Authentic thai food. But queues form by 545 pm. Go offpeak . Many thai staff, i like that its food is authentic, beef noodle soup, mango salad, prawn cakes, fish cakes โฆ but the fish slices in tom yum soup are breaded on the outside. Those who cannot take flour may not like it
Be the first to ReplyPoor service, very rude staff, mismanaged queues
The staffs attitudes were shockingly unpleasant. Theyโd shoo you away despite the queue system calling your number for your approaching turn. Would not recommend the Vivo branch. Nakhon needs to rethink their hirings. Because we were shooed away we left only to get a spam of messages that our number was called. Yikes!
Be the first to ReplyAmazing Thai Foods only at Nakhon Kitchen
Incredible, Superb, Amazing, Authentic, Fantastic, Wonderful!!!! And my praise goes on for Nakhon Kitchen - the best, most delicious and truly authentic Thai restaurant I've ever been outside of Thailand. I've been to Thailand several times so I know what Thai foods are and how they taste like. Luckily in SG, there are many Thai restaurants to choose from but nothing comes closer to Nakhon Kitchen. Ironically just this year, it s it my first time to know it from my friend who suggested it is her favorite Thai restaurant out there. I'm always a Vivo city regular so at the basement near Fairprice I always see a long line at this beautifully decorated facade of Nakhon Thai in grey backdrop and white letters. At the cashier there's cute little Thai ladies statue dressed in traditional clothing.QR code check-in is a must before you enter. The dining area is very spacious with their shiny dark brown table made of wood, properly safe distanced between each other of more than 1 meter especially the ones in the center. Then at the back is their huge kitchen with an island counter for drinks and utensils. What delighted me more is the background music mostly playing Thai songs even their famous Isan songs which made my experience even more uniquely Thai. Just a tip: If you wanna avoid crows and long queues please go on weekdays and off hours. All over their wall you could see different paintings depicting their foods and on the lower left corner are the paintings of their Majesties the King & Queen. Once you settled at your table you would see their laminated menus and promotions. Then they will immediately serve you in the house water and your dining plate, spook and fork. This is a plus for me just like my other restaurant reviews I truly admire those that provide free water. If you look at their menu you would be surprised how affordable and cheap they are similar to prices or even lower than those in food courts and/or hawker centers. Most of them are in the range of 5 to 6 SGD except their seafood and fish dishes, with the latter costing around 20++ which is good for sharing. The menu is truly authentic Thai both mainstream and traditional Isan dishes. They offer Starters which include Spring rolls, Salads are the best which include Tom yum, Mango Salad & Minced Salad, Soups which include Tom Yum Kung and Tom Jeud, Curries which include Green Curry Chicken, Their Mains include Seafood, Chicken which has Garlic Fried Chicken & Gai Kra Paow, Beef, Pork which included Garlic Fried Pork and Pad Kra Paow, Vegetables which has Stir Fried Kang Kong, then their famous Rice & Noodle dishes which include Fried Rice and Pad Thai and last but not the least for Desert they have the famous Mango Sticky rice. Beverages include Thai famous Lemongrass juice and Thai Milk Tea. I haven't tried them all yet but I do have my favorites which I will write on this review. They are Pad Thai, Tom Jued, Garlic Fried Pork, Som Tam and Minced Beef Salad. Pad Thai is by far the famous stir-fry noodle dish from Thailand and it stands by its name. And it is my favorite dish here in Nakhon. The rice noodles are perfectly cooked soft but not too mushy ad not too sticky. Their sauce is spot on - tangy Tamarind sauce and a bite of saltiness from the fish sauce. It has tons of ingredients which include Fried Tofu, Shrimps, Scrambled eggs, Chili flakes, Bean Sprouts and a slice of Lime to finish off the perfect harmony of flavors in this superbly delicious noodle dish. And to top it all off it is just 6 dollars!!! My next favorite is Tom Jued or Tofu & Vegetable soup with Rice vermicelli noodles. If you're looking for a healthy & hearty meal then this is it. The clear broth soup is refreshing and you could taste the fresh flavors of herbs, spices and tofu in it. Soup main ingredient is the soft tofu or soy bean curd. Soft, delicate and fresh it is a perfect meal to balance out a spicy or salty dish. Rest of the ingredients include fried pork, shrimp, carrot, some cabbage and cilantro to top it off. Pair it with a chili fish sauce and you're in heaven. Then I loved their Garlic Fried Pork, a very simple sliced pork meat fried to crispiness and perfection. But despite that its packed with garlic, savory and salty flavors. This is an excellent comfort food dish and pair it with rice and chili fish sauce - your day is complete! And last but not the least their Salads which is a must for me every time I'm here. Thai Salads are the best in the world truly authentic, original and just have the freshest ingredients. They are the counterpart of Western salads we know. No. 1 for me is their Som Tam or Papaya Salad. Originally from Isan region of Northeastern Thailand it has grown to be a worldwide famous dish. It's a simple salad with Green Papaya slices as its base with super hot chilis, peanuts, onions and lettuce. Its dressing is made of lime, fish sauce and palm sugar - a great combination. It's a spicy salad with tangyness, sweetness and saltiness. It is also a great vegetarian dish and perfect with rice and most specially fried and grilled dishes. Som Tam for me is a great choice if you're looking for a delicious Thai salad. The other salad which I just recently discovered is their Spiced Minced Salad. Similar to Som Tam, the dressing is made of Fish sauce, Lime juice and Palm sugar but the base is minced meat. I've tried the Beef and glad I made the perfect choice. The savory beef flavor blends well with the sauce plus the freshest vegetable ingredients which include cucumber, cilantro, shallots, chili, lettuce, and asparagus beans. This is not just a salad but a great dish as well perfect for a hot cup of Jasmine rice. Their salads only cost 5 SGD yet it is way way better than other salads out there. So those are my top 5 favorite dishes so far here in Nakhon Kitchen but I'm not done yet I will be back for more and this time I would like to try their seafood and fish dishes. Serving is quite fast and the staff are very fast, efficient and friendly. Upon checkout payment is only made via cash but its worth it because of their very affordable price range. As a foodie myself I know what is best and what is delicious and what is reasonably priced. For me, Nakhon Kitchen hits the mark and I strongly recommend visiting this place and try their Amazing Thailand dishes. I am very sure you will be back for more!!!! Kapkunkap!!!
Be the first to ReplyOne of the cheapest Thai food in a Singapore mall
The prices here are lower than other Thai eateries found in shopping centres. Noodles and rice items are about sgd6 . Tom yum soup at sgd 6 and some starters are priced from sgd 4. There are thai staff working in this place- authentic. Attracts a lot of students. Due to the affordable prices. I do see a lot of adults and families too. Had the tom yum soup ( clear soup) with fish . The fish is breaded. Different from other tom yum soups . Nevertheless , the soup taste is good. Not too spicy.

I would strongly advise if you want thai food, head down to beach road, the queue system is not properly managed, staffโs got a heck care attitude, like others who had shared their review, itโs as if the staff are not happy serving in this restaurant. We waited more than one and half hour because of some confusion in the queue system.
Be the first to ReplyTreatment of Takeaway Customers
On 5 Nov evening, we wanted to place an order for takeaway and were asked to wait near the cashier to place our order. There was only one customer at the cashier but he took a long time to collect the payment. While we were still waiting, another customer finished their meal and started queuing. When we walked up to place our order after the first customer was done, we were told that dine in customers take precedence and we have to wait. This is even though he was aware that we were in the queue first. Is this because we donโt pay service charge? If you find takeaway customers so inferior, might as well donโt offer this service. Find this attitude off-putting and I will never patronise this restaurant again. There are still many other good Thai restaurants in Vivo.
Be the first to ReplyNah! it is just more affordable @ the lower price range
Sawadee Krab! their boneless stuffed chicken Wings are 2 pc at S$4! very meaty but it is fried using a thick layer of flour - which is quite unlike those i have tried in the past As for their Drunken Kay Teow/Mama Noodle (seafood of squid & prawn) $6, not sure why is it called Drunken? Is that due to its hot and spicy, cannot really taste of Chinese/thai wine /liq in it at all...should stick to the cheaper and normal version of Hor Fun or Kuay Teow $4 instead! I felt their food is just a simple way of "home-cooked" style, but somewhat lost some thai flavours? Maybe i should have tried their thai curries to confirm that again..... Why their service staff appeared busy is cos the customers here are all flooding in (even @ 11am sharp) hence they are packed to the brim For their pricing, they deserved a 3.5star! Do note - they do not accept Credit Card but they do not have service charge and GST!!!they offer u a cup of plain water even if u didnt order any drinks with them....
Be the first to ReplyPoor service, average food & long queues!
I struggle to understand what all the fuss is about, as there's often a long queue of people waiting to dine here & I appreciate that the reviews of the other locations are mostly positive. The location is simply in the basement food court of Vivo City mall & the decor is bland so few poitives here. They also play loud music that's inappropriate to such a restaurant setting. The service is awful, with the staff slow, disinterested & disorganised. The food is average at best, often swamped in sauce & lacking clear individual flavours from the ingredients. And the final issue is that they only take cash or Nets so don't make payment easy. I agree that it's not expensive but I'd rather pay more for quality food & service than waste cents on this.
Be the first to ReplyStaff must hate their boss/job
The food was decent and the price was fair. However, all the staff walked around like they were severely underpaid. They carried a disinterested look and were sluggish to respond. The poor attitude rather ruined the entire experience for my family. The water had a black spec in it and my phad Thai had egg shell in it! I wouldn't go back unless the staff get a pay increase..
Be the first to ReplyHave eaten here several times. Good food and reasonable price.
The queue is very long during lunch hours,be prepared for more than one hour wait..reason? good food and low prices. food reasonably good. To get there, you have to go through Fair Price supermarket or take a long walk if you do not know the place. last time I was there in October 2019, we waited for more than one hour.
