Great experience all the time. Friendly staff and owner with robotic helper too :)
Great place for family bonding, simple but happy get together. Under new management. Great customer service. My son and all his friends goes there often.

This used to be my go-to place for hot pot whenever I'm in town before the pandemic. Recently I went back with family to try the place out. The place looks to be under new management. The price for a 5 choice option was $19.95 per person and all you can eat was $35.95 per person. Note that these prices are essentially the same as other hot pot places in town, notably Chinese Hot Pot Buffet which has larger food selections. As our family can eat quite a bit, we tried our the AYCE. Here's a summary: - Limited inventory of food - For any place that allows AYCE, it should have enough food inventory available. Their menu's restricted item (i.e., most valuable item) is scallops which is limited to 4 per person (note: pre-pandemic, this would've been oysters). They didn't even have any on hand. When we asked for a second order of shrimp with wine sauce, they said they ran out after giving half an order. How is this restaurant charging $35.95 when it cannot offer a full slate of food?? The worse part is that they didn't even inform us when we did our first order that they didn't have any scallops either by putting a sign out or crossing the item from the menu sheet. Instead, they offered poor excuses blaming management for not stocking up. - Frozen food - Their meat slices and vegetables were generally ok, but many of their food items were frozen, like their dumplings, shrimps, mussels, and mash. When I say frozen, I mean stuck together because of ice. I'm pretty sure the mashes and dumplings weren't made in-house. - Sauce bar - While they have a complete sauce bar, some of their sauces were basically gone. They didn't bother re-filling. - Service was mediocre - The place wasn't all that busy when we went, yet the waiters weren't proactive with taking away finished plates. It took almost 10 minutes just to get our broths. Took 5-10 minutes to get our food. You could tell some of the waiters had little experience in the restaurant business with the way they were handling plates or soup pots. The highlight was literally the robot that sang a happy tune while bringing the food out! Overall experience was terrible. For the price, I expected way better. This used to be a favorite place of mine - I'm disappointed it's now turned out this way.

This is a good experience for hot pot cooking, just always ask first how it works, so you wont be surprised with your bill.

We met friends here on a Friday afternoon and quite enjoyed the hot pot experience for the second time. I like to order the spicy broth while hubby likes the chicken broth. It is great to be able to order 5 items for your individual hot pot. One of my items was steamed rice which complimented my meal. There was more than enough food. I especially like the white mushrooms and the shrimp balls. At lunch the special is $14.95 for a hot pot of your choice and 5 items to cook in your hot pot. There is also a selection of sauces for dipping which was great. You can also order a side order of onion cakes or spring rolls if you like. There is plenty of parking at this south side location.

My husband had been wanting to take me here for some time, after his friend introduced him to the fun, healthy, and delicious hot pot experience. The restaurant was very clean, and the food was extremely fresh. The hostess was so friendly to help explain to us how to order (soup broth base, 4 items including protein choices, and noodles or rice--many choices), and to cook our items in the boiling broth. The condiments/extras table was laden with a huge variety of sauces and seasonings to add or use. What a nice experience--playing with my food!
Be the first to Replyquiet spacious and nice condiment station, not great vibes from owner
Large, clean, spacious and comfortable condiment station. Food average. Their lamb isn't good lamb. Everything else is ok. Staff friendlier at their chinatown location. Didn't get a genuine vibe from the female owner.

this place recently opened up... the tables have individual hot pot cooking, I first experienced this type of dining in Taiwan so to have it here in Edmonton is awesome. Once you sit down you choose the type of broth, then the ingredients. You can pick beef chicken squid almost anything. Then choose the type of noodles. You can add spices sauces. This can turn out fantastic, but there is always the risk that you might put too much of this or that as well. It is truly an adventure. The prices are very reasonable so if you want to experience something different in Edmonton this is the place to try Chinese hot pot, not easy to see as it is on a motel property on 63 avenue
