Neptune Oyster Boston Reviews from The Last Year
The restaurant looks nice but…
Food looks great. But sitting is limited on busy nights and way too overcrowded. There’s no individual table to be seated at. You’ll be seated beside other people.
Really fun vibe.
Very limited seating but worth the wait. Oysters and lobster rolls were delicious. Good wine list.
Oysters were sooooo fresh Would recommend ordering clam
Oysters were sooooo fresh Would recommend ordering clam chowder and lobster spaghetti

We love this place!! I'd move in and eat every meal there if they let me. My personal favorites are the lobster roll or the scallops.
Food and food was good for me and my wife was very excited
Food and food was good for me and my wife was very excited about it and it was great seeing you guys too many extras to describe fully loaded with all of you and your food.
The line was definitely worth the wait and moved oretty
The line was definitely worth the wait and moved oretty swiftly(for 2). Ghe seating was very close together and our two top was directly touching/connected to a four top. the service was great and the staff all works together whoch definetly plays into efficiency. Oysters were great & even my friend who doesnt usually wnjoy oysters enjoyed the taste and quality. Our shared favorite was the Unicorns.
This is by far one of the best seafood restaurants in North
This is by far one of the best seafood restaurants in North America. That is not hyperbole.
I was visiting Boston for the weekend and went to grab some
I was visiting Boston for the weekend and went to grab some lunch by myself before I left. I LOVE THIS PLACE and am SO GLAD I WENT! Had a great time chatting at the bar while sipping Prosecco and eating the freshest oysters that knocked my socks off. The lobster roll was delicious, perfect, and so filling. They were playing such fun music too! I heard the line would take forever but since I was sitting alone I was seated immediately! So glad I got to stop by here!
Am I the only person who finds Neptune overrated? We came
Am I the only person who finds Neptune overrated? We came one weekend at around 1:30pm and the wait wasn't too bad, about 20 minutes. Something to be aware of is that they won't seat your group unless you're all there. Sorry to the group in front of us who's friend went to grab a slice of pizza while waiting haha If you haven't been here before the place is TINY and cramped - don't roll up here with a backpack or shopping bags, there isn't any space. We sat at the second and third tables of the booth, near the door, which they constantly have wide open every time was coming in or out. Our friends who sat on the chairs were frequently disturbed by other patrons squeezing between them and the bar seats. Especially with heavy coats brushing up against the back of their heads. On to the food, oysters, tuna tartare, Johnnycake, lobster rolls and scallops. - tuna tartare: with pistachio pesto, it was a weird combo. Also, there were 4 of us and they charged us an extra $0.50 each for 2 extra pieces of crostini we didn't ask for. The dish was $21, seems greedy. - oysters: I didn't partake but they preferred one over another - johnnycake: I'm not a fan of smoked fish but the cake itself was actually good, albeit drenched in syrup or something sweet. - scallops: probably the best dish I had, but weird combo served with Brussel sprouts and duck, which was very food - aka, not vegetarian/pescatarian friendly - lobster roll: it was good, not amazing. Had a few pieces that were tough and stringy, I've never left lobster behind before. The fries were very good
There was a long line waiting to enter Neptune's.
Their clam chowder tasted delicious and was made like it was homemade. The area it was in was nice. It outs on a small street. Although the space is very small, it is still very beautiful. I highly recommend this restaurant of you want to go here with someone or just go alone.
Everything about this place is fantastic.
... The food, the atmosphere, the service! Don't be swayed if there is a line. Just wait it out and enjoy!
Not worth the wait....
I was very disappointed. I give tours of the city and was looking forward to a meal at Neptune Oyster. It was on our "bucket List" of restaurants in the city. Not anymore. The food was average at best. The Service is excellent, the oysters are excellent. The rest is average at best. We always wash up before a meal. The bathroom at Neptune Oyster gets a 2 out of 10. The chowder gets a 4 out of 10. If you want to try great Clam Chowder, go to the Union Oyster House, The sail loft or even Legal Sea foods. This is Boston and it should be special. The Lobster is good, but it should be. The Tuna was average. The burgers were average. If you want a $150.00 lunch you will find better places in the city at 1/2 the price. Many of them in the North End withing walking distance of Neptune Oyster.
Great seafood stop in Bostons North End!
The seafood menu here is fantastic, and the food was excellent. This is a very small restaurant, but it's worth the wait if you aren't in a hurry. Happy we found this gem in Little Italy on Bostons North End.
Has gone downhill…
Last 2 visits have been sub par… not very good. Once a good place, now over priced & over rated. Lobster roll was extremely tough/chewy. Fries were not seasoned & just yuck. This spot is off our list
Waste of Money
First time in Boston and decided to try this place because so many colleagues recommended it and raved about the Lobster rolls. I shouldn't have listened. The lobster roll had no flavor at all and neither did the bread. The fries were soggy and burnt. I have no idea why so many people recommend this place but it's not worth $40 for a lobster roll. Only good thing I can say is the lady that took my order was nice and the food did come out quick. That's about it.
Quintessential Boston Oyster/Seafood Bar!
Neptune is a very small place; no reservations and yes, if you go in the middle of lunch or dinner hours, you will see a line. That’s not what we do. We go just after lunch hours, like 2-3pm or just before the dinner crunch, and have no problem. Great fresh oysters, crab, and classic Boston seafood. One of the only places you can usually find razor clams on the menu…casino style. Excellent! Efficient and friendly service. Pay no attention to the “touristy” label. We’re BU alums and have been going there for decades. This is one of those places that never changes, and is a classic don’t miss!
Delicious Oysters
Delicious oysters! We had to wait in line outside in January in 20 degree temps for about 20 minutes. This is a tiny restaurant that serves approx 40 people at a time. Tight quarters. Don’t go here for date nite. The fish stew was delicious, and the fried clams were 2nd to none. I had a lobster roll with butter, which I wasn’t crazy about, I’ve had much better, but there was a lot of lobster in the roll.
horrible
We came for dinner after reading that the restaurant had one of the best clam chowders and lobster rolls. Sadly, i was disappointed with both. The buttered lobster roll had no butter, i had to wait for them to melt some and bring it, without it was flavorless. Row 34 has way better lobster rolls and Union Oyster has way better clam chowder. However, the oysters were great, excellent selection of those. Looking over my credit card charges the following week I noticed a small $4 discrepancy, more than likely an innocent error when manually entering the tip. I called the restaurant, not because I need those $4 back, but because they should be made aware. I was transferred to someone with zero customer service skills. She asked me 3 times if i was wanting the $4 back. No apology didn't even say goodbye when she got off the phone. Supposedly she will forward my name, phone number and date of dinner to someone. But not even an "Im sorry", but really? she hung up without saying goodbye, and I was very nice and understanding on the phone. I will never return.
Best oysters and Bay Scallops w Chimi-cheery bartenders
What awesome seafood in the heart of the North End. Small place and warm-do not wear a sweater, and they have you covered with enough hooks for coats. Fun staff-was all women on the Saturday we went and they were super nice and very knowledgeable on both food and drink. Excellent oysters of course, but surprised they had Washington state oysters too-great on a platter to note the East Coast-West Coast difference. Super fresh. Wellfleet chowder is not your chunky thick chowder, a more creamy brothy version; Uni toast was slathered in umami uni flavored butter-definitely share one app as it is rich! The best dish was the Bay Scallops with Chimichurri-get extra of their excellent bread to sop it all up. Guiness and Muscadet with the oysters was a hit. Lobster rolls looked phenomenal. Excellent and worth the wait.
Beautiful fresh seafood and some gourmet prepared items too.
Well, this place lives up to its popularity. The dozen oysters were delicious but the standouts were the cioppino (uniquely not tomato based and one of the very best I've ever had!) and the bluefin crudo. It's a little pricey and cozy/crowded but worth the wait in line and the scrunchy quarters. Warning: they do not serve dessert.

I've earned $150 in a transaction and am not able to send this to my account. It's been rejected 3 times because I'm asking for too much?
The customer support function has provided zero responses and there are so many fees on the deposit process. What the heck? Has anyone been able to withdraw $ from earned bids?

You can only deposit $50 at a time until you earn the “Sales and Low Refund Medal” I believe. Im new to this as well but the ability to deposit more money at once and increase your amount of listings comes with that medal.

Someone else posted that they were only able to transfer $50 at a time so maybe that’s why it says you’re asking for too much. I haven’t sold anything yet so I have no personal experience but I would try $50.
