Don’t miss if you have the chance
This a wonderful spot although reservations can be difficult to find. The food is designed to be shared and generally the serving sizes are on the smaller side. This is not a problem as you get to try more dishes. Food and cocktails are delicious and wine selection is great.
Be the first to ReplyNothing says tashy like a mandatory tip!!!!!
Mandatory tip?!?! How abut pay your staff! For how much you charge for a meal you should have no problem paying a living wage.

So we had to reserve long time beforehand! I did not like the location but when it comes to quality then yes! It was really delicious!
Be the first to ReplyLOVED our meal and dining experience
We had the tasting dinner with wine pairing, and it was superb. I won't discuss the dishes because they are frequently changing, but each was delicious, and we sent back plates nearly licked clean after each course. As other reviewers had noted, the staff are very friendly and engaging, and we enjoyed sharing stories about other dining experiences, wines and different cities. The amount of food is just right, if not a little too filling, but I have a dining partner who is happy to clean up my leftovers. :) We would most definitely return on our next visit to town.
Be the first to ReplyFun fancy food
Very interesting food. All good of course, things that you didn't know you wanted to try. Beautiful plating and incredible service, all staff were very friendly and answered all out questions. Ordered 5 courses for 2 people, the dessert, Hay custard is very good. Overall. I think it would be fun again in another 2 months, but having it too much is overdoing it. Great bathrooms!
Be the first to ReplyInteresting but probably not worth a return visit
Intimate dining it's not - our party of 2 was party to diners' conversations on both sides of our table. The menu is interesting - unusual combinations of ingredients and sauces contrived from fruits not normally found in this part of the world. Our server however "over-shared" and his detailed descriptions of ingredients felt unnecessary and became frankly annoying. We do not normally dine at fast-food establishments, after all. We had to ask twice for the wine that we'd ordered, which arrived after the first course had been served. Portions are for sharing - e.g. 4 scallops on a small plate placed between us. Would I return? Probably not - the restaurant's "concept" of preparing locally sourced ingredients (of which they seem to be inordinately proud) doesn't really work and Vancouver has a wealth of restaurants preparing and serving interesting products sourced locally -
Be the first to ReplyNot very celiac friendly
Choice for celiacs was very limited and not much effort was made to accommodate dietary restrictions. Small things were missin such as No paper towels after washing hands in the bathroom. We ordered a starter to share and then a main each. The first main came 10 minutes earlier than the second one so we watched each other eat. Waitress was friendly and the limited food options we could try were good. Winter squash dish was excellent. Included is the menu of celiac friendly dishes. Only check marks were available.

Came to the restaurant to celebrate my birthday. The service was very good, although it felt like 4 or 5 different servers were at the table at different points. Ordered 4 courses and asked that they didn’t arrive all at once. They didn’t, but the final course was about 15 minutes after the third course. During which time we were warned that the kitchen wax closing and should we wish to order more items we had to do so prior to seeing our 4th dish. We are the Carpaccio, hiramasa, the burrata and the slow to arrive pork belly. They were all good but not outstanding. The wine was not on a list but instead online with little description accompanying it. That is poor imo. Our wine selection was not available but the sommelier offered an alternative, and it was rather good.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food. Need some change I attitude to customer service
Great food. Inspired flavours. Great local cuisine. Excellent combination of ingredients Service is untuned. We asked for wine with our appetizers and no one came to take our request until after the appetizers were delivered to our table. Staff walk around the room not looking at patrons and seem like they don’t want to offer service unless they are called out. I felt like we were an inconvenience. Three times we were reminded that our table was reserved by another party and we felt that we were being ejected from the restaurant. Our table was booked at 815 but we were reminded at 745 then 8 then 815 that we needed to leave. There was no one waiting at the front door and there were 4 tables of equal size to ours empty when we left. We spent over $500 for dinner for 3. This was embarrassing and left a bad taste after we had such a delicious meal. First time we’ve been back since they got a Michelin star. It will be a long time before we return Too
Be the first to ReplyFun and unusual dishes
This is a hip restaurant! Waiters are very knowledgeable and friendly, food is eclectic strong taste and innovative, this is a one Michelin star restaurant and well deserved, wine list is unusual and focusing on boutique wineries
Be the first to ReplyStunning
This is a restaurant not to be missed - we were fortunate enough to be a group of 4 which meant that we were able to explore more of the menu than we would have been able to if only a couple - but do not let this deter you from dining here. The various dishes are designed to be shared and, whilst I am not a fan of the purely online menu, it is accessible via the website and provides an excellent insight into the various dishes on offer (along with pictures). Highlights for us were the mushrooms and the duck but there was not a weak dish amongst them. Well accompanied by an excellent wine list and great service.

We went just a few days after the Michelin star was awarded, although we had booked before. Love the room - the size, the lighting, the atmosphere. Service was excellent - I actually knew the server from when she worked at a different restaurant in town (that's how small Vancouver can be sometimes). The food was delicious and creative. My favourite dishes were the chicories, schnitzel, and the chicken fried maitake. I'm sure there's something else I'm forgetting. We each had a cocktail - mine was The Adrian - which was very boozy, but I like that. The wine was also perfect, although for the life of me, I can't remember what it was. It is a rather large menu and I need to go back to try other things. Congratulations on the Michelin star!
Be the first to ReplyA well deserved Michelin star!
Everything was great! An energetic but relaxed ambiance. Original and delicious cocktails; truly well done… The food is outstanding. Order anything and you’ll be ooing and awing… Wonderful all around!
Be the first to Replynot all it's cracked up to be......don't want to go back
As a single diner they don't make reservations for one. I knowingly opted to get there early and hope for a seat at the bar......I got one...after about a 30 minute wait. There were other vacant bar seats....so I must assume the wait was staff oriented..(at least one other customer outside was also waiting for a seat at the bar.) Once seated I asked for a dry white wine, whatever the house usually serves. They brought me something....it was slightly bubbly and I rejected it. A bit later they brought me a second option, no bottle to look at, no name, no price. It was acceptable taste wise so I took it. My 1st course was very good. Hokkaido scallops served with fennel and a truffle hazelnut puree..It was very good. I usually eat may scallops raw when fresh, so these were lighly seared, still raw inside...perfect for me.......but that one dish, I was pretty full though they called it an "appetizer" size. My second was the BBQ pork cheeks (with the best spaetzle I ever had) but the pork was over cooked..I was sawing at the cheek with knife..what? ridiculous. I ate ate some of the spaetzle and cabbage and asked for them to please pack up the rest to take home. the wait staff was good, but not very good.......I generally use a 3 minute rule, come check on my order within 3 minutes or so to see if it is ok.....with the scallops she came back in an acceptable time range. With the pork cheeks, no...I'd already decided I was done eating before she checked..told her spaetzle great..please pack up the rest. When given the bill after never seeing a wine list of any sort I was surprised to find my one glass was nearly 1/2 my bill! I exaggerate a bit, it was only 1/3 of the bill. I still tipped well, post covid and all but I have zero interest in ever eating there again.
Be the first to ReplyIt is really only 4 1/2 Stars.
We enjoyed a fabulous 11 course tasting menu with wine pairing. The courses were interesting, fun, delicious and beautifully presented. The wine pairings were right on point. I scored our experience 5 stars but really wished I could score this 4 1/2 points because the service did not match the food and wines presented. When one books a meal of this caliber at a restaurant that some suggest is the best in Canada you would expect continuity in service. Throughout our dinner our servers and sommeliers changed, some were very knowledgeable, others not so much. At this level one would expect consistency in the team that serves you regardless of the time of the evening (We booked the 8 pm seating for 4 persons). The server s initially introduced as being assigned to our table for the evening lasted a mere two courses, never to be seen again. The second team lasted about 5 courses before they too disappeared. The last group of servers were the three or four left to wait on tables still occupied. It all really took away from what should have been an exceptional evening. So while the epicurean experience was outstanding, the lackluster service means that we will not return. Tant pis.
Be the first to ReplyAn Outstanding Culinary Experience [Save the Ambiance]
The Published on Main eleven course curated tasting menu with accompanying cocktail and wine pairings provided an extraordinary culinary dining extravaganza. The cuisine was truly exceptional both in taste and presentation and on its own merits worthy of many a return visit. Unfortunately for this patron, the restaurant atmosphere and servicing were far too casual paired with the fine dining element detracting from the overall experience.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic as Expected
Went for a family dinner. Fantastic food. Unpretentious service. Sommelier gave good advice without steering us to the most expensive wines. Lots of innovative dishes> We have been to quite a few of the "top 100" restaurants in Canada (in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver and Ottawa) and we can't argue with this as #1.
Be the first to ReplyInhospitable
On a Thursday evening we showed up at 4:55 and waited for the restaurant to open at 5. The hostess said she would seat the 2 couples with reservations first which was reasonable. There was one couple in front of us. The hostess returned from seating the reservations and asked the couple in front of us for a name and phone number! Before seating them! She then took them in. We were next, the restaurant now had 6 customers in it. We were told we could sit at the bar which we declined. We decided to go elsewhere because the reception was simply rude. When we passed by 2 hours later there were still empty tables. Not surprised..
Be the first to ReplyA Top Restaurant in Vancouver
Our most favourite restaurant with THE best tasting menu, hence the 2-3 month waitlist so be warned if you are visiting from another place. Once the Michelin star comes to Vancouver, I have no doubt that they will get a 1 Michelin Star. The service and food quality is on par with other Michelin Star restaurants we've been to. Our server Sean always remembers us and makes us feel so welcomed!
Be the first to ReplyGreat place if you have lots of time
Good food, good service but slow. We were seated at 6:00. We ordered 6 share plates last one was served at 7:45. We sat literally 35 minutes between some plates. The server mentioned the kitchen was slow for some reason. We had mentioned we had a tight time line (ferry to catch) barely made it, worrying about that kind of put a damper on what we were hoping to be a great experience. The servers were friendly and attentive most of the time. The food was really good when we eventually got some.

Party of 3 and ordered several dishes. Lightly smoked Steelhead was average. Morel Soppressini, Seared Scallop,Brussels Sprouts, Burrata, Chicken Fried Maitake were all left unfinished. Torched Yellowtail was good but overpriced.
Service was acceptable and the decor is pleasant. I would recommend the Acorn up the street for better value and flavour.
New rising star on Main
Given how popular this spot is, we made reservations a few weeks in advance. I can see why it’s so popular. Main is loaded with what I would call good neighbourhood restaurants, but Published on Main is aspiring to be more than that.
On arrival, we had our vaccine IDs checked and were seated immediately. After having a tough time deciding what to order, we tried the following:
- Wagyu Carpaccio - Very good. Beautiful plating, well executed.
- Chicken Fried Maitake - Very good. Not often you find anything chicken-friend in Vancouver. It’s a nice reintroduction to great comfort food.
- Sticky Pork - Good. Great tasting ribs. Beans were OK, but didn’t add anything.
- Lightly Smoked Steelhead - Good. The steelhead and nockerl was very good. I felt the borscht was a bit salty and did pair very well.
- Chocolate dessert - Good. The chocolate and peanut butter portions were very good, but the sorbet had the strong flavour of unripe ed banana, which I didn’t really like.
Service was excellent. Our server was very good, but all staff help out in respect to delivering plates, clearing plates, filling water, cleaning and tables between courses. Never had ask for anything because someone was always there to progress us throughout dinner.
Overall a very good dinner. Pursuing an eclectic mix of dishes gives lots of opportunities for invention and discovery. Can’t say they hit the mark with every dish, but when they didn’t, I still enjoyed trying something I’ve never had before. Plates are expensive, but you get back excellent service and ambience. I would go back.
Delightful food
So much creativity and thought goes into their food. 4 of us ordered 11 dishes. I had previously been here but the others have not so I repeated prawns, snitzel, angnolotti, brussels sprouts. We also tried their milk buns, short rib special, chicken fried matake, aebleskiver, chips & dip, perogies. All items top-notch, but I would pass on the mussels which is served cold.
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced and cold ambience
I wanted to like this place but it is just too overpriced. We paid $70 for a very average bottle of wine, The cold tile floor and bathrooms in the basement make for a cold ambience, The food was okay.
Be the first to ReplyLovely meal. Lovely space. A bit over hyped.
Heard this was THE place to ho now, and it was
Good to very good but not the wow factor we had expected. Cocktails were good but not super creative. The smoked Old Fashioned was fine, smokey and a bit of a show but didn’t have a super unique taste. The tequila cocktail special was nice but not exceptional.
Our meal was tasty. 4 of us shared 9 plates and 2 desserts. The stand outs were the savoury stuffed donuts and the hay infused dessert custard. Others were tasty too. The prawns had a definite sunomono salad vibe. The scallops were fresh tasting but lacked huge flavour (maybe that’s a true scallop). The japanese sunamomo was nice but just a odd mix with the other slightly more western flavours. The mushroom on the jaegerschnitzel was great and the schnitzel was nice and thin, but the meat lacked the diatinctive pff really excellent schnitzel shoukd have. We liked it. We’d go back. But we liked nearby Burdock & Co better. It was also very noisy. We find since Covid we have leas tolerance for the noise physically and since we are going out less we want a really great experience end to end. While the room was pretty and the vibe was good it was very hard to hear each other at our table. Also, not really
Comfortable with how packed it was. Yes, we are all vaccinated and they checked, but post covid we are uncomfortable dining on top of others. Very happy they seem to be doing so well tho’
