Came by for some satay the other day and it was a mediocre experience, despite being featured in the Michelin guide. Satays were 70 cents each with a 10 skewer minimum. Pondok Makan is located inside the Albert Centre.Ordered a variety of skewers including chicken, mutton, and beef. After paying, the staff brought out the skewers to my table after a short while. The skewers itself were mediocre. They didn't have sufficient char and were on the drier and leaner side. I was looking for a fattier and charred version...bummer. The satay sauce was good though.

Pondok Makan Indonesia 270 Queen Street, #01-123 Albert Centre Market & Food MarketIt's in the 2018 Michelin Bib Gourmand List. Had the mutton satay which was highly recommended. Think only those who like their satays fatty will like it. I didn't. It's okay but not great. I'm sure I have tasted better. As for the tauhu goreng, the tauhu was fine and soft but the gravy with peanuts was more liquid than I would have liked and a tad sweet. Not a long queue at 11.45 a.m.I'm a bit wary of Michelin Bib Gourmand recommendations. Ann Chin Handmade Popiah is on the list too but customers are not stupid. No queue at all at Coronation Plaza despite a huge advertisement on the ground floor. Cozy Corner is packed with people everyday queuing for their popiahs.Giving it 4-stars more for the tauhu goreng.
