I enjoyed Sepia, and love Andrew Zimmerman cooking at a couple other pre-pandamic events, so I guess I have high expectation of Proxi. But it's underwhelming honestly. The beverage selection was great, except I don't understand why the tea comes in such small cup that the tea bag filled more than half of the capacity. The food is pricey for the portion (e.g 1 short tentacle for the octopus dish). I guess it's the inflation. LOL. I wouldn't mind it if the execution is something out of ordinary and unexpected, but they are not. Everything was just in line with how they supposed to taste (rendang tasted like rendang while the coconut rice was on the drier side somehow. That made me think that it wasn't made/steamed in the leaves it was wrapped in). Perhaps I am familiar with asian food so there is really no surprise, except the Green Curry Icecream which I thought was exceptional. There are some good asian restaurants nearby, I don't see reasons of going back.
