Food was excellent however there was a huge line which I waited an hour for and the host accepted a 10 euro bill for a party of 4 to skip the line. Not cool.
Be the first to Replythe ratings are so high but the food is solid.
don't think it's anything special but gets the job done. If I ever visit Rome again not sure I would hit this place because there's so much other food in the area. I literally couldn't finish the cacio e pepe but worth the try I guess??
Be the first to ReplyExcellent dinner.
The service was amazing. The pasta is rolled fresh. I had the carbonara and it was so flavorful. The waiter was helpful and fun. And the bill was so cheep! I loved the location and everything about this place!
Be the first to ReplyI wanted confirm the buzz about Osteria da Fortunata.
Walked in and was quickly sat for a table for 5. The place is "snug" by American standards meaning you may be sitting very close to another party. But I've travelled enough where that cultural barrier is not a thing. Seated facing the front window were 2 people hand making pasta. We had to order the Carbonara, Cacio e Pepe, & the Amatriciana. I personally had 2 glasses of house red which was good. Pasta was slightly al dente with a chewy texture. Even my 10 y/o daughter ate the Cacio e Pepe and that was a compliment. Believe me, as a parent progressing her from Mac & Cheese to Fettuccine Alfredo to now being able to eat Cacio e Pepe. She originally ask for Fet. Alfredo which I politely shot down saying that is an "American dish" air quotes. All in all. Great food. Great service. PRO TIP: don't expect the servers to hover over you or check in every 10 minutes like American servers which is nice.

Amazing! Pasta and wine can't be beat! Being able to watch them craft the pasta right in front of you says it all.!

I've been coming to Rome for the past 6 years and in the recent times i can recall there always being a line outside this restaurant! The good news is it moves fairly quickly. We sat outside under the tent and could see the woman making handmade pasta from the window. The service was good but prices were OK (still reasonable compared to New York prices). The cacio e Pepe was so delicious! And I sampled my mom's carbonara which was great as well. Both were a bit "heavy" with the sauce however I didn't mind that If you're in Rome near campo di fiore it's worth visiting!

The nice thing about this place: it's a decent restaurant that you can come to without a reservation near the tourist areas. Downside: expect 30 minute or longer waits depending on your party size. We got the gnocchi with meat sauce and ox tail stew. Food is a little more expensive here than other restaurants. However, you also get more food. We didn't have room for dessert after finishing everything. Small comments about the food: flavor is very good. Both dishes have small amounts of meat although I think that's typical of many of the dishes we've had in Italy. The tomato sauce on the ox tail stew was really good so we dipped our bread into it. Didn't waste a single drop. The gnocchi is also good but my taste buds got a little bored of the flavor near the end. Servers are very nice and professional. I'm a bit of a bigger guy so the tables and spacing is also a little cramped.
Be the first to ReplyThe gnocchi was the best I had ever had.
The restaurant was really crowded for seating. Service was standard. We loved watching them make pasta!
Be the first to ReplyThis place is unfortunately a major tourist trap.
They have multiple chains all over Rome and are famous on social media. Highly recommend NOT going here. My boyfriend got the cacio e pepe which was extremely salty and honestly.. Olive Garden pasta has better quality pasta than this place. I ate the TAGLIOLINI AL PESTO which didn't even taste like pesto. Please save your money and go to an authentic Roman pasta restaurant. Good pasta in Rome is about 10 euros. This pasta was about 17 euros per plate. Totally not worth it.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing hand made pasta! Great location and great service.
10 out of 10! Get the meatballs and the cacio e pepe.

Based on a friend's recommendation, we had lunch here and we were not disappointed. First place in Italy we have eaten at with excellent service. The Cacio e Pepe was delicious - cooked just right and had ample sauce for the noodles. The chocolate cheesecake is unparalleled in flavor and texture. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyA very busy restaurant in Campo Dei Fiore.
The Gnocchi alle Sorrentino was recommended by Roberto and it was delicious. Service was attentive. My companion had the carbonara and spoke well of it as well. The bread was also good and fresh. We sat outdoors and tables were tight but do-able and heaters were provided as well as clear plastic walls. Not our favorite dining experience in Rome but solid.

Good food, lovely staff and nice to see pasta being rolled while in restaurant. Nice experience.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely a must eat at place.
It was so cool to watch the ladies up front make fresh pasta right before my eyes. They were super friendly! The customer service is outstanding. We were seated fast and before the crowds. There was a long line by the time we left. The highlight and my favorite dish was the Cacio e Pepe. The pasta texture and flavors are amazing!!
Be the first to ReplyEverything was delicious.
We had the carciofi romano (artichokes) cooked to perfection as was the melanzane alla parmigiana and spaghetti all'amatriciana. Nice house red from the region. The service was impersonal and seemingly overworked and the pasta makers in the window a little hokey but I'd go back!

Came into this place since they were the only good looking pasta place open on a sunday and the reviews were looking good. I ordered the cacio e pepe and my wife and family ordered a variation of red sauce and noodles. I will admit my expectations were high going here because we are in italy and im from the USA but this tasted like a lean cuisine/ microwaveable dish. The noodles were hard and the sauce was cold. We paid about 90 euro for 4 dishes and a glass of wine so it was not cheap by any means. 2 stars because mine was edible but my family reported theirs had no flavor. Would not recommend

Long lines but worth it!!! Service is amazing, the food is fresh (someone is in the front making noodles) and everything is prepared well. Add to your list whenever you visit Rome!
Be the first to ReplyYummy food, great location and great service.
We got gnocchi and fettuccine carbonara. Then we had tiramisu for dessert. Everything was perfect and so good. We would come back!

What can I say? If you're looking for delicious, authentic Roman pasta classics, Osteria da Fortunata is the place to go! I sampled the pasta Amatriciana and Gricia. Both were bursting with flavor. The Gricia was outstanding with fresh, homemade pasta and bits of guanciale-or crisp, heavenly morsels of fried pork. I cannot wait to head back when I'm in Italy for my honeymoon in April!
Be the first to ReplyThis place has had a line all week every night.
Finally tried it out tonight and was not disappointed. Saba the waiter comes at you hard and fast and had me ordering ox-tail before I knew I wanted it. Very righ and falling off the bone it paired great with the homemade pasta with tomato and basil MBH ordered. Son enjoyed the carbonara. All pastas tasted like they're been made moments before we consumed. Heaping cheesecake and berries for dessert. Hope to return before we depart.
Be the first to ReplyThe food is good but the service wasn't so much .
I'm willing to sit in line for about 30minutes and be patient since I understand it's tourist season ,but our server was rude from the start. He handed me the menu like I was a nuance . The problem here is there's not enough workers for the amount of customers coming in. Our waiter seemed rude and stressed out the whole night didn't feel welcoming . At one point he tossed the utensils on our table when we asked for utensils. There was another point we seen him running after someone ?Because of the lack of employees they will take a while to take your order . I think this place is super hyped you can find wayyy better food and service at another restaurant . Its very unfortunate, the experience and ambiance would be better if the owners hired more workers .The cherry on top is when you pay you are forced to give them a 15%-20% tip for such awful service. Lol We are willing to pay $$$ if the service is great but that is just very arrogant and bad business. You're better off checking out Mimi e Coco or Taverna Trilussa where you get better welcoming experience with better tasting food !!
