff are incredibly talented and the performances are so much fun!

We promised ourselves that this trip to NYC we’d make it to Ellen’s to say we’d done it. The queue the night before was off putting but this morning we thought we’d check out what the breakfast might be, and bingo we got straight in Ok let’s be honest the food for the price is at best alright, but that is not why you come here. The waiters were epic. I hadn’t expected them to be so talented , so much fun , nor so committed to their job. Thy belt a number out and then immediately are back at their tables I wish them all every success and thanks for the most musical of breakfasts

I’d compare this place to TGI Fridays but with singing! If you like the sort of food that TGI’S offers then this is the place for you. Even if not ,it’s worth the visit just to listen to the singing staff. They are all broadway hopefuls with amazing voices. It’s a great atmosphere the place was bouncing when we went, if you have kids it’s an absolute must to visit. Service was very good , staff very friendly. Only downsides are it’s not cheap , but nowhere is really around this location, and the tables are a bit crammed in.
Be the first to ReplyIf you’re into musical theatre then go if you have spare time, if not you’re not missing out
Visited here at the back end of January. The entertainment made up for the under whelming food.
Whilst I appreciate these are west end actors working as well as potentially auditioning/still in theatre school, the ask for donations is a little much on top of the over priced menu.
I wouldn’t rush back but it’s one thing ticked off a New York bucket list.
Great fun!
Milkshakes were tasty and the servers were so much fun! All of the servers work so hard to serve food and sing entertaining songs. Great night!

Had to wait outside for about 10 minutes but suddenly the whole line was let in and upstairs was empty so not sure what we were queuing for. Had chocolate chip pancakes and a cup of tea. Had to ask for milk and sugar as none was provided which then took another 5 minutes to come. My pancakes were so dry that I couldn’t eat all of them. Served with maple syrup and butter but needed some cream or similar to make it edible. The price is already expensive, you obviously then tip but what really annoyed me was the red headed lady walking around while people are eating shaking a bucket in peoples faces asking for more money! I went here based on friends recommendations but wish I looked at trip advisor and avoided!
Be the first to ReplySo good we visited it twice!
The staff were simply amazing! Friendly, funny and supremely talented.
I should add that the food is also delicious. We had breakfast on the first visit which consisted of a cream and salmon bagel for me and eggs benedict for my wife.
We had lunch on our second visit. I had a tasty burger and my wife went for a salad. We then had lovely cocktails - a Tom Collins and an Old Fashioned.
It has a great atmosphere and you could stay all day listening to the staff perform!
A must for anyone visiting NYC!
First stop in NYC? Obviously it should be the Stardust diner! The food was great, but the amazing waitstaff are what make this place so amazing. Your servers all audition for a job there, and boy do they put on a show for you! The entire time you are there, you are treated to fantastic live Broadway showtimes. Prepare to wait a bit to get in the door, but the wait is so worth it! You will be glad you went!

Walked by this place and Saw a Long queue outside. So decided to come the next Day for breakfast. Due to jetlag We came by early (around 07.30 am). What a pleasant surprice. Amazing waiters and highly entertaining. Amazing and fun place. Food was ok. A bit unhealthy with Only Very few healthy options. Only negative thing about the place.
Ended up with eating breakfast here three times same week :)
An absolute must visit
You need to add Ellen’s to your list of places to visit when in NYC! The singers were amazing and the atmosphere was great fun. The food and cocktails were great!

Was here 8 years ago also and almost nothing had changed. The room was just a little more worn and dirty. Those who sang were a little worse than last time and the toilets were so cruel that I turned in the door. The food was okay and the menu exactly the same as 8 years ago.
