Disappointing
We booked afternoon tea and we could not fault the food it was superb. However the ambience was far from optimal as we were seated in a very busy, noisy restaurant in the process of finishing their lunch service, with loud music playing. This not the calm peaceful place to have a relaxing tea. The service was appalling we were not assigned a designated waiter, each time something arrived it came with a different server. It was extremely slow, so slow that our tea was cold before the food arrived and we had to ask for fresh. Do not be seduced by the view there are many better places in London for afternoon tea.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent service and great experience
Booked afternoon tea for family birthday. Impeccable service from Bill, great tasting sandwiches, scones and cakes. Plenty of different teas on offer and bottomless champagne and cocktails was good value for money.

A definite place to visit and see the shard from the inside and share its wonderful views great staff and kind enough to move us from the higher chairs to a lower more comfortable one as one member of our arty suffers from a bad back so after half an hour on the higher chairs was in quite a lot of pai not problem we were moved to a lower table and much more comfortable chairs. Cocktails were and experience in themselves and so so tasty. Highly recommended for a special treat.
Be the first to ReplyDISAPPOINTING AFTERNOON TEA
We opted for the afternoon tea and I notified the restaurant beforehand of my dairy allergy and I was surprised to be given only vegetable sandwiches! I did not say that I do not eat meat or fish and what is so hard to switch out the mayonnaise and put water cress or cucumber. What I received was avocado and roasted pepper sandwiches, whilst my friend was eating coronation chicken, smoked salmon and lobster roll. At no time did I say that I was vegan, it was so disappointing and lack of imagination or effort fitting from a 5 star restaurant in a prestigious hotel!!
Be the first to ReplyGreat location and food. Band too loud to chat
Great location and views. Cocktails were fab. Service was really good. Food was good with wonderful deserts Only significant problem was that the live band was way too loud for easy conversation so kind of spoiled the evening.

Fantastic views of London. Good service and really lovely food. Would recommend the beef carpacho really light and tasty.
Be the first to ReplyNot the Oblix experience we were expecting !
We arrived in good time for our booking as advised and we were taken to the bar area to wait for our table by a young man who said he would find us a table..he then disappeared and we waited, and waited and eventually I sat down in any seat as I have a back problem which started to get painful. The man never came back, however 3 other members of staff came and asked how they could help us and we told each one that we had been left here and we were waiting for our table.. they also disappeared! Then finally someone came to ask how we could be helped and they finally took us to our table .. 45 minutes after we first got there. Not a good start to our 20th anniversary dinner. We were seated and we were given complimentary drinks for the upset caused and asked for our orders… our prawn cocktail came in reasonable time, however the bread didn’t. Each time we asked the waiter where the bread was, he said he’d find out then went straight to another table to take orders. The bread came 30 mins later and this is because the restaurant had run out! We were brought complimentary oysters and extra bread (once some was found)by a lovely lady called Judith who really did try her best to make up for the bad service we had received so far….. the steak, my partner ordered , which was supposed to have been medium to well done came to him mooing !! Couldn’t be bothered to say anything so he ate what he could! My chicken was very nice. Yayyyy something positive!! The manager had a chat with us about the issues we had encountered and this was only because we asked for the service charge to be removed.. once we explained how we’d been treated he apologised. We really didn’t appreciate being left in the middle of the bar for all that time from the beginning and we didnt appreciate being ignored by the waiter with regards to the bread and being lied to by saying it was on its way when it wasn’t as there wasn’t any. This is not the same restaurant we booked for my dad’s 70th anniversary few years ago… the standards of service are greatly reduced and very disappointing. Judith was amazing but sadly the damage had been done.
Be the first to ReplySpecial night out in London
Extra special night out in London wow what an amazing experience this turned out to be. When I told we were going to eat at The Shard I had no idea what to expect. Once through security and you enter the lift, your journey begins. It’s a truly an amazing experience, the open kitchen, all the meats on display and the unbelievable view of London lite up. We had really knowledgeable serving staff and they had all the answers to our every question. The food served here is at a different level. An extensive menu with some of the best wines available. The main meal was the beef Tomahawk.wow ,what a great piece of prime, aged beef. Everything that was served was cooked and served with such detail. My only complaint was the wine was a little too cold for me,I did receive an apology from the restaurant manager, that I thought was commendable. There is a decent bar area for that one for the road. As you would expect, this is fine dining in the heart of London,so it comes with a price, but as a special night out,it ticked all my boxes.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Birthday Meal
To celebrate our son’s 18th birthday we booked this restaurant 60 days in advance to ensure we could get a table. We paid extra for a window seat although our table for 4 wasn’t right next to the window, probably as most of these tables were for 2 people. The sourdough bread made with marmite was very good, I don’t like marmite but did enjoy the bread. The steaks were cooked to perfection as was my son’s lobster. We also ordered a selection of sides. We didn’t really need deserts but the ones we ordered were very large. The restaurant is very dark inside probably to enhance the views of the London skyline. It adds to the atmosphere but makes reading the menu a bit problematic. The meal for 4 with drinks was £415, you get what you pay for. If you’re looking for a venue to celebrate a special occasion then you can’t go wrong here.

Fantastic dinner with family with the best views in London. We had a couple of allergies on the table and the team handled them very well, with them even providing a separate meal for dessert since none of the existing desserts were egg-free! A special commendation to Sonia who made our experience memorable with her attention to detail, friendly service and fantastic hospitality.

Everything was perfect, drinks, food, dessert! Knowing that was my birthday, they put a candle and wrote ''happy birthday'' on the sweet and our kind waiter sang me the happy birthday song. The view is fabulous and the place is epic. It was an unforgetatable birthday celebration.

Perfect evening from start to finish. Cannot find fault. The staff are incredible especially our waiter Bill in Oblix East. We started with a cocktail and the presentation was fantastic. We booked a window table for our dinner and overlooked Tower Bridge as night fell. The food was incredible and by the time out dessert arrived a wonderful jazz trio started their set. A fabulous night all round - will be back for sure. Highly highly recommended.
Be the first to ReplyLovely but don’t breath on my food!
Food was exquisite. Best sandwiches I’ve had at an afternoon tea. The service e was also very good. I am not particularly a sweet person but they looked divine and tasted amazing. Just one thing I would say, I did not like the waiter standing very close right over my food and pointing and describing what was there. This must be unhygienic and was off putting.

What a view, wow!! I highly recommend this place, good vibe, good drinks, good music, epic view!!! They are perfect!! I will be back for sure!!!
Be the first to ReplyOK experience- you pay for the view
Making the reservation was extremely difficult. We had a large party (7 people) and were told there was absolutely no way to accommodate all of us at a table together, and not to even bother asking. Whenever we called we were placed on long phone queues and every person on the phone was extremely rude. We arrived early for our reservation. The woman at the front reception was extremely rude. When we arrived we asked if it were possible to combine our two separate reservations and sit at one table. We waited around for 20 minutes to be told that they were able to seat us together despite giving us a hard time when we initially asked. Our dinner was pretty good. Not the best, some of the food came out room temperature. You pretty much pay for the view. Our waiter was very nice but the service was remarkably slow. The restaurant was not busy (Sunday night at 9 pm was our reservation) and everything took extremely long. I appreciate not being rushed at a restaurant but it was actually difficult to get anyone’s attention. They didn’t even bring steak knives with the main courses (some guests ordered steak), so we were forced to cut steak with a butter knife. The burger was very good though, I must say. Best thing we ordered. For the price per person, the hype, and the demeanor of the staff, I really expected more. The view is beautiful but everything else left a lot to be desired. Just an ok experience. Go for a drink, it’ll suffice.
Be the first to Reply5 Star service from JUSTO!
Me and my friend recently and off the cuff visited Oblix, Shard. The staff were extremely polite and professional. We didn’t have a booking to dine but they fitted us in and found us a great table. Justo our waiter was bright bubbly and made our stay very happy and social! His explanation of the menu was fantastic and even recommend wine to pair! Top night, we will definitely be going again after such fantastic service (which you just don’t get anymore unfortunately) - thank you Justo and team!
Be the first to ReplySaturday evening meal
Saturday evening meal, 3 course meal with wine & cocktails. All accompanied by a very good singer and of course the view of Tower Bridge, Tower of London and Canary Wharf. The food was really nice, the cocktails were great. The included red wine was ok, nothing special. Would go back in the future

My husband and I ate at the oblix at the weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The 3 course menu as amazing. I really enjoyed it, and the live music helped to set the right atmosphere. I would certainly recommend it and have no hesitation in returning

Fabulous afternoon tea, exceptional views over the river and superb service from every member of staff. We will be back.
Be the first to ReplyBirthday brunch treat
Food fabulous, service fabulous, views spectacular. Children’s meals were £12.00 including a drink, desert extra. Adult set price £69.00, certain dishes and sides are extra. One portion of green beans is enough for two people…. although waiter told us we’d need one each. Lovely treat for my husband’s birthday… kids loved it too… the excitement of the lift ascending 32 floors in seconds.
