Oishii was an amazing experience! Our waiter was extremely kind and attentive and the food was simply delicious. It was my first time dining at Oishii and I was pleasantly surprised with how big the maki rolls were... I was definitely expecting small, minute rolls, however, the size of the pieces were a good size, which many high end sushi places the maki rolls are generally tiny. My personal favorites include the toro truffle, the love of salmon, salmon on fire, as well as the coconut sphere dessert. The coconut sphere dessert was honestly my favorite that we ordered that night; it was incredibly refreshing and nothing like any dessert I have ever had previously. I will say though that the seafood risotto was all right, lacked flavor, but still tasted fresh. The chilean sea bass was delicious and buttery! I recommend getting the lychee martini, it was divine. Parking wise, there were many parking spots available outside of the restaurant, which I believe are meter parking. Overall, I had a lovely experience here at Oishii and will be visiting soon again.

A friend and I decided to try out Oishii for a weekend dinner. I ordered for myself a salmon skin handroll ($9 each, always a sucker for these), a Spicy Tuna Tempura Roll ($24) and a Sudachi Seared Hamachi Roll ($22) to share. Every ingredient in the Salmon Skin Handroll lie at just the right temperature, ensuring a delightful blend of flavors without any unpleasant surprises. No refrigerator vegetable with hot salmon skin here. The pea shoots and micro-greens added a touch of freshness that elevated the dish. The Spicy Tuna Tempura possessed a creative combination of flavors and textures. The warm tuna tataki, along with chives, crispy garlic, and micro cilantro, proved complex. The Sudachi Seared Hamachi possessed a creamy texture and a refreshing citrus kick at the end. It served as a palate cleanser and provided a unique contrast to the other dishes. While everything proved interesting, I find it difficult to justify $20+ speciality rolls. The price definitely went towards the atmosphere, a modern chic sort of Japanese restaurant that you could find on the Las Vegas strip.

We had a few issues with the service during our dining experience. Let's start off by saying I was there as a party of 2 seated at the sushi bar. During our almost 2 hour of dining, our water was only filled once. With so many waiter/waitress/bussers walking past us, no one noticed we needed a refill on water for over 30 minutes of empty cups. Secondly, my husband ordered a sushi and sashimi combo and I ordered a few rolls. His combo came out first and he had spent about 30 minutes in eating already and my rolls still had not come out. After trying to get the waitress attention to check on the rest of the food, she informed us that "they usually serve the rolls last". That just made no sense to us. Also keep in mind she never asked if we wanted everything to come out once it was ready or if we were sharing the food. Thirdly, for someone who is spending $90 for a sushi and sashimi combo, you'd think someone would explain to you what fish is being served to you, but NOPE! No explanation whatsoever even with the chefs standing right in front of you. For $90 you could eat a whole omakase meal in NYC with much better service. Lastly, we decided that before we left we wanted to give some feedback to the manager of our experience. However, we did not get the sense that the manager has much experience.

We had the lobster dumplings which was deep fried. The lobster tempura roll and the "Real" California roll were fantastic. The Japanese crabcake was a letdown as it was not real crab but krab sticks(kani). The Coconut Sphere was good because of the coffee mouse but the whole shell is just ice. Definitely recommend to dine in once.

Came here for a special occasion and it was one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. It's sleek and dark inside which gives it a romantic vibe. The server was attentive and helpful in guiding us through the menu. They start you with a tasty edamame mousse. We got the salmon on fire which was sweet and delicious. We got the chefs sushi and sashimi and it was a great way to sample. We finished with the toro truffle maki and it was the best thing of the night. Will definitely be back and I 10/10 recommend

One of the most loveliest experiences! Truly a divine and relaxing place to go for some sushi and japanese entrees that were absolutely delicious. Their wagyu tartar was definitely the star of the show. The peppers on top matched perfectly with the beef melting on your tongue. If you like a kick of spice, this is the one for you!! The sushi was very high quality and we adored the appetizers very much. Our waitress was lovely and everything was very quick. A beautiful restaurant in Boston and a must visit. Definitely would get the salmon on fire for a cool little show!

Great date night place. Our server was super attentive to us and gave great recommendations based upon what we were interested in trying on the menu. Drinks and food came out very quick only downside we wish was the order of the maki coming out. Wish the appetizer came first then our maki but the flavor of it all was so good. The squid ink noodles were our favorite (tasty and garlic flavoring 5 stars). The salmon on fire was our second favorite for an app. Def recommend the Hamachi truffle was super rich in flavor for a roll and the white tiger was a nice balance roll. Dessert presentation was stunning but we felt the execution of eating the black sesame non non was a bit touch since the chocolate was hard to break off the plate. Def recommend this place was really great taste in all the dishes.

We've now been here twice and can honestly say we really enjoyed the food! Last time we had the omakase and this time we just ordered off the menu. The fish is fresh, presentation is on point, and the service is very friendly. There was nothing to complain about at all!

Fiance brought me here for my birthday and I thought the omakase was thoughtful and delicious, although it was surprisingly heavy on dessert, which I wasn't a fan of. We had the 6 course omakase and added on the wagyu. There's an edamame based amuse bouche, followed by 4 really delicious fish based courses. My favorite was the truffle salmon, followed by the very fresh nigiri. The extra wagyu was also exceptional. No complaints about the wonderful courses. They did, however, provide two very decadent desserts- one was a red bean ice cream with creme brulee, and the second was .. I suppose a coconut ball with some coffee ice cream. I'm not a huge fan of dessert myself (one is usually enough and typical for an omakase, where you're really going for the savory foods) and it was surprising to get so much dessert. I would have preferred a fifth small course and a small dessert to better showcase the excellent food.
Be the first to ReplySalmon on fire was good.
But the chef sushis sashimi combo was extremely overprice (90bucks, I can get it under 40 at another quality Japanese restaurants). Not that special at all... very disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyI went here for the first time last week for the omakase.
I have to say, this placed WOWed me. We got the six course omakase. I don't really have a dish I disliked, my favorite was the wagyu with stone grill. My second favorite would be the miso salmon with brown rice. This dish is super flavorful and salmon was cooked just right. They were accommodating of my allergies to shellfish and I still experienced great food despite the allergy. In my photos, you'll see the six courses plus two desserts after the omakase. The staff were attentive and nice and all the food were spaced out great that you'll leave the place full. I would definitely come back to this place again!

COVID vaccinations cards or picture of your card required upon checking in.Upscale sushi restaurant with what seems like plethora of fresh fish options. The toro (fatty tuna) sushi is amazing, we kept ordering more cause it was melt in your mouth delicious. We got the toro truffle roll and the I love salmon roll. The toro and truffle combo can't be beat and I highly recommend it. All in all very good sushi, but knock off 1 star for price as I think there are plenty of other sushi restaurants around Boston that have quality fish without the price tag.

We had the pleasure to go back to Oishii a couple weeks ago and again, it was amazing. One of the best sushi restaurants to try if you're in Boston. We were lucky enough to have Branden again! His service attentiveness is A1. We ordered our usual which is wagyu sliders, alligator maki, truffle toro maki, ย uni, and foie gras. We decided to add in the chefs sashimi choice and it did not disappoint . The presentation was everything. Hoping we'll be back soon and will be trying new things on the menu! Thank you!

The sushi here never really disappoints but is way overpriced for what it is. You can bring a date here to impress by paying for the bill. Inside is extremely dimly lit, so that can help set the mood for you to seductively pull out your wallet.Boston has so many other options for fresh fish with similar portions and presentation, I find it hard to justify coming here.

Be the first to ReplyThe best of all japanese in my opinion.
I have been dining ย at this place at least once a month for the past 3 years and they deliver consistently on the quality and flavor. A must try if you are in the Boston area.
Be the first to ReplyDon't bother.
All the hype about this restaurant is,sadly, just hype. The sushi is mediocre at best, with some flash and flame to keep folks happy for their social medial photos. Mushy tuna sushi, tartar over sauced (better at a steak house!), uninspired courses and served tapas style (not at all Japanese!) with disinterested servers. Prices match actual good sushi in NYC - don't bother.

If you're looking for a great way to burn through a mortgage payment while eating high quality fish and rice, Oishii is waiting for you to come to dinner. This place is fantastic, and totally worth the kidney I sold to pay the bill. ย It's a weird layout though, you walk in, it's sleek and dark and there is a bar area with tables as you'd expect. Then you go downstairs, and it's a weird maze of tables tucked in all over the place, it seemed like there were "hidden rooms" in three every direction.Best dumplings we have ever eaten. Sake was GOOD. Sushi and rolls were as good as we have had anywhere; NYC, LA, SF etc. Staff was super attentive.Absolutely worth going to, but be prepared for the bill.
