We were in London for a weeek and was looking for a good pasta restaurant. All their pasta were homemade and taste AWESOME! Their menu is simple but every dish is done to perfection. We ordered 4 pasta dish plus asparagus. The asparagus was on the expensive side. But the pasta were flavorful. How can we not end the meal at an excellent restaurant without a tiramisu?! We ordered one and as expected, it was great. It's busy so expect a queue (virtual).

Don't let this spot pass you by! Coming here you wont be disappointed with the fresh pasta made and prepared in front of you. The Tagliarini was both fresh and creamy complimented with chili and leamon which was complimented with a nice red. Suggest to get on the waitlist ahead of time because the line is ridiculous and even the virtual waitlist gets full however... worth it.

Simple great menu, high quality food and great service! A new favorite. We didn't have a reservation but they fit us in, which is what a place focused on delighting customers should do vs throwing shade at you!

Make sure you get the dojo app ahead of time so you can put yourself on the waitlist when you are close to the restaurant. For us the wait time was actually only about 1/3 of the quoted wait time, which was a pleasant surprise so make sure you are in the area. As for the food, everything was generally decent, but the pappardelle in with beef ragu was exceptional. The bruschetta was a bit too rough and dry and a bit bitter for my taste and the cacio & Pepe was a bit greasy and too thick for my taste. I'd actually rate this place about 3.5 stars rounding up to 4. I've had better Italian food without this much of a wait, but the food overall was good and service and ambiance was solid.
Be the first to ReplyIncredible pasta! Every dish we tried is perfection.
Service was just right and welcoming. Enjoyed their non-alcoholic options, can get loud at night but worth it for this food.

Another frequent London recommendation that was totally worth the hype!! As a solo diner I only had to wait ~15 mins for a bar seat, and walked around Borough market as I waited. What a cool vibe at the bar as you get to watch your food being made right in front of you!! Fresh pasta is always a win for me. I ordered the pesto and I kinda wish I had gotten a different sauce as this was good but a little boring after a few bites. But the pasta itself was fantastic, as was everything else I had. A little pricey but I'd pay again for that view of the kitchen! Highly recommend stopping by before a show at the Globe if you can swing it!

Queued up here just before it opened so we were able to be seated at the window right away. After my visit to Italy, I realized that Pici is my favorite type of pasta but I struggle to find it in many restaurants in the US or UK. I was excited to see it on the menu here so I had to try it. The prices were quite steep and the portions quite small, but the food was tasty. I'm glad I was able to try it, but I would not come back for this price.

I think I need to stop ordering cacio e pepe at restaurants outside of Italy because I always end up disappointed. It was recommended to me by the server so I tried it but...I don't know. It certainly had the right amount of pepper, which I was thrilled about but the cheese was just not cheesing the way it should have.

The last time I was here was 2019 & this place still has great quality pasta. They always has a line so make sure to get on the queue before the restaurant opens via the QR code. Wait is usually 40 min or so. Food is freshly made, service is great, & the ambiance is a cool 2 story spot next to borough market. The pici cacio e Pepe was a bit too aldente for me but nonetheless delicious. Will definitely be back!

I tried the famous pasta which was delicious, but i felt like the quantity was not it. Service was stellar and we were treated very well, and the ambiance is great as there are two floors with lots of space - feels like you are at a hidden spot!

My favorite meal in London, I would recommend it again and again!Opens weekdays at 11:30am so I showed up around 11:20am and put our name on the list via QR code. Table was ready but I was browsing the market so got back around 11:45am-11:50am. Wow, the place was so packed already! The ground/top floor seemed cool with bar seating where you can watch them make the pasta. We were sat downstairs at the bar where the bartenders are. The bar stools are goddamn uncomfortable. Worst part of the experience. We shared 2 dishes:-PAPARDELLE WITH 8 HOURS BEEF RAGU. The pasta noodles were so perfect but I wasn't in love with the meat. It wasn't bad though. - TAGLIARINI WITH CRAB (LOBSTER?) I forget which one it was. Gosh the pasta noodles were so perfect on this one too and I loved the crab and all the spices blended together. A+Glad I got to try both as they were pretty different from each other, but both oh so good.
Be the first to ReplyWow wow wow.
This was incredible. Some of the best pasta I have had. We put our name into the queue and we're surprised to be sat within five minutes. Staff could not have been friendlier and each staff member pleasantly interacted with us as they served our food. The food was divine. Some of the best pasta dishes I have ever had. Try the 8-year old beef pasta- that was our group's highlight. So fresh and light. Incredible!!

Yum! I don't think Padella even needs my review-everyone seems to already know it's the best!Visiting from America, we spent the afternoon exploring Borough Market and the surrounding area. Padella had been recommended, and we happened to stumble upon it as it is quite literally right next to the market. Anyways, as we did some online research, we realized we'd want to join the queue ASAP since they don't take reservations. We joined at 4:30 right when it opened up (via QR code outside the restaurant), and then continued to explore Southwark. Got a text a little after 5pm, and we headed back to be seated. The restaurant is small and simple, but that's usually a good sign. We were pleasantly greeted by the host who seated us at the end of the bar and mentioned we would have 1.5hrs (understood, because this place is busy!) We enjoyed sourdough bread, a Negroni, white wine, Nduja pasta, and cacio e Pepe. It was all delicious, and the atmosphere was great. Within 15 minutes of us being there, there was a line outside and every seat was full! Padella is a must. The pasta is handmade right in front of you, and you can really taste the freshness. We concluded our meal with some tiramisu which was also perfect! The service was quick! Our server was very sweet as was the rest of the staff. Not a single negative thing to say. Wish I could visit London more so I could come back to eat this pasta!

It's hard to do pasta much better than this! They serve all the classics plus some more unique seasonal recipes of their own. We tried the Cacio e Pepe and the Ravioli which were delicious but the Tagliarinj blew us away. We still talk about this pasta whenever we go anywhere else and can't wait to try it again! Be prepared to queue but it's so worth it!
Be the first to ReplyLiterally Perfection.
Amazing service and dynamic. So fire. A guy with glasses, red beanie, and earring amazing dude.

The hype is real, every time I'm on London I make sure to come by. They don't take 'reservations' but you can download an app or scan the QR code outside their building and get in the queue. I usually come in the afternoon since it's less crowded. The food overall is always on point and I've never had an issue. The drinks compliment the food well (I had a negroni) and you can't beat their prices -- they have plates for around $8! It took a bit of time to decide what to have because everything looked so good, and the staff were very helpful and patient with me. All the food tasted fresh and flavorful and major points with the heavy hand on the parm cheese.
Be the first to ReplyWow, must visit for hand made pasta in London.
The cacio e pepe is to die for and better than most I've eaten in Rome, where the dish is most famous. The pappardelle was also good, although I prefer the cacio e pepe. The line can be quite long, so be prepared to wait. The portions are small, so for two people 3-4 pastas should be enough.
Be the first to ReplyPasta was great but I don't get what's the hype? We tried
Pasta was great but I don't get what's the hype? We tried to line up for it twice but the first time we were here, we had to wait 2 hours to get a table so we gave up. To be fair, the restaurant is very small with not a lot of tables but man even if we are willing to have a drink somewhere else, it's still 2 hours so we decided to not stay and wait. The second time we tried was only half an hour so it's alright. One piece of advice is that come on odd times like 2pm when people are not trying to get a table for lunch. They are known for cheap pasta but I paid £15 each for the pasta we ordered and it wasn't a big portion so idk what cheap is to other people. Overall it's quite tasty but frankly there're many pasta places that has less wait time and do pasta just as good if not better
Be the first to ReplyWhen you walk past this place, it is hard to be noticed.
It is literally a hole in the wall, there is construction all around it and it is honestly the smallest restaurant I've ever seen. But, the food was outstanding, it was great. But the only complaint I have was that the ONLY thing on the menu was pasta. They had a few other appetizers, but I think they should have some other options too, not just pasta.

Many online articles recommended Patella as one of the place to eat at Borough Market. I heard that that the wait could be long so we came here before noon for weekday lunch. We didn't have to wait and we were seated right away in the bar area. We got to see chefs prepping and cooking the food up close.I got the cavatelli and my BF got the Pappardelle. Our pasta were delicious and the food felt very comforting. I would definitely comeback again for another pasta meal. :)

Fabulous! We luckily happened upon this place 15 minutes before it opened (5 pm) and saw them rolling out the pasta through the window. Even though I was hangry, we put our name on the list. It was worth the 35-minute wait. Not only because the queue quickly grow to a 90-minute wait, but mostly because the fresh pasta was dressed in deliciousness. I had the 8-hour beef ragu and my wife had the slightly spicy seafood sauce. A foody place without pretensions.
Be the first to ReplyThis one was good & super fast.
We had the sourdough bread (delicious), the pici cacio & pepe, fettuccine with cobble lane, & pappardelle with Dexter beef. We would order the pici and pappardelle again- super good!
Be the first to ReplyThis was hands down the best meal i had in London.
Started with the sourdough bread with olive oil and burrata appetizer. The cacio e Pepe lives up to the hype and then some. Well worth the crazy long wait. It was easy to leave our name and number and go to a pub nearby to have a pint while we waited. Sitting at the counter was a great treat because i got to see the food being made. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!!!
Be the first to ReplyAmazing, very much worth the wait.
We went with a group of four and got most of the menu: olives, salad, sourdough, salsiccia, burrata, tagliarini, fettuccine with pistachio pesto, pici with cacio pepe, pappardelle ragu, the chocolate/caramel tart, and chocolate ice cream. The sourdough is incredible (as was the olive oil that came with it), and the salsiccia was maybe my sneaky favorite app. Of the pastas, I loved all four but I think the cacio may have been my favorite -- pici is one of my favorite shapes and this one was chewy and perfect. The tart is a must for dessert.
Be the first to ReplyNever disappointed.
Their new queuing system solved their only problem of the wait. Highly recommend - crab pasta dish was a stand out.
