My boyfriend surprised me by taking me here for my birthday
My boyfriend surprised me by taking me here for my birthday and it was one of the best experiences we've ever had at a restaurant! First, the place is small (I think only 10 ish seats?) so you need to make sure you make reservations and arrive *on time*. Their omakase menu consists of 15 courses and you have a 1 hour seating limit (don't worry, it's enough time to enjoy each course). We loved everything we ate - each piece was so fresh and tasty! We also ordered the peach nigori sake, which was DELICIOUS - highly recommend (tastes like those Asian peach candies). You can order additional nigiri or sashimi via their a la carte menu on the wall if you're still feeling hungry. Special shout out to our chef, Chef Henry, and waiter, Alan!! They referred to us by our name the whole night and it just made the whole experience that much more personal and memorable. We also got an extra piece of tuna maki from Chef Henry at the end of our meal and took several shots of sake with him and Alan throughout the meal. Needless to say, the vibes here are on another level and quite different from a traditional omakase place - all in a positive way. Everyone here is so kind and attentive, I honestly cannot recommend this place enough!!

Service was great, omakase course was delicious! The staff have a great vibe to them and brought the tasting to life. Sushi was delicious, extremely fresh. Will be back

REALLY IMPRESSIVE OMAKASE! Super intimate (about 9 seats total) at the bar. The staff was super attentive the whole time-they didn't miss a beat! The quality of the fish was INCREDIBLE. It melted in our mouths and was crazy fresh. We barely had to chew. Every element was perfect. Our chef was very friendly and warm and willing to chat a little (they were all chinese chefs who spoke mandarin and a little english). The chef next to ours was pretty cold though and didn't chat. They worked quickly because the reservation was for one hour and one hour only but it was enough. I even had time to order three more pieces and not feel rushed. It was 15 pieces for a little under $89 which we thought was a good deal. In CA we've paid more for less (like 10 pieces) at other omakase places. I ordered 3 more pieces because I was starving! Uni, Kobe, three different levels of fatty tuna, salmon, mackrel, ebi, every bite was so delicious, varied in texture and preparation. Every bite was sumptuous. It truly melted in our mouths. I've had a more variety at other omakase places (like octopus, and squid, etc) but it was really so delicious I didn't mind that a lot of it tasted different but similar. Most of the bites were very rich and tasted over the top! I would go back in a heartbeat! It was a special meal we won't soon forget.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food and service.
High quality sashimi in a hole in the wall type setting. Although the food was good at the end of your time the staff pressures you to pay and leave to set up for the next round of reservations. For the price, I wish the restaurant would allow customers to enjoy their time and allocate 15-20 min at the end so that they can order additional food or enjoy their beverages

Fresh, exceptional service, and an intimate ambiance that you need to experience! The Omakase lunch/dinner is a 15 course menu ($89 per person) with only 10 seats available at a time and 3-4 chefs so you and your guests pretty much have your own dedicated chef. The food was amazing and surprisingly very filling. Our server and chef were attentive and friendly. Somehow the dinner experience turned into a karaoke party with the rest of the diners! Top 5 sushi/seafood dinners I've ever had. Also: not a huge fan of unagi but after trying theirs (flown in daily from Japan), I am a believer.

Amazing unbeatable experience! Intimidate omakase experience at an affordable price. Reasonable alcohol prices. Very friendly chef who gave some free sake and created a great communal vibe. I think the counter only seats around 10 people. Too bad the meal finishes so soon -- leaves you wanting more...
Be the first to ReplyThis is one of the best Omakase experiences I've had in
This is one of the best Omakase experiences I've had in awhile. 15 courses for $89 & the quality was excellent. The experience was fun and our chef made sure to ask about allergies and inform us of each course before we had it. We also opted for the caviar bump & oceanic kiss - both great additions!

The place was very accommodating and the late party had a quicker omakase cus they came late... chef served them quickly and was efficientThe couple next to us was celebrating a birthday so we even got to enjoy a slice of Eileen's cheesecake thanks to them :)Sushi was good... my fav was the amberjack, medium fatty tuna, fatty tuna with caviar, wagyu, unagiAlso the firefly squid was good and something unique to this restaurant and is a delicacyThe experience here was one of the better ones than the more expensive omakases we've been to. I love how welcoming and kind everyone is. The service is really great here and I really loved how the regulars were so close with the staff. The food was also so good. My bf doesn't like ikura and so he gave it to me and the chef noticed and gave him yellowtail cus he heard him say he liked it :) love that they did this and we also asked for less rice and they did that for us and the rice was also really good lol :) and I loved how they kept refilling our ginger without us having to askWould def recommendAmbiance isn't fine dining but I love that you can dress casually or dress up a bit if you want :)Also bathroom has mouthwash, tampons, and other things which is niceThe 15 we ate:AmberjackYellowtailSeabream snapper spicy fishy roeIkuraSeamass saba (location in japan) mackerel Ebi uni (shrimp uni)Hokkaido scallop and charcoal saltSeared belly salmon with miso bean on topTunaMedium fatty tuna with pickled wasabiFatty tuna (otoro) with caviarHokkaido uniWagyu a5 truffle saltUnagi (eel)Firefly squid

My fiancé and I decided we wanted to try omakase for the first time for my 25th birthday, and decided to come here due to the Yelp reviews. The omakase was 90 per person and had 15 pieces. I have a picture of most the games sushi but not all. Food: 5/5 The sushi pieces were so fresh and delicious. Although it was not crazy creative, it brought quality classic nigiri that we thoroughly enjoyed. My fiancé was joking that we'd never be able to eat cheaper sushi again. My favorite was the salmon because I am extremely basic, but I don't usually enjoy tuna, but the fatty tuna was definitely another favorite. Service: 5/5 the servers handed and plated us individually and there is 1 chef attending to each party. Our chef was on the quieter side which was fine since my fiancé and I are both introverts. The chef also poured us complimentary sake and the servers gave me a free hand roll with a candle in it for my birthday. It was the cutest thing ever. Since the shop is so small everyone sang for me too which was awkward, but appreciAmbiance: 4/5 the shop is incredibly small, with hangers underneath the table for bags. It is all bar seating as well so you are sitting next to strangers, which I personally didn't like too much. Definitely could suit other people who don't mind crowding and contact with strangers. Otherwise the restaurant is clean and feels modern.

TLDR: new favorite omakase spot and it's under $100?! I live in the area and have walked past korami a few times and saw it super busy so me and my roommates decided to give it a try! The vibes are not like a traditional omakase restaurant - there was Rihanna blasting when we walked in and the sushi chefs were super fun and even poured us some drinks! Such a fun experience! The meal was a 15 piece set with additional items you can purchase if you're still hungry at the end. There wasn't a single piece of nigiri that I disliked. Everything tasted so fresh and full of flavor; I still can't believe it's less than $100. I think my favorites were the cold-smoked saba, the chutoro with pickled wasabi and seared otoro with caviar. After the 15 piece set, I got an "oceanic kiss" which was a monaka (rice wafer) filled with sushi rice and topped with ikura, otoro, uni, and caviar. A little salty, but super decadent and satisfying. Overall, I love this place so much that I kind of want to keep it a secret, but everyone deserves good food! Can't wait to eat great, relatively affordable omakase with great vibes and fun staff again.

Amazing service from the moment we step foot into the restaurant. I loved that they greeted us by name and took in consideration of everyone's celebratory events, especially my husband's birthday. Seating for 10 so it's super intimate with 3 chefs. My husband and I were lucky enough to have one to ourselves and he did not disappoint! All the pieces were carefully crafted and I love that some pieces are seasonal, so definitely will be coming back! I love that they ask for allergies or food preferences beforehand and will accommodate guests accordingly. The music was lively and kept us bopping along, the hour passes by so quickly with good music, food and conversation. Our chef was chatty enough and interjected at all the right moments. After the 15 pieces were done, they gave us the chance to order extras or pieces that we had before. Our favorite was the seared toro with the caviar on top! We also ordered the King Kong and the Oceanic kiss. Our favorite drinks were the yuzu sake, it was so light and sweet! We can't wait to come back with friends or even for my birthday in the near future!
Be the first to ReplyMy Fiancé and I had our 2 year anniversary here.
This Omakase offers a 15 course meal for $89. This place is very is very small but utilizes their space very well. We came early and was seated in the waiting section and was offered water. We got to see a glimpse of what we are about to have. Now on to the courses. My favorite has been the sable and the seared salmon with foie gras. Both courses were seared with a mini blow torch and the flavors are unforgettable. The fish tasted fresh and it just melts in your mouth. We also ordered a la carte and got Nodoguru. The restaurant congratulated us on our anniversary and gave us some some house sake. It was very strong and after 1 and a half serving, I was started to feel it. The service was phenomenal and sushi chefs are very knowledgeable as well. We also ended up getting a free course which consisted of tuna and radish. For the price and how much courses you get, it is pretty affordable. I would love to definitely come back again. FYI, you can find some free parking too!
Be the first to Reply1 hour Omakase by Korami.
We were served 15 pieces of sushi over the course of 1 hour. Staff were very friendly and professional. This was my first omakase experience so I'd say this was a very good beginner omakase place. My favorite was the Wagyu Beef. Each piece tasted very flavorful. However, I felt that it wasn't much different than a normal sushi restaurant. The fish was very similar in quality. Toro Tuna had a nice fat to meat content. Sea Urchin was very salty but this was also my first time having it. Caviar tasted rich and a bit buttery also mild with no pronounced intensity.Overall, the experience was okay. I would probably try other places before I think about coming back here.
Be the first to ReplyIncredible.
Amazing attention to detail, super high quality everything, level of service and quality you would expect out of a much pricier place and still maybe not even get. Of all the omakase in the city this is by far my favorite

I always pass by this place but never tried until my bf randomly made a resy. Looks very low key from the outside but the food is great!! It's one big chef's table, so you sit next to strangers, but everyone was very friendly. The sushi was good, the 15 courses left us feeling full, and the waiter (host?) would also give us shots of "happy water" (sake ;)) which I obviously enjoyed. The place was filled when we went, so you'd def need a reservation.

What a great experience, 15 pieces for $89, each piece was so fresh and packed with flavor! Favorites were the sablefish and toro tuna with caviar, melts in your mouth! Also it is byob so we brought a big bottle of sake and shared it with the chef who was engaging and cheering with us as we were celebrating a bday, made the experience so much more memorable! I will be back again!
Be the first to ReplyWe had a lovely anniversary omakase dinner here this past
We had a lovely anniversary omakase dinner here this past weekend! At $89/person (excluding tip) for 15 courses, it's a great deal. Our 15 bites included strip jack, hamachi yellowtail, sablefish, golden eye snapper, salmon roe, Spanish mackerel, spotted prawn, scallop, king salmon topped with foie gras, akami (lean tuna), chutoro (medium fatty tuna), otoro (fatty tuna), Hokkaido uni, A5 wagyu, and eel topped with unagi sauce and shaved yuzu.My favorites were the sablefish and salmon topped with fois gras! The seared fish with the seared fois gras?! HEAVEN. Melted right in my mouth. We each ordered nodogoru a la carte (an additional $11/piece) because it was my favorite bite at the last omakase we went to last year, but I think the sablefish and salmon still beat it in terms of taste! Service was great. They kindly gave us sake on the house to celebrate our anniversary as well as an additional bite (outside of the 15 courses) of tuna and horseradish wrapped in nori. Delicious! Our sushi chef Ryan was very nice and it was a joy to watch him. I do wish the sushi chefs (there were 3) took the time to explain each fish as they were preparing or serving it, but I suppose that'd be too time consuming when each seating is only 1 hour long. Overall, a great experience and we look forward to returning one day :) Thank you to the staff for making our anniversary so memorable! Free street parking was easy for us to find on W 50th St!

1 hour seatings, $89pp flat rate (not including tip) for 15 courses: strip jack, hamachi yellowtail, sablefish, golden eye snapper, ikura (salmon roe), spanish mackerel, spotted prawn, hotate (scallop), king salmon, akami (lean tuna), chutoro (medium fatty tuna), otoro (fatty tuna), uni (sea urchin), a5 wagyu, and finally, unagi. My favorite ones were the hotate, king salmon (topped with foie gras), and chutoro. There's liberal use of the torch which is a fun flare. We accompanied the meal with yuki nigori white peach sake. After 15 courses, I was pretty full, but there are additional a la carte items for order. My brother finished off the meal with an order of the oceanic kiss ($20) - which is caviar, uni, toro, and ikura atop rice + an edible cracker. It's as delicious and as extra as it sounds. Service was kind. In terms of improvements, would've loved to hear more about each piece as it was being prepared, but I get that it's challenging given the time-limited seating. Overall, a delight!
Be the first to ReplyWhat an awesome experience we had.
. from the very inviting vibe to the attentiveness of the staff.. and our course for the star of the show,, the sushi experience was good. the chef was very friendly, and even posed ( almost staged ) the food whenever he sees someone taking a pic or a vid! this was pretty cool. the sushi served literally took you on a roller coaster ride. each sushi had a different level of taste which was very interesting, after dinner, it was a topic of discussion as to which ones rated top and so on.. this was such a great experience that I will be going back here again.
Be the first to ReplyI really wanted to give more stars and I was so excited to
I really wanted to give more stars and I was so excited to try this omakase ; however, it was good but not great. I love omakase and the specialty of the pieces. This place was all about tuna. They give you a full experience of tuna from regular tuna to chu toro and finally otoro. However I didn't need to waste a tasting on 15 course with a regular tuna. The other pieces were good but not memorable. On the other hand, they do serve alcohol but allow byob as well. I love that. The chefs are super nice and my sons bday they gave him a bday hand roll with candle...super sweet. I hope them success for $89pp for $15 course is pretty good but only allow 1hr seating.
Be the first to ReplyMade reservation in advance to check out this omakase place.
First time trying this experience and it won't be the last.Upon arrival we were seated and the host explain to us about the process. Place was a bit small, but accommadated about 10 people during dinner. It was a great dinning experience. The chef served us each piece by piece. Everything tasted so good. I wasn't a fan of the uni though. Even though I've had it before, my taste buds wasn't feeling it. There were a few birthday celebrated during the dinner and we got a free sake. Decent pricing for omakase. Great service.
