Lunch in the Des Invalidez area
Found by chance during a walk between the Eiffel Tower and the Muse d'Orsay. The very light background music accompanied us during one of the best lunches ever in Paris. As a tourist it is not easy to come across decent restaurants. This exceeded all expectations. Everyone's lunch was delicious. Don't expect an income statement, after all the quality of the food, refinement and atmosphere must have the right price.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing for a Guy Martin restaurant
Apart from the service, which is fast, efficient and charming; and the view of the Invalides dome is average. Dish of the day: 4 prawns on a slightly overcooked risotto. Dessert: lots of ice cream, without much taste. Wine by the glass: the bottle must have been left open too long; It's not really bad but doesn't taste too good. Of course, 35€ for a starter/main course or main course/dessert menu is not expensive for Paris and for Guy Martin, but what we have on the plate and in the glass is neither good nor bad: just disappointing. But maybe it was a bad day.

We were wonderfully surprised by this restaurant. For a Friday night it was very quiet and we were the second of only 2 tables. As we were used to local restaurants being packed we were initially concerned however any concerns were unjustified. The service was excellent and our meal outstanding. They have a decent wine list with a good range by the glass. The Amuse Bouche, bread, mushroom soup, pate, steak, veal and lime cheesecake were all delicious. Our server was attentive, friendly and helpful with recommendations. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and hope this restaurant gets the attention it deserves.

Simply our best meal in years of Paris travel. My wife had the scallops & I the px/fix tuna tartare/duck. As for memories, include this on you next list
Be the first to ReplyPricey and only so so.
We went here as part of our Rick Steves tour. The food was all pretty, but I found it to be very small portions and not much flavor. After dinner, we stopped for a snack on the way back to the hotel. If you don't buy wine, they forget about you. The place was nicely decorated and staff were nice but one and done for me.

Very high prices for decent food. Slow service, very disappointing wine list. Totally overpriced all the way. Tourists will like it, but as a Parisien, I have much better options.
Be the first to ReplyService far from meeting the standards or expectations
Food okay (quality good, price quite high). Service far from meeting the expectations. Ordered a bottle of wine, bottle much too warm, even though we chose the wine which was offered as by the glass. So, we had to wait til main dish until the wine had proper temperature. In the meantime we asked for wine by glass which should be cold enough. We were offered the same wine we waited for being cold enough. Strange story, I know. Of course the two glasses were charged on our "addition". Second big mishap: my wifes steak lacked salt/pepper and we asked for it. Service unfortunately forgot it and wifey decided to eat the steak rather without salt than cold. Lousy lousy service and therefore much too expensive. Dont go
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food, poor service.
Food was excellent, but service was very poor. We waited quite some time after being seated to getting a menu in a restaurant that was at best 1/4 full during a late lunch. My daughter's dish was delayed so bad that everyone else was nearly done by the time it finally came out despite waiting a bit before starting to eat. We even had to ask for the status twice while waiting as she sat clearly waiting for her entree. When the dish finally arrived late, we received a very half hearted sorry and the staff looked more annoyed than anything else. It's a shame that the service was poor because the food was excellent.
Be the first to ReplyBest meal of the week - You have to eat here
What a great place to eat. We decided to eat here because of the reviews on Tripadvisor. So glad we did! The food was fantastic and we all agreed that this was the best meal of our week in Paris. The staff was very friendly and made us feel at home. As you can tell from all the pictures, the presentation is beautiful. The octopus was the best I've ever had. My daughter who loves octopus was leery of the spicy sauce so she didn't order it. After cleaning her plate, she tried the octopus and ended up eating half of it. Poor dad starves again (not really because we all ordered dessert and I ate my whole lava cake by myself). You have to search Pasco out and try it. Don't settle for the touristy places on Rue Cler. Walk a couple of extra blocks and you can have your meal of the week.
