Namo Dallas Reviews from The Last Year
Super intimate sushi place located in West Village in
Super intimate sushi place located in West Village in Uptown! They have the option to sit inside at the sushi bar or outside on the patio. My boyfriend and I opted for the sushi bar. Everyone there was super welcoming and attentive. The service was superb! Food came out quickly after we placed our order. All the fish we had was super fresh super delicious! My favorite include the scallop (Hotate), Kamasu, Kasugodai, Kuromutsu, honestly, all the fish! All the fish we ordered were nigiri pieces and the chefs complemented each fish with the perfect amount of wasabi hidden under the fish. The only reason why I docked a star was because the rice was a little bit too heavy on the vinegar taste and warm for my liking, same with the ginger. But everything else was a 10/10! Definitely recommend giving Namo a try and walking around the area after to walk the food off
Stopped in to grab a bite before heading over to check out
Stopped in to grab a bite before heading over to check out *Bad Boys Ride or Die* (sidebar: great film!) and ended up finding my new favorite drink--the amazing Japanese Old Fashioned. It was superb. I was a walk-in who got lucky because it was slow at the time, and the staff were able to squeeze me in. However, don't do what I did--I highly recommend making reservations. The place has a very intimate setting, perfect for a date night if you're not into crowds. The staff were extremely polite and interactive, which made the experience even better. The food was fantastic, with the quality of ingredients clearly authentic. I'll definitely be coming back for more!
Amazing sushi! The service is great I love to ask what
Amazing sushi! The service is great I love to ask what their favorite thing on the menu is and it is always helpful. It's very intimate seating with only a few seats at the bar which makes it great for date night.
The service and quality of fish here is fantastic! The chef
The service and quality of fish here is fantastic! The chef gave us a description with every plate we received. We opted for the chefs choice on the menu. We received a bunch of different items and it was nice to be surprised with different bites and courses throughout. This place is a bit on the pricier side but worth it. We tried a bunch of the cocktails on the menu and they were all great. I was also thoroughly impressed with their whiskey selection on the wall. The atmosphere is nice and personal and you can watch them work or they have a nice patio outside as well. Recommend if you're in the area and wanting to treat yourself
Their hand rolls are my favorite! Sit at the bar and watch
Their hand rolls are my favorite! Sit at the bar and watch the chefs prepare your order fresh.
One of my fav sushi restaurants in Dallas.
The quality is similar to Uchi and Nobu... but at a better cost. I come here at least 3 times a month! You have try! Reservations are easy too
We enjoyed a lovely mother's day lunch here with my in-laws
We enjoyed a lovely mother's day lunch here with my in-laws on Sunday. I looked up several lists for best mother's day brunch in Dallas and Namo came up because of its special binchoatan (Japanese charcoal) grill menu. My in-laws ordered oyster, scallop, and lobster from the menu. My father-in-law had the red miso soup, and mother-in-law ordered a seaweed salad. We also ordered shishito skewers. For drinks I started with the hojichata (mocktail) then switched to the Namo nitro tea. Eric R. got hot hojicha tea, and my father-in-law got the jasmine gin cocktail. Eric R. and I opted for the lunch okonomi (set meal). It was a really good deal at $75. First course: Namo salad with daikon, whitebait, microgreens, bonito flakes, and yuzu vinaigrette (Eric swapped this for the seaweed salad with his mom) Second course: hamachi sashimi with serrano and purple potato chip in ponzu Third course: bonito sashimi with garlic chips Fourth course: chawanmushi with ikura Fifth course: nigiri plate with madai, salmon, aji, chutoro, kohada, unagi Sixth course: wagyu beef tostada Seventh course: red miso soup My in-laws loved the lobster the best, which had a yuzu butter sauce. We were given a Namo brownie (nice and warm and gooey!) with ceremonial grade matcha ice cream, plus black sesame and passionfruit mochi for dessert. Service was very nice and we sat outside in the covered patio during a downpour, but it was still a pleasant atmosphere. It would be fun to return for dinner and try other things. I do wish I had ordered uni for myself since I rarely can get it where I live. Itadakimasu!
Small yet homey restaurant right in the middle of a busy
Small yet homey restaurant right in the middle of a busy restaurant street. With limited seating, a reservation is a must (especially if you want to actually sit in front of the chefs) The chef's nigiri set was actually pretty good. You get 6 nigiri's and a bluefin tuna roll! Definitely very filling. The yellowtail roll was also good and a large quantity too. I would say though, the quality of fish was good but there was a little fishy after taste. Would come back to try their okonomi or omakase Wednesdays
Sashimi was not good or fresh Toro was delicious Spicy tuna
Sashimi was not good or fresh Toro was delicious Spicy tuna roll rice was not good, wasn't traditional sushi rice- was slightly brown. Sushi didn't come with wasabi or ginger. I wanted to love this place- but still looking for decent sushi in Dallas
We were seated on the patio and it was surprisingly
We were seated on the patio and it was surprisingly pleasant! They had fans going and plenty of privacy guards so you didn't feel like you were sitting on the street. The server team was knowledgeable and attentive. The drinks and food were also delicious! We will definitely be going back.
