POGACHA! My mouth waters just thinking about this place!!
Pogacha is a family favorite! Ever since Itโs opening in Issaquah, a move to Bellevue and then on to its new location in Mercer Island, the quality of the food has maintained and the variety of menu options has increased! Pogacha is named after its bread, a Serbian bread that is so good you have to rein in your worst impulses to have room for your main course! The oven the pogachas are baked in was imported from Serbia and has been moved from location to location with love! This bread is so, SO good! The menu is wonderful! Everyone can find something to love. The chef here is multi-talented and Iโve sampled everything and have yet to find a complaint. Great food done perfectly! Fabulous staff! Pogachas to savor with a terrific salad. Nice wine list and a great bar! Whatโs not to like??!!
Be the first to ReplyGreat food horrible service
Came here for the first time and wonโt be back. We had a reservation and were seated pretty quickly. The table shouldnโt be a table at all as itโs in the doorway to the kitchen, next to the bathroom door, and right across from the service station. We ordered a bottle of wine, and the man that poured it splashed a bunch of wine on the table because he was trying to be fancy pouring it some kind of weird backwards way. He did apologize and brought more wine. Then our food came and the woman who was our server asked if we needed anything else. I asked for more water, and that was the last time we saw her. She was obviously overwhelmed and after sitting there for a long time, I saw her ask the tall bald guy that poured the wine to clear our table. He did and asked if we wanted a box for our half eaten entrees. We said yes, and he threw our food away and brought the check. The woman helping us finally came back and I asked where our food was. They scrambled and he came back and said there was miscommunication about boxing our food. No miscommunication, he just didnโt listen and piled all of the dishes and smooshed the food as he was clearing. He asked how we should handle it and I asked to comp an entree which he did. Sad to see service so horrible at an established restaurant that has such a nice menu. Sorry, we wonโt be back.
Be the first to ReplyGreat place to dine on Mercer Island!
Itโs been awhile but have been to Pogacha when it was in Bellevue. So was happy to stop by for lunch on our way back from Seattle. Very welcoming/accommodating staff made for a pleasant experience. And the food was outstanding. I enjoyed their โpower bowlโ while my friend enjoyed the chicken salad/avocado sandwich. She also said they make a great โArnold Palmerโ drink. We look forward to returning and meeting other friends there.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, wonderful service, reasonable prices
A brief word on how I rate a restaurant. I look for a broad-based menu with better than average food at reasonable prices including nonalcoholic beverages (under US$20 per person for lunch, under US$30 per person for dinner) served by competent and likable people. A five-star rating means the restaurant exceeds my expectations by a wide margin. A four-star rating means the restaurant more than meets my expectations.
There used to be a restaurant called Pogacha in my hometown that was my go-to dining place. It closed in 2019. There was a related restaurant (never went to it) in a nearby city also called POGACHA, but it closed in 2020. The latter rose like a Phoenix in a new location in 2021 in the Seattle suburb of Mercer Island.
We decided to try it for Motherโs Day 2021. There were four of us for Brunch. My son had their burger; his wife had the Mediterranean Scramble and my wife had bacon and eggs. The day before, I had lunch with friends in another venue and we discussed a meal I had never heard of called Dutch Baby. Much to my surprise, it was on Pogachaโs brunch menu. So I ordered it not knowing what to expect. It is now one of my favorite meals.
The food all four of us had was delicious. The server, Molly, was attentive and pleasant. The owner stopped by to chat. There was free parking in an adjacent lot. Outdoor dining is also available, weather permitting, in a small garden like setting. No entree that we tried was over $17.00
It is open for dinner Monday through Friday and for Brunch and Dinner Saturday and Sunday. Reservations are suggested. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
GO! EAT! ENJOY!
Great spot to meet friends!
I've had dinner here several time with friends and thought I should let others know what a great place this is! The little "pogacha" rolls are delicious. They have quite a varied menu with interesting choices and the food is always delicious. I never feel rushed but service is prompt, efficient and friendly. A winner!
Be the first to ReplyDelicious, Cozy, Friendly, Quiet enough to talk
Pogacha is a calm oasis in a sea of loud and boisterous joints on the burgeoning East Side.
A wide variety of menu items to choose from (the Portabella Mushroom Raviolli, and Spiced Prawns, are 2 of our favorites) and you can never go wrong with the hand thrown Pogachas, fresh every time, from their wood fired stove. Note: the lunch menu is completely different from the dinner menu, so you won't find our favs at the lunch hour. Check the menus online.
Great Cocktails!
My favorite feature about Pogacha is, whether your'e on a date night or have a party of 10, the acoustics in the restaurant allow you to actually carry on a conversation with your guest(s).
We also love to dine at Pogacha on warm summer evenings-- dogs are allowed on the outdoor patio, so it makes for a fun family meal to walk through Bellevue to this easy neighborhood favorite.
Family Birthday Celebration
We were a party of 10 and were treated like we were the most important guests in the restaurant. Kudos to our waiter, Cade!! His focus on my parents was so appreciated. The food was delicious, something for everyone from 12 to 84!! The bread is amazing!! Thanks to Cade for making this such a special family celebration!!

Delicious food in a relaxed setting. I tried the lamb shank that was off the bones. The pogacha bread is also a great attraction. Generous portions.

Chose POGACHA for dinner while in Bellevue..
Food was very fresh and tasty.
Rolls excellent..
service good.
Good service, sub-par food
Service was excellent and cant complain. Staff are organized and they run a tight ship, however the food was subpar- pastas were overcooked, everything we ordered was not seasoned well - and I dont eat salty. Would come back for the service, but not for the food.

My daughter and I dropped our cars at Jiffy Lube and walked over to Pogacha for lunch while they were being serviced. Staff was friendly and service was fast.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious food and great service in this neighborhood rrestsurant
Six of us had dinner here. We were looking for a restaurant that had good food and an environment and service conducive to conversation. Pogacha was perfect. It started with warm bread, water and wine. Two had the lamb shank which was large and delicious. Others had the Thursday special 3-course dinner for $27; this is a great deal with appetizer, salad and entree selections - at least three choices in each category. They also offer a Wednesday 3-course special. The salmon was substantial and perfectly prepared. The seafood pasta was excellent with capellini mixed in a slightly spicy marinara sauce with clams, shrimp and scallops. Also enjoyed the Marion berry pie and the bread pudding. Service was perfect from our very experienced waitress with plentiful warm bread and butter, water and new plates and silverware provided as courses changed. Everyone enjoyed the ambiance, food and service. We will return very soon.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Serbian Pizza in Downtown Bellevue
Pogachas--little Serbian-style pizzas are the specialty here, but the serve great salads, sandwiches and other entrees. paper table covers and crayons are fun for the kids, service is great and it's reasonably priced. We've been going there for years, especially for lunch with lady friends, and have always enjoyed it.
