We had an enjoyable experience at Nittis.
Service was warm & attentive (we liked Elisao "Eli"). Cosmos were great happy hour choice. Meatballs were wonderful & generously sized. Calamari was tasty. Casual neighborhood vibe. Owner's son did the artwork on the table mats & that felt like family. Will go back.

Great happy hour, wonderful food and the entire team was friendly and cheerful. Highest recommendation for this fun Italian restaurant!
Be the first to ReplyFood was ok, service was good.
Be aware that we ordered ricotta and spinach ravioli and got 6 small ravioli.. literally not enough to feed a toddler and it was the most expensive of all of the pasta. Very disappointing. Also the tip was included in our party of 3 and a non cash surcharge. Definitely can do better.
Be the first to ReplyFood was good, but service was terrible.
Our server was very rude and messed up our order. We had a reservation for 6:30 and weren't seated until 6:55. The atmosphere was nice but I wouldn't come back.

One of the worst experiences I've had, the waiter was very rude. When we asked to speak to a supervisor, he just said that he was the one in charge and left. I guess thats what happens when 20% tips guaranteed... food wasn't bad, but I can't say it was any good either.

I came to Nittis around 5:30 on a Thursday before a broadway show. It was pretty empty when we got there and we didnt have a reservation. I was really impressed by the service at this restaurant, we were kindly approached multiple times to make sure everything was going well and we had everything we needed. We ordered the spinach raviolis (i forget the actual name but it was on the specials) and the margarita pizza. The pizza was okay but we loved the ravioli (very peppery if you like that!). Overall good experience. It would be nice if they had some happy hour deals to boost their business.
Be the first to ReplyThe menu had the perfect amount of options.
We ordered a bottle for the table which was decanted perfectly and the wait staff were on top of refilling our glasses with wine and water. Complimentary bread was provided with oil and balsamic glaze. We ordered the bruschetta which came with 3 pieces. I ordered the short rib special. It was delicious and had just enough gravy to compliment the plate. Great service and conversation with staff. Warm, welcoming, and reasonably priced.

My mom and I went here for a nice Italian meal while she was in town for my birthday. We walked in and were immediately greeted by a friendly staff and were say immediately. The entire staff was extremely attentive and we were taken care of not only by our amazing waitress but by the entire staff. Our water classes were filled within seconds of being sat, drink orders were immediately taken and were brought out really quickly, and then they were asking about what looked good on the menu a few minutes afterward. We started with the brussel sprouts, then split a caprese salad and the spaghetti and meatballs. Everything was AMAZING. We wanted to try a little but of everything but were so full we just couldn't. We were very complementary of the food to the staff and in between dinner and dessert we were brought us a complementary shot!! We had the italian cheesecake for dessert and it couldn't have been the more perfect end to an amazing meal. The combination of the meal, the staff, and the overall ambiance really set this place apart for me. I have never once written a Yelp review, but the meal and experience here was too good not to. Cannot recommend this place enough!! We only managed to slow down enough to get a picture of the dessert

Had the best waiter! He was so kind and we walked in super late and they still served us. We had the olive bruschetta and I had the mushroom pasta. Really tasty and wonderful service. Would definitely recommend
Be the first to ReplyGreat spot with delicious food.
The wait staff was attentive and friendly. The owner was a generous host who obviously took pride in seeing his customers happy.

First time customer today and we plan to make another visit before our trip is over in a few days. The pizza was light, full of flavor and had the perfect thin, crispy crust. The chopped Caesar salad was the best Caesar salad I have ever eaten. Period. The owner , Will, and his wait staff were so kind and friendly and made the expletive nice top tier. We received a small sample of the bread pudding and as someone who has never liked bread pudding, it was heavenly. Light and decadent and full of flavor. I'll be making a visit yearly each time I return to NYC for business. Thank you, Will and team. Wonderful food!

ย Large portions and all delicious. Wonderful service. ย Lots of fun and easy walk to the theater district,
Be the first to ReplyI ate here after a Broadway show this past weekend.
ย We came in with a reservation between 5-6pm. ย The place was mostly empty but was filled by the time we left. ย The decor is bland, the bar looks nice. ย The main reason for the one star was the service- just awful. ย The food on its own would be 3.5 stars. ย Poor service screams poor management. ย Our waiter acted more like a bouncer than a waiter- zero personality other than to rush us through our dinner. ย He really showed zero skills in being hospitable. ย He grunted and spoke in fast phrases "you gonna order food?", "ready to order?" ย He asked for our order before asking if we wanted drinks and then seemed annoyed when we ordered drinks. ย Food came out in literally 7-8 minutes, so who knows how freshly prepared anything was. ย Some dishes were good, others just blah. ย The chicken parm had little taste. ย The bill was dropped without asking, and believe me we were not snoozing at the table. ย The service was most attentive when trying to pick up the bill twice before we had put a card in it. ย Overall, a totally lame experience. ย Many other very good reviews shows we had an off experience perhaps, but I will definitely not be going back nor recommending this place to anyone. ย It sucks to have an experience like this when there are so many deserving restaurants (most in Brooklyn and Queens).

WOW! What can I say? Not only was the food delicious and reasonably priced, but the service was impeccible. The interior decor was luxurious and romantic. Perfect date spot in Hell's kitchen! I went with my husband for a date and we had a very romantic evening. There are some lovely florals and a candle on the table which really complemented the ambiance. The owner, Will, regularly made rounds, checked in on patrons, held doors open, and sometimes acted as host to keep things running amoothly. The crown jewel of our experience, however, was our waitress Linda. She was so sweet, always smiling, and excited about the menu. She recommended the most amazing drink to me, her personal favorite, that wasn't even on the menu. It's clear that every person involved in the operation has passion and pride for this restaurant! As for the food, we had the meatballs as an appetizer, received free garlic bread, and had the pappardale with burrata and fagottini al porcini as mains. The fagottini was absolutely stunning. The rosemary and truffle oil went really well with the pasta. Highly recommend!Overall, this is a lovely and romantic Italian restaurant recommended for couples and date nights!

Really nice ambience (though I could do without the two tv screens), good food, and good service. The owner came around to explain the provenance of their olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and you want to take notes so you can get the same stuff for home. Try the charcuterie platter (the small one will more than do for two people, arguably for four as well). The spaghetti puttanesca were delicious. The pizza, by contrast, was disappointing. Not bad, but I've had much better. Accompany your meal with a glass of Chianti or Montepulciano.

Great conversation and continued to surprise us with a good time. I will be back because of Elio.

I was craving a solid, basic spaghetti with red sauce after work and had high hopes for what another reviewer called "the best red sauce".However, the spaghetti with braised meatballs was a flop. Sauce was red but somehow not enough tomato? Larger meatballs tend to be drier and denser than smaller meatballs, and these were just average. The restaurant is really cute inside and I can see why it's popular for brunch. I'd consider coming back for happy hour and appetizers, they have a lovely bar inside.
Be the first to ReplyI stopped at Nittis for lunch on a day trip to the city.
The service was good, and the eggplant parm was fantastic!
Be the first to ReplyThe ambience and service were great.
The wine was good and the arancini in pomodoro sauce were tasty. The cavatelli & broccoli rabe was good, not great. I would not recommend the Cacio e Pepe which is what I came looking for because it was just okay/mediocre. I wish I had ordered a dish with red sauce because I think that would have been better. My daughter ordered the margherita pizza and felt like it had too much sauce.

I've been struggling to find amazing Italian food in Hell's Kitchen that will impress my Italian parents when they visit. Nittis is a pretty good option! The ambiance was cozy and cute. I found the music to be louder than I was expecting. We started with the meatballs, and for dinner got the ragu with buratta and mama mia - a mix of chicken + eggplant parm + penne with vodka sauce. The meatballs were solid. Cooked well with yummy sauce. The ragu sauce was good but not super flavorful, felt like it could have cooked a bit longer. The pasta however certainly tasted fresh and was cooked perfectly. Plus buratta will make anything amazing! The meat/eggplant in the Mama Mia was really good. Breaded, fried, topped with cheese. The penne was cooked al dente but very clearly not fresh which was disappointing. I am very passionate about vodka sauce - you really need a good tomato to cream ratio and good spices. Good ratio but needed a bit more flavor. Maybe some grated Parmesan? Overall the vodka sauce was good but didn't knock my socks off.

The food was great, even better desserts and the cocktails made the meal one of the best during our visit to NY.
Be the first to ReplyFirst time in New York & was craving pasta & the vodka
First time in New York & was craving pasta & the vodka pasta really hit the spot. The noodles & the sauce were both well prepared & was left me wanting it back home in California. When I go back to New York I will definitely be coming back.

Went to this restaurant with two friends and had high expectations. I've dined here before and had a good experience, so I expected the same. Not only was my experience completely different, it was terrible. The waiter was a bit stand off-ish at first. We remained humble and nice, kept smiles on our faces (maybe he had a bad day?). After we ordered drinks, he checked back on us and had a look of disgust. We awkwardly ordered our appetizers and didn't say anything else. About 5 minutes later my friend notices something. There was a huge crack in my glass, which I didn't see as I was about to put my mouth directly on it. Also, the water we were given looked as if had a million dust particles settling to the bottom. We called over our waiter and told him about the glass. Without a word, he simply stared at us, then continues to pick up the glass without a word. He returned a new one later, also without speaking. Onto the food... The complimentary bread was cold and brittle. My chicken parm was okay. One of my friend's ordered a steak; medium well. The steak she received was so well done that we couldn't even cut through it. It felt like coal. The steak was sent back and we asked for a new one. To our surprise, the new steak was so rare that there was a pool of blood on the plate. Some of the inner parts, of the middle of the steak, were so rare that it was actually cold to touch. The aroma was also potent and disgusting. We called over a different employee; a lady we spoke to as we were seated. We told her about the steak and asked for a refund. She then said "well you've gotten two steaks from us, now that it's medium well you don't want it ?". We continued to go back and forth until we decided to just give up and pay for it. We didn't want to make a scene and wanted to leave as quickly as possible. We paid and vowed to never return. It was a terrible experience. Picture of the steak is attached. .. Side note: we were the only people of color in the entire restaurant on this day. We were stared at, not only by our waiter, but by various other employees as we dined. The entire experience was harsh, weird, and deplorable.
Be the first to ReplyOrdered apps, marinara sauce for mozza sticks was cold.
Sun dried tomato tapenade was not edible. Drinks were eh. Entrees tasted like I could make them at home.
