Not only does this place live up to hype, it exceeds it.
Super chill atmosphere with great service, and the food is to die for. Was somehow able to snatch a reservation (wednesday at 5:30 pm) and it was so worth it. Everything was really flavorful, like we could tell each ingredient had been seasoned right! We got the aloo tiki sliders, spicy garlic bread, malai rigatoni, and a northern makhani pizza with paneer and onions. Each dish was ridiculously good, but if I had to pick a favorite, it would be the pizza. Definitely one of my top 3 restaurants in LA! Can't wait to be back soon

They don't have a phone 2. Although it's quite difficult to get reservations online, it seems they typically have plenty of space for walk-ins. This is especially true in the first hour of opening (five to six pm) 3. You can make reservations in person 4. There's a parking lot in the front but it's tiny On to the food: - dosa onion rings 3.5/5 - these were good and crispy but not sure how much I liked this in general. Dosa has a bit of a sour taste so idk if I liked it with the sweet onion, but loved the size and masala on top - achaari buffalo tenders 4/5- yummy and tangy. Loved loved loved the curry leaf ranch. It's extra to get both suaces. The yogurt one is basically green raita - aloo tikki sliders 5/5- these were super yummy. Especially dipped in the curry leaf ranch - malai rigatoni 3/5- it was fine. It was yummy but not mind blowing. If you grew up brown you may have tried butter chicken sauce on pasta - that's all that is. I think for moths not familiar with Indian food or those looking for nostalgia would like this dish more. - kesar rickshaws 2.5/5- literally tastes like a thicker creamier kesar doodh over pasta. Kinda good but kinda not. I wish I had tried the eggplant pasta instead - samosa pizza 2.75/5)- the korma sauce is too delicate to be topped with so many toppings. It has some samosa ingredients but doesn't taste like a samosa if that makes sense. Not very cheesy. I wish I had tried a classic pizza - roofzah soft serve 5/5- super yummy. The ice cream is delicate and delicious- the rose taste isn't overpowering at all. The crunch salty pistachios are the perfect complement I will say the service was amazing. Our server was awesome and made the experience really nice.

Pretty solid, the wait time was a little long, but it was also super busy when we went so it was understandable! The pizza was good, chicken was a liiiiittle dryer than I excepted. The onion rings were delish. Might go back on a less busy night!

This isn't just dining; it's an experience that transcends the ordinary, where every dish tells a story of heritage fused with innovation. Pijja Palace isn't merely a restaurant; it's a destination for those who seek to savor the art of fusion cuisine at its finest.
Be the first to ReplyThis past Friday a few of my friends from OC were invited
This past Friday a few of my friends from OC were invited to LA to go try out Pijja Palace. We heard so much about this place so we were excited to check it out. Since our group was large there was already a preset menu. We had the okra tots which had a bit too much chaat masala, then we had the garlic cheese bread which seemed a bit burnt, dinner we had the rickshaw shaped pasta and also rigatoni malai pasta. The paneer pizza and chutney pizza was way too salty. I'm not quite sure this fusion of Indian-Italian cuisine worked. The food wasn't as great as it sounded on the menu. The place is really tiny located under a Comfort Inn motel and parking is limited so might have to get lucky and find parking on the street. The restaurant seating is crowded, there is a bar but it's really loud when everyone is talking and when the tv is playing. The service provided was average since they are so busy it takes time for the staff to be able to attend to every table. Overall this place is more hype than anything. For the price our group paid I would have rather gone to a fine dining restaurant for more value. Save your money and don't bother coming here as they automatically add a service fee to your bill. Heard about it place and checked it out and I will definitely not go back here again. This is my first and last.
Be the first to ReplyVery interesting concept of Indian pasta and pizza.
Definitely a modern fusion restaurant that does it very well. We got the Indian style onion rings, which were delicious. We also ordered three cocktails that were $18 each, which was a bit much for a casual place like this. We also got two pizzas and a pasta as well, which came out to $188 for three people, and they added the tip included. It was very good food and delicious, but we felt it was expensive for what it was. Overall, a popular and trendy place to eat a modern cake on Indian food, but definitely on the price your side for the neighborhood and the actual food.
Be the first to ReplyI was really excited for this Indian Italian fusion spot!
I was really excited for this Indian Italian fusion spot! Unfortunately, I think it was a bit too pricey for my tastes and I wish they were a little bit more creative with the flavors and options. We tried the Malai Rigatoni and the Indian-style pizza. The rigatoni was great, but it really just tasted like tikka masala or malai sauce with rigatoni, and although it was good, I think I'd rather just have a naan and tikka masala The Indian style pizza was also decent, but it was not as good as other spots I've tried and felt like it was missing something. The ambiance was like a classic sports bar, fairly casual and with plenty of TV screens showing. Although we made a reservation, the place was pretty empty and we were seated quickly. Service was great. I appreciate the effort to try for fusion, and I hope to to go back and maybe try some of their other options.

Food was wonderful. Everything was delicious. But our server Annalee was delightful. My biggest pet peeve is servers who don't know anything or will just say XYZ is popular with nothing else added. Annalee was the opposite of that. She Had a great knowledge of the food and drinks, willing to help as much or as little as we needed.

"Sports bar" that specializes in a sort of Indian-Italian fusion cuisine. You'll find things such as green chutney pizza, or Pijja as they like to call it, chutney pesto pasta, etc. I tried their jaggery tamarind tenders, yellow wings, saag pizza, dosa onion rings, and malai rigatoni pasta. Out of these, the rigatoni and the onion rings were definitely big hits. The onion rings were super crispy and big in size. Lots of batter but good batter-to-onion ratio. I counted 5, so order according if sharing. The pasta was actually my favorite, the sauce specifically was rich, not too heavy, and flavorful. The pasta was cooked well, not al dente authentic style, but I'm not complaining. It is super hard to get a reservation. So I suggest looking WEEKS ahead and being flexible. There is a small parking lot, but I always find it full, so street parking is your best bet.
Be the first to ReplyHonestly, it's really a 3.
5 for me. Concept is unique and service is fantastic. Food wasn't mind blowing. We tried the onion rings, caesar salad, two make your own pizzas, and the malai rigatoni. The malai rigatoni was probably our favorite pasta. The pizzas were good, though adding fresno chilies on top of spicy sauces was a little too much for everyone in our group to handle. The paneer on pizza was really unique and tasty so I recommend trying that if you visit. We tried the coffee cardamom soft serve for dessert and it might have been my favorite thing on the menu. They're not as busy as when they first opened, and it should be relatively easy to get a reservation by emailing the restaurant or showing up without one. Ambiance is fun and casual. The type of place worth trying once, but probably not worth returning to.
Be the first to ReplyPijja Palace is an awesome spot if you're craving Indian
Pijja Palace is an awesome spot if you're craving Indian food, but with a modern twist! This is my husband and I's second time visiting and the food was just as good as the first time, which was over a year ago. Cool ambiance, but plan to arrive a few minutes early to find parking since the lot is quite limited. We went on a Thursday night with reservations, we understand busy nights but it was definitely several minutes before a server came and greeted us, and they weren't very attentive throughout our meal. This was a little annoying but not enough to deter us from coming back again! P.s. If you like non alcoholic drinks, make sure to try the Peach Darjeeling!

we were excited to try this place and left very disappointed. okra tots were dry and crumbly, dosa onion rings just tasted like regular crappy rings, pasta was good, pizza was terrible - tasted like someone took a burnt cracker, put sauce and shredded cheese on it, and stuck it in a microwave too long. they gave us half off the pizza after we said something but they were kinda rude about it.
Be the first to ReplyCons: - 19% service fee.
Not a typo - nineteen percent. Tipping also requested. - Atmosphere is incredibly loud, in a bizarre kind of way. I can't hear my friend across from me, but can hear the bar 20 feet away, the tables behind me, the chatter is intolerable - Except for pasta and pizza, food was definitely sports bar food Pros: - Pastas was good, pizza was fresh. - Service is great, very positive waiter Don't be misled by the social media and food blogs, not really missing out by missing this place. I definitely feel duped after hearing the hype, and service fee is definitely a surprise, try finding out this place has a service fee on their website, you won't until to walk in the door :(

If you're into indian fusion Cuisine, especially of you're Indian looking for good options inbLA, please turn back and go anywhere but here. The 1 star is for kind and friendly staff. Else I would have given 0 or negative rating.Over hyped dosa rings are made of single white onion ring dipped in dosa batter and deep fried. Oozes oil, no salt and is tasteless. Aloo slider has uncooked potato, how could someone ruin a potato is beyond me. Green Tikka pizza ( vegetarian option) and peri peri pizza would ruin pizza for you as it oozes greasy stuff and there's no strong flavour ( spice)Okra fries is chewy and flavorless. The sauce / dip is good.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was not horrible, but with all the hype this place
The food was not horrible, but with all the hype this place gets, the experience was disappointing. We got the Dosa Onion Rings, Nihari Lamb & Shells, Northern Makhini Tikka Chicken Pizza, Chutney Pijja Pizza w/ Pineapple Chutney , and we tried both their soft serves, Cookies and Cardamom and Malted Chai. All the items were just very average. For example the pasta (Nihari Lamb & Shells), the actual pasta was cooked fine but you could tell it was not fresh pasta and the sauce had a mild curry flavor, but no flavor stood out. The lamb was tender. Then there's the pizzas, they had a texture that reminded me of frozen pizzas or the pizzas from school lunches in the 90s. The dough was chewy and the cheese felt dry. Flavor was ok, but I thought there would be more topping on them. The best thing we had was probably the dosa onion rings. They were very well fried, very crispy and came with a good sauce. The soft serve was ok. You can probably skip it. Overall, this place is not great if you want good Italian food or Indian food. I think Indian Italian fusion has great potential, but it was not executed well here. This place is not worth the hype they get.

My friend and I shared the malai rigatoni and aloo tiki sliders and they were both really good! It is on the higher end, and they include 19% gratuity in the check. The person who took our order was very nice and attentive. I would definitely go again!

We celebrated my father-in-law's birthday here this past Friday. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the cocktails. What we had:- chutney pizza: our favorite of the two, super simple yet so flavorful- samosa pizza: cheesy, potato goodness- dosa onion rings: great texture and flavor- wings: probably the least exciting dish of the night- okra fries: salty and crunchy with a tangy, cooling sauce - malai rigatoni: one of the favorite dishes of the night- sliders- soft serve: smooth treat with a perfect edition of cardamom- tiramisu (special): tasted like lime cheesecake with some Indian flavorsCan't wait to go back!
Be the first to ReplyPijja Palace is really one of those places that you have to
Pijja Palace is really one of those places that you have to try. As an avid follower of The Infatuation LA, I needed to go here and try this place for myself. Reservations are still a hit or miss, it's really hard to get one. I managed to add myself to the waitlist on a Friday night. When we arrived at the place, our wait time was 2 freakin' hours. We're like cool, we'll wait. So we walked around Silver Lake first and then went back. Luckily when we came back, some parties cancelled so our wait time was reduced to 30 minutes. As much as we wanted to get seated on a table, we were already hungry so we didn't mind sitting by the bar. We were greeted by a lovely bartender who was also the one that took our food orders. I would also like to note that the ambiance of the restaurant is very loud since it still is technically a sports bar BUT with the charm of fine dining. I first ordered the Masala Chai cocktail while my sister was browsing the menu for food. This drink is a slow killer. Sweet, strong and will make you order one more! Love it! 10/10Considering how hard it is to get a reservation here, my sister and I decided to splurge and ordered food enough for 4 people lol. It's fine, we had food to take home. And everything we got was worth it!Stuffed Mushrooms - 7/10 THEY'RE AIGHT.Green Wings - 8/10 FLAVOR WAS AMAZING BUT WAY TOO OILY.Brinjal Gemelli - 10/10 PLEASE DON'T SLEEP ON THIS ONE!Malai Rigatoni - 9/10 GOOD BUT CAN BE TOO SPICY!Pizza - 100/10 LEGIT THE BEST PIZZA I'VE HAD OMG.
Be the first to ReplyI've been trying to get a reservation here for a MINUTE and
I've been trying to get a reservation here for a MINUTE and it was well worth the wait!I know it says "sports bar" but I did not anticipate the level of noise happening in here. As soon as you step in the door you realize it's POPPIN. The space is small, but mighty, and is full of energy. Expect TVs with multiple games, laughs, cheers, and sometimes (if your team sucks) cries of despair. This is the place to be. The service was prompt and our server was knowledgeable and helpful. The runners were also on top of it and only made the service better! Everyone who touched the table was amazing. Dosa Onion Rings: the batter is thicker than traditional onion rings, but it's just as crispy. The bright, fruity, mango chutney is the best hit of flavor to go with the dish. This was a great way to start the meal. Achaari Buffalo Tenders: the meat was juicy the fry was perfect. I loved that curry leaf ranch and the pickles were superb. Malai Rigatoni: I liked this dish WAY more than I thought I would. It was creamy, velvety, cheesy, warm, and hit with a good amount of heat. This is when those peppers really started hitting ya boy ahaha. But I could have eaten another plate for sure. Green Chutney Pijja: they did those fusions so well. The dough was crispy, the sauce was savory, and the cheese was cheesing. The herby, spicy, green chutney was an explosion of flavors that really hit the spot. It's a classic on the menu for a reason. Cookies & Cardamom/Malted Chai Soft Serve: both of these are so good! I'm not really a chocolate person, so the Cookies & Cardamom won for me. The floral notes that cardamom brings to the vanilla ice cream are beautiful. Last but not least, drinks. Thums Up is my new favorite cola of all time, get that. The drinks I had were good but I don't remember the names. Also a solid choice.
Be the first to Reply4+ an Indian "sports bar" located in Silver Lake in a strip
4+ an Indian "sports bar" located in Silver Lake in a strip mall with a Comfort Inn. The food has a heavy Indian influence on sports bar classics like onion rings, wings, and pizza. The vibe was lively and the food was really delicious. There are some fun cocktails on the menu using Indian spirits as well. I'll explain my use of quotes around sports bar below, but wanna talk about the delicious food first.Just a quick note though. The reservations are pretty tough to get right now. Some friends and I decided to try to come here right at opening to get a walk in table to grab dinner before watching a movie. There was a line of about 15 to 20 people without a reservation when I got there 10 minutes before opening. We were able to get seated as long as we were to leave before they needed the table for a reservation. What we ordered:-Dosa onion rings - this had a fantastic crunch and flavor. The chutney was a great dip. I like onion rings and that was a great take.-Yellow wings (with yogurt dip) - I think these wings are baked. These were delicious and juicy with a great marinade and horseradish on top. It reminded me of tandoori chicken. -Green tikka pijja - one of the preset combinations that they have suggested on the menu. I also thought this was delicious. The flavors are great. My only note would be the crust. It was nice and crispy and yummy, but I just felt something was kind of lacking. -Malai rigatoni - probably my favorite dish of the night. I could come back and order just this or even order it for takeout. It reminded me of tikka masala or a makhani sauce. Tomato based but rich, creamy and delicious. The pasta was perfectly cooked as well with a great al denti bite to it.-Cookies and cardamom soft serve -cocktails: daiquiri and Annapurna - I thought these were well done. I used quotes around sports bar because the first time I tried coming here, I thought it would be a great place to watch football games while eating this delicious food I've been hearing about. I then found out this place doesn't open till 5 o'clock. So definitely not a place where you can watch football games during the football season, which I feel like it's pretty standard for any sports bar. Not a big deal because I definitely don't think people are coming here to watch three hour sports games, especially with the hype and demand this place is facing right now. Or if they are, I would consider that bad form only because you are taking up spots for a place that seems to need people to move through pretty efficiently. Also, it's March madness and there was a Golden State Warriors game playing right next to my head. Which I don't mind because I do like the Warriors, but you would think that if it's a sports bar, March madness would definitely be all over the place. It's like that one hipster guy with a scarf and long overcoat that shows up to a Super Bowl party and refers to the game as "sports ball" did the programming. I mean, it is in Silverlake, so it's probably considered a sports bar to a lot of the folks who don't really watch sports. Again, not a big deal because I'm definitely not wanting to eat their delicious food to watch sports here. Maybe when the hype dies down a little bit or it's easier to get a reservation but right now it's probably not a good time to sit there and watch games. I will say that it is a nice touch however, to at least be able to watch some sports in the background. Just not as the focus.Parking: I parked a few blocks away and walked up, no problem at all. But just know that it might be a little tough to find parking because it is a tiny lot and it's a busy street. Most of the folks here were super nice. I would say the service is solid. One thing I would note though: so I love whiskey. When I go to restaurants and see certain whiskeys on the shelf, I feel like I have a good knowledge to know if they're on a certain level or not. There was a Weller on the shelf and I wanted to ask the price. I also asked the price for a couple of other relatively rare whiskeys. By then it was pretty evident that the place charges a little bit more than I'd like to spend for those type of whiskeys. The server then told me that makers mark is $12. While I appreciate them giving me the prices and maybe anticipating that I was just looking for the cheapest option, I feel like an easy solution here would just be a QR menu, or at least a small whiskey list, which I asked for. Unfortunately, didn't have it. I can certainly sympathize with the server having to repeat all those prices over and over again but if you are going to have a certain level quality on the shelves available, most places have a whiskey list.I definitely would come back to try some other stuff on the menu. I think that there is a certain excitement and creativity when it comes to the food here. It's got a fun vibe too. But I would suggest trying to get the reservation or just showing up right at opening.

Make sure you make a reservation, the service and food are excellent. Definitely different and spicy!
Be the first to ReplyOkay, here's the thing.
As an Indian, I loved the food and how smartly the drinks were designed. If you really want to taste Indian food then please order something that the "Instagram influencers" ordered. I mean seriously, please order the amazing food that's actually Indian! But as a customer, I'd want to be informed earlier that there's a time limit on the tables. So if you were to go there on weekend and begin waitlist then when you get the table there's actually like 1.5 hrs limit and I don't know if it's overall or just our table for that night but there was and by then I had been waiting for an hour and ordered drinks but not food because I thought I'm getting a table. I'm not denying that it's not a for rule, all I'm saying is that I could have managed my night better if the restaurant staff informed me about all this earlier. And hence a 4 star.

Yes this place really lives up to the hype and yes you need to swing by to check it out! The green chutney pizza and Milai rigatoni were out of this world! Both bursting with unique traditional and fusion flavors. I will def be returning for those dishes Really loved their artistic take on a lot of the dishes as well as the interior! The cutest and trendiest sports bar I've ever seen! Reservations are kinda hard to come by but if you can get in through a walk in... do it! Service was also great! The staff was very friendly and accommodating! Pro Tip: If you're a guest dining there, don't be a dick and hover around people asking if they're gonna leave or ask if you can try to claim their spot when they leave. We dined at the bar and several couples did this while we were just about to wrap up our meals and enjoy the last few minutes left of the game.

Food was delish and definitely will go back. Getting there just before they open and standing in line is a good option if there are no res available
Be the first to ReplyBeen to this place in Silverlake, it's Indian and Italian
Been to this place in Silverlake, it's Indian and Italian fusion, some of the best cuisines out there.Parking: 2/10, it's hard to find parking here, I think it's an LA problem, back in the day, they used to give out permits to businesses if they could accommodate parking, a restaurant with 30 tables must have 60 spots, but LA city council is lacking. Orange County's doing a great job with this, plenty of parking for every businessAmbience: 6/10 kind of feels like India but with a more diverse crowd, lots of tables crammed into a room, and they tell you to leave after you've done eating coz they have customers waiting. Nostalgic experience hahahaService: 8/10, they have a 19% service fee included with the bill, I think USA is the only country where they expect you to visit the business and pay their employees, hopefully the owner pays the employees the Service fee. Considering the mean pay in LA is 72k a year It would be better if they had a tier system for service fee. for bills less than $150 and greater than $150, for example $500 bill would have $95 service fee, this ain't a NASA type job tbh. Food: 8/10, I think their cash cow is Dosa Onion Rings, it probably costs 50 cents to make them and they sell it to you for $9, similar to how In N Out Employees ask if you need "Fries and Drink" with your order, coz that's where the moneys at.Recommended items,Lamb Sliders: 10/10 Build your own Pizza: 9/10, this ain't your Dave Portnoy Barstool Pizza, it's got a flop and no undercarriage, it's about the tasteLamb Pasta: 8/10Annapurna and Jaggarac drinks: 8/10I asked the server working there about what she likes to order, she says ABC is popular, XYZ is popular, but she doesn't eat a lot of it coz it's spicy! Lady, we said yes to pronouns, you gotta say yes to good food.Overall 7.5/10, with better parking and a bigger room 8.5/10. Pics attached for items.
