The Xiaolongbao are very authentic.
I really like it. If you like Xiaolongbao, you must try this restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyMy friend and I stumbled across this place on a walk back
My friend and I stumbled across this place on a walk back to where we were staying, not realizing it was so popular and in the Michelin guide. The tables inside are set up in an odd way, where you're sitting right next to different parties without separation between tables. This isn't a big deal, just a tight fit and you have to be careful with your movements. We ordered five dishes, which ended up being around $80 (tip is included in the check) with there being enough for leftovers. Each dish comes out when they're ready and the service was very quick. Sauteed Bok Choy: Necessary to balance out all the other carb and meat dishes. The garlic was soft and the bok choy still had a crunch. Pan Fried Pork Dumplings: This may be the best thing we ordered. Pan-frying gives it a crispy bottom, which contrasts the soup dumpling-like filling. It's well-seasoned and the soup inside was surprising in a good way! Scallion Pancake with Sliced Beef: This is also a great pick and I would recommend this over the regular scallion pancakes. The meat makes it more filling and the scallion pancakes are light and crispy on the outside. Pan Fried Peking Duck Bun: I would highly recommend ordering this one as well! I'm biased though because I will always order something with duck if I can. The dough-to-filling proportion is basically perfect where every bite was balanced. Sticky Rice Shao Mai: My friend ordered this thinking it was shu mai, so we were surprised (and slightly disappointed) when this came out. I wouldn't order this again because it was heavy and was essentially just a ball of sticky rice.

The crab and pork soup dumping is the best I have tasted in the US. The wanton soup is good too. I didn't expect the wanton to be that big though. Overall the foods are authentic Shanghai style. Highly recommend.

Not the most delicate soup dumpling but still does the job! Probably frozen/bought though coz it looks way too consistent. Chive Pocket, Peking Duck Bun, Stir Fry Pepper Beef - all fine, not wow, but fix the craving.

The hand cut noodles were FANTASTIC! This restaurant happened to be right across from my hotel--lucky me! If you're in the neighborhood, definitely check it out.
Be the first to ReplyThis is a restaurant that I could eat at everyday.
Service was fast and the food was good. A healthy tasty meal.

We came here before a Broadway show based my friend's recommendation. We got there before 6 and got the last table (yay) It's only my daughter and I so we couldn't order everything we wanted to try; we just ordered the soup bun with crab and pork, pan-fried duck bun, and sliced noodles. They are all very delicious and reasonably priced. The place is small but clean. The service was fast. If you go after 5:30, I'd suggest to use the "wait list" on Yelp.

Staff was incredible! They helped us pull off an epic surprise. Food was SO GOOD. Pork steamed buns are superior. The spicy shredded beef and chili pepper stir fry ramen was incredible! We ordered seconds after finishing round one.

I've been reminiscing about this place since the last time I went. The service is quick and friendly! I enjoyed the ambiance and the videos playing on the wall as I waited for my meal. I ordered the crab & pork soup dumplings & duck buns. OMG soooo goood!!! I made sure to order another soup dumplings to go home with me. Can't wait to go back.

The food is always good here but they hire staff that do not understand english. I called in advance to ask if they would sell me frozen soup dumplings so I could heat them up at home and they said sure. I ordered 4 orders of dumplings to go and I grabbed the bag and left as I was in a hurry. Instead of giving me frozen soup dumplings, everything was piping hot. I wasted my money and had to put the hot dumplings in the freezer to re-freeze them which I know will provide a poor experience. These guys need to learn english and actually listen to the customer order instead of bringing out whatever they feel like giving you.
Be the first to ReplyMade reservations for 6.
They sat at a counter area not table. Sever had poor menu knowledge. When asked about stir fry spicy tofu being vegetarian, he said no yet could not tell me what was in it. I asked if he could ask someone and he said no. He also said it could not be modified. Very odd. Buns were very good as well as dumplings. Ramen is also not vegetarian. So not good veggie spot and menu is not clear.
Be the first to ReplyI came here on a Wednesday at 6pm.
There was a line out the door and we waited probably about 20 minutes for a table for two. The restaurant is small and you may end up sharing a long table with another group, like we did.Pan fried Peking duck buns- they came out piping hot! The flavor was good and the bread was very soft, but there was definitely not enough filling/duck Pork soup dumplings- the wrap is a tiny bit too thick, but it was filled nicely with soup and the filling was very tender insidePork & shrimp wonton soup (+$4 with noodles) - the wontons were very good sized and filled, the noodles + soup were pretty standardI would like to come back and try the ramen soupAlso, check the bill- they don't tell you, but they already have a 15% gratuity added to the bill

Really enjoy this affordable gem which is on Michelin's Bib Gourmand. Soup dumplings and scallion pancake!
Be the first to ReplyThe location is busy.
Able to get a table quickly in the middle of Times Square. Soup buns were awesome. So was the thin beef pancake. I felt the ramen noodles left something to be desired. The broth was really good. All the people in my group enjoyed it. I thought the noodles were a little to soft and underwhelming. Service was fast and easy.

Ambiance (2/5): It is a congested no-frills restaurant with tables that are snug close together. There's a huge TV playing Chinese content and then a cool wall mural. Service (3/5): The service is okay during lunch hours. They will check on you but I felt like I had to get their attention to get service most of the time. We were in and out within an hour!Food:Soup dumplings (3/5): They come in an order of 6 and are a bit larger than your standard soup dumpling. While the skin was a bit thicker than I'd like, the soup was good but the filling could use a little more flavor. The dumpling soup tasted mostly like black vinegar rather than a homemade sauce (which can consist of soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, chili oil, etc.) So it didn't contribute to the taste as much. Scallion Pancake w Sliced Beef (5/5): This was my favorite dish of the meal. It was a perfect crunchy exterior and layered in hoisin sauce, green onion ends, and slices of tender beef. The dipping sauce was more hoisin. Pan-fried Peking Duck Buns (3/5): While the taste of the filling was good, there wasn't very much of it. The bun itself was soft and pillowy but if left for too long, would make the bun pretty soggy. Stir-fried Ramen w Chicken (1/5): I felt like I was eating something from a fast food Chinese shop. There was nothing special about this dish and most of my table didn't even end up eating it! The slices of chicken were very tender. There not much of the veggies found in the dish. Overall (3/5): Perhaps I had high expectations for a place that earned an honorable mention from the Michelin Star rankings. It was affordable but it did not blow me away. BE WARY OF THE TACKED ON 15% GRATUITY. I would be willing to try their soup ramen sometime before writing them off.

Some of the juiciest and most flavorful soup dumplings I have had in NYC in a while! The texture of the dumpling is not too thick and the soup tastes delicious, even on its own without any soy sauce or vinegar. The house made chili oil on the side is also delicious and aromatic. The steamed bok choy and mushroom bun was good. The soft bouncy texture and the well balanced filling was enjoyable. The duck bun was also really delicious. Was even better with soy sauce and chili oil. Great experience overall and only had to wait ~15min for a walk in table for two on a weekday evening. Even though the prices were higher than anticipated, the soup dumplings made a lasting impression and I will definitely be back for those and to try other items!
Be the first to ReplyStayed in Times Square while on a work trip and wanted
Stayed in Times Square while on a work trip and wanted something close by. I checked the reviews and they all highly recommended Real Kung Fu so I decided to venture out to grab some food and see a bit of Times Square. The reviews were not wrong. This place is a cute little spot with some great eats. I of course had to get the steamed buns. It's in the name of the restaurant so obviously a staple. These were good. Definitely worth trying (and adding a bit of soy sauce helped elevate the flavors). BUUUT the star of the show for me was the hand cut noodles - house special. Amazing flavors. Noodles cooked just right. It was my favorite dish. And the scallion pancakes with sliced beef were also good especially with the sauce that it comes with. If you're in the area it's definitely worth checking out.

This is one of my neighborhood restaurants that I'll always come back to. The menu has a ton of things so we order to share as a group and we are always happy. We usually get soup dumplings, fried dumplings, hand pulled noodles, and the beef scallion pancakes (maybe my fav dish)!!

I recently visited real kung fu little steam buns, Ramen in NYC, and tried their beef noodle soup, and I have to say, it was pretty impressive. The broth was rich and flavorful, with a depth of taste that was a nice change of pace from the typical beef noodle soups that I've had in the past. The beef was also incredibly tender and well, seasoned, complementing the broth perfectly. The noodles had the perfect texture, not too soft and not too hard. Overall, I would give real kung fu little steamed buns, Ramen, 4-stars for their beef noodle soup. If you're in the mood for a hearty and satisfying bowl of soup, this is the spot worth checking out.Follow me on Yelp, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook as I travel the world in search of the perfect bowl of noodle soup. We got in just in time! This place comes highly recommended by some locals and it was worth it. We got in just in time before closing but we'll worth it. Service was good but we were rushed due to them closing soon. The food was delicious and we even got some to go. Yes the soup dumplings do have soup in them and it was yummy. All the food was amazing. Spicy means spicy for sure. Clean and taken care of inside as well as polite staff.

We ate here 4 months ago and my daughter still laments on how she wishes she could go back and finish her noodles. Like other reviewers, we found this place because we were staying across the street. Arrived from the airport at lunch time; it was cold, we were starving. Luckily no wait. What a great find!!I highly recommend the hand cut noodles. Ramen is good too, but easier to get elsewhere. One noodle dish is enough to share, with appetizers. They are so filling! We had a couple other things, but the only thing I didn't like were the veggie steam buns - a little too spinach-y for my taste.I'm not sure why this place only has an average review of 3.5 stars. My family LOVED our lunch. Granted, we're from Charlotte, but are not totally ignorant about Asian food. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the vicinity.
Be the first to ReplyOne of our favorite stops in mid-town.
The "little buns" and handmade noodles are divine.
Be the first to ReplyThis place was right across our hotel.
We probably would've ordered more but the day that we went there, they were only doing cash only. Everything we ordered was delicious! Highly recommend this place! Most dishes are served family style and are shareable. We only ordered 3 things (there was 3 of us. 2 adults and a a teenager) and we were very full even with our small ish order. This is a small place and it seems to be a local favorite so be patient, it's worth the wait!
