1950's DINER SERVES GOOD FRESH COOKED LOCAL CUISINE
This is the place to go when you're looking for good country cooking in an unpretentious atmosphere. The food is tasty, the servers are pleasant and helpful. And they have excellent homemade pies, made fresh daily. If you're not put off by the unattractive exterior, or the entrance that is not wheel-chair friendly and difficult for an elderly person to navigate, and the interior that has not been well maintained, you will enjoy a nice meal. Seating is in booths for 2 or 4 or on stools at the counter. This diner is about 6 miles south of the East Freedom exit of I-99 on the main highway that bypasses this rural commuity.

We used to stop in there 6 or more years ago and found everything quite good. I even remarked to my wife that I wished the restaurant was closer to home so we could go more often. We were in the area recently and decided to stop in and eat. Disappointed is the first thing that came to my mind. The waitress was about as unfriendly as I have ever encountered. She never smiled, and acted like she really didn't want to be there. Since a roast beef dinner is one of my favorite meals, that's what I ordered and my wife had the beef and noodles. It's a good thing they put some gravy over the beef because you could have choked on it as dry as it was. The beef and noodles was just tasteless with no flavor at all. I'm sorry to say we will be trying a different restaurant if we are ever in the area again. It's a shame, because I can remember earlier experiences with good food and even joking with the waitress when she told me to be sure to clean my plate like I was a child, even though I was old enough to be her father.

This is an ok place to eat in a pinch. It's a diner, food isn't terrible but it's nothing to write home about. Took kids for breakfast & very inexpensive which is appropriate for the food. Staff was EXTREMELY friendly.

Dropped into Peggyโs after being recommended by the fuel station attendant. Glad we made the detour! My partner said it was the best biscuits and gravy heโs ever had. Would highly recommend making the detour off the highway and dropping in to grab a feed and Peggyโs

Peggy's Diner was established in the 1950's and is still owned and operated by the original family. Consistency is the greatest thing going for this diner. The family recipes for everything from the best pies (especially the coconut cream), coleslaw, and hand breaded haddock on Friday's are a treat for your taste buds.

Peggy's defines diner. Right out of Mayberry. Food couldn't have been better. Waitresses are the friendliest and helpful I've seen in awhile. We had to do a double take on the bill for the 7 of us. We couldn't have eaten that cheap at a McDonald's. Only wish we had a Peggy's Diner in our neighborhood. If your skiing at Blue Knob this is where you should go for your meals.

It's a lot like a truck stop. Food is fair. The Friday night fish is what I go for it's pretty good.

Three of us stopped here for lunch after a trail hike at Blue Knob. The food was exactly what we expected for a small town diner. It filled our bellies and we were off on another adventure.

Came in on a Sunday morning my wife, 3 kids (2, 5, and 11) sat ourselves and even had to get our own Menus! We ended up stiting there for 20min and were not waited on, even though the people that came in after us had drinks and ordered. We were walking out the door one waitress said they were coming to wait on us and we said no thank you we will go to McDonalds.

Our group of 20+ folks stopped in for breakfast/brunch at Peggy's Diner and left happy and satisfied! The two of us ordered the #1 breakfast special complete with two eggs, bacon and toast, coffee and milk. With tip, we ate for less than $15! The food was delicious and the service was great! If you want a fine home cooked breakfast, be sure to stop at Peggy's!
