Came for pancakes on pancake day. Best decision of the year so far. Staff are lovely and it’s a really nice, clean, place.

Staff were quite rude and looked like they didn’t want to be there. Sat us down and immediately asked what we wanted for drinks and food before we had looked at the menu, then ignored us for 20 minutes. Food was below average, the chicken and avocado sandwich was tasteless and bland. We asked for drinks waited 20 minutes and they never came, they must have been making the Diet Coke from scratch. We then tried to leave the drinks and asked for the bill which took a further 20 minutes. All in all we spent 2 hours in there due to the doziness of the staff, really wouldn’t go back there, judging by the attitudes of the staff they clearly aren’t treated/ paid very well. Would avoid here.

Very disappointing visit today. A tiny bowl of cold scouse with rock hard, stale bread which cost £10.95 began our experience, the cheesy garlic bread had no garlic and the cheese was sweet, followed by rocky road dessert which I can only liken to cement. The biscoff cheesecake was vile, gloopy, soggy and ice cream was powdery. The sticky toffee pudding was rock hard, obviously heated up in the microwave and was frozen from a packet on the side. Whole experience was horrible and this cost £60!!!! Do not go, there are so many other lovely places to eat.

Overrated and a complete disappointment for Lark Lane… I ordered sausage on toast the wait was around 30 mins. The price did not meet my expectation. The sausages looks deep fried and the bread was covered in oil. However, the food was not my main concern. A member of staff was disgusting, a young female around 20-30s. Soon after finishing breakfast she came over and took the bill insisting people were waiting to be seated, bearing in mind we had only just finished breakfast 10 mins prior. When the female was wiping the table down next to us she proceeded to continued saying to another staff member “we are waiting for them to leave”. When me and my friend got up to leave I was left with utter embarrassment of the staff member holding her hands up in the air saying “finally”, and she ordered the people to sit down while we were trying to get out of the door. This place definitely does not match with the usual standards of Lark Lane, unwelcoming and overpriced.

We sat outside. The food was good and the service was lovely. The weather was perfect for an al fresco experience
Be the first to ReplyNot a fan of the cheap sausages
Visited with my brother as we fancied a late breakfast, arrived and seated very quickly but it was really cold in the restaurant we both had to put our coats back on. Ordered a couple of cappuccinos which were really weak and tasted of just milk and a couple of the fresh orange juices which were absolutely delicious. Both ordered a large breakfast which wasnt the best, fried eggs wernt runny, sausages were really cheap tasting and no hash brown just some strange fried potatoes which were really dry but the bacon was lovely. Wouldn’t come again I’m afraid although the service was very good.

Called here for breakfast while visiting the area. Lovely atmosphere in the cafe. Staff courteous and friendly. The food was good. I I had spicy scrambled egg on avocado toast with crispy bacon. The bacon was delicious. My husband had a full breakfast which he struggled to finish. It is slightly on the more expensive side however was happy to pay.

I’m a regular and have been coming to Pippins Corner for a few years now. Today I visited with my partner and we were served by Sophie. Her customer service is excellent and we loved her charming personality. She made the customer experience great. All our needs were cared for, she was very attentive. She’s an asset to your team.
With Thanks,
Ian (customer Sefton Park)
Good food, chaotic service
Came on the recommendation of friends. The order process is extremely odd, that you have to order drinks first and then your food, this led us to not being able to order eggs, which are only available until 12.
The service and staff are best described as chaotic and abrupt. Lots of staff rushing around the place, with very little customer service.
The food took about 40 mins to arrive, which we were warned about and this wasn’t an issue as we were enjoying a Sunday brunch.
When the food arrived it was tasty, cooked well and made with good ingredients.
If the service improved this could easily get 5 stars. Like many places now, it appears priority is given to the dozens of take away orders placed on various apps.
Amazing place
We had the veggie and vegan breakfast. Food was amazing, this is now our favourite place, Sophie, our waitress was just lovely, nothing was too much trouble. She was welcoming, smiley and made sure we had everything we needed.
Definitely go back again!
Last two lunches have been poor
Hate to give a poor rating to a place I've previously given a good rating. Hope this is a blip, but the last two lunches I have had have been quite poor - by Pippins standards or any other good diner. For me, the balance of the ingredients and taste have left me struggling to eat either of the dishes. For instance, a falafel dish I had a while ago (on the special menu board) - falafels were really stodgy & dry and needed a lot more hummus; and on another occasion, a salad I had contained far too much chilli (flakes) and very little broccoli or walnuts (sweetness) to balance the flavours - very little quinoa or any dressing. Disappointed,

Had a lovely breakfast here. Large brekkie for the husband and spicy eggs and chorizo on toast for me. Absolutely gorgeous. Good portion size. Ate every bit but full to the brim. Good friendly atmosphere with lovely staff, Sarah with an H was super helpful. They like dogs too. Highly recommend and will definitely go back :)

Our first visit to Pippins, and I have to say the service and food were excellent. My wife said it was the best Eggs Benedict she’d ever had. Nice surroundings, friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended, can’t wait for our next visit.
