Reel Inn Malibu Reviews from The Last Year
The flavors of the shrimp scampi were to die for!!! Sooo
The flavors of the shrimp scampi were to die for!!! Sooo delicious & pretty views with a fun casual vibe! I think of this pasta quite often
This has been a go-to forever for me.
The fried shrimp is a guilty pleasure and I was so looking forward to having it today. I was dining solo so I asked for a smaller order and the cashier said to order a kids meal. 4 shrimp and some fries. Perfect. However. The shrimp seem to have taken a stop in Pompeii because they were so over fried they were dry and chewy. I should have taken it back but I didn't have time. I always forget that the Cole slaw is tasteless. But I ordered it. And it was tasteless. Anyway. It's getting less and less consistent each time I dine here and I'm the only one left in my family that thinks this place is a good idea. After today, probably not.
Not sure what happened to this place food was terrible
Not sure what happened to this place food was terrible Service terrible Dirty tables everywhere Food ice cold Fried food should be warm maybe even hot some might say Tacos awful Steamed clams open Just nooooooooo
Must Try Rustic Charm
What a great spot. Do not just drive by and discount this spot because of where it is and how it looks. This place is awesome and has a menu we did not expect. Friendly and fun staff and a lot more to this restaurant than just fish & chips. And it is affordable and just plain cool inside. Check it out.
Excellent choice of fresh fish .
No frills . Pick a seafood , a side and style of preparing. Right across the street from Pacific Ocean .

Had some steamed shrimp and muscles , no seasoning bland as hell taste like it was cooked in hot dog water ; later we see a sign that says don't eat the muscles here they are poisonous possibly , what in the actual ?!&$
salmon was bomb.
coleslaw, grilled potatoes, shrimp and fries were pretty good. cajun rice was mid. also restaurant was rly hectic.

Noooooooo, this place used to be so good! I swear, the fish in the fish taco was out of a can, at least it tasted that way. Literal cat food. And it's on pch, across the street from beach. Like, the fries were spongy, can't even properly fry a frozen French fry. The short line should have been a give away. The line used to wrap out the door. Guess everyone else has figured it out already. Oh well, lesson learned.
The location is great, but the food had no seasoning.
We ordered the shrimp and scallops and the fried fish. I put almost every sauce on the table to make this taste like something! The food was fresh though just needed some more flavor.
Food was amazing and came out quick.
I came here on Father's Day, and it was not too crowded. It had a great vibe. Love this place!
Fun place to check out.
Fish tank, lights, lots of signage, indoor and outdoor seating. I like that they have (I believe and hope it was filtered) a water dispenser available. No ability to refill your own soda. Bummer. They were out of about 6 or 7 items that our party of 6 asked for and kept being told they didn't have. A little frustrating but not the end of the world. The food was - okay. Steamed veggies had zero flavor and could have been steamed a little longer. My scallops and potatos were fine. I probably wouldn't make the trek to go back for them though. We got a chocolate and coconut cake to share for dessert. It was okay too. Actually, the coconut butter frosting tasted either spoiled or it picked up some weird fridge flavors. (I only ate one bite and that was enough for me). Disappointing. The employees seemed pretty unhappy to be there. FYI - there is a parking charge. Looks like they may have valet on weekends. We went on a week day. I wouldn't say I'd never go back, but I'm not chopping at the bit to go back just yet.
Tried this place for the first time this weekend.
Food was great. Had the grilled sea bass with coleslaw and mashed potatoes. Straight up comfort food. Bonus points for being dog-friendly. Lots of seating. I was starved so I forgot to snap a shot of my food before I started eating, although I did take one halfway through. :) Will come back to this place next time I'm in the area.

Fresh seafood--need I say more?! There's always a line but you may catch a good time when the line is shorter but it moves fast anyways. Order at the counter, find a table ( which is plentiful) inside or outside patio and they will call your name to pickup. We had fresh rockfish Cajun cooked sandwich with choice of 2 sides. Fish and chips were very good and right now they have a 3 crab cake entree which is real crabmeat - don't think there was any fillers in it! And we had the calamari appetizer which was tender and lightly battered. Definitely will be back.

It looked crowded when i drove into the parking lot but there is a lot of room inside. The menu is on the wall as you walk in and there aren't many frills but they know what they're doing with seafood. The selection of fish is in the front display and you have 3 ways you can get it cooked. The sides are listed as well and you can see the dishes get served on the same counter. As you place your order they will answer your questions and after you pay, just find yourself a seat. Water is serve yourself but they have beers available. Condiments and sauces are available nearby. Cooking time is quick and they announce your name when your order is ready to get. Every plate i saw come out looked perfect and my order was just amazing. Calamari was thick pieces and tender inside, the shrimp pasta simply seasoned so i didn't need to add anything. This place is worth coming back!

The Cajun shrimp caesar is a must! All of their fish is fresh and really good, I always love the sea bass and Cajun salmon. You can skip the crab cakes
go to place on PCH
right off pacific coast highway this place is always crowded. you can get a variety of seafood, steamed or fried, tacos, soup, etc. Overlooks the ocean on the other side of the road. OUtdoor seating, slightly rustic.
Located next to the beach coming off of the PCH, this spot
Located next to the beach coming off of the PCH, this spot is very local and serene. I enjoyed the fish and chips with a side of cajun rice and I especially liked the tartar sauce they have. The ice tea was also great. There's a lot of seating, both outside and inside, and it's great for an after surf meal. It's not like a traditional restaurant so there isn't much service but the people were still nice.
The food is absolutely delicious.
Every single bite. The service is amazing. There's lots of cool stuff to look at here. You can see the beach from your seat.
Food is horrible.
The quality of fish is below horrible. We ordered chilean Seabass, and it was cooked to rubber and tasted like it was five weeks old. We returned it for a refund.

It's been a while since I have been here but the food never disappoints. I love this place and the vibe. The outdoor patio is great especially on a nice beautiful LA day. Also they do allow dogs in the outdoor patio. This is a great spot when heading out of LA along PCH.
A beautiful spot for a great piece of fish.
I had the Sea Bass Cajun style with Cajun rice. My fish was meaty, moist and cooked perfectly. The Cajun rub was good, not overpowering. Just right. The rockfish and salmon are other good choices.

The standout dish was the signature seafood platter, a feast for the senses featuring a variety of impeccably sourced seafood delicacies. Each item on the platter was expertly cooked and beautifully presented, showcasing the chef's skill and creativity. What's truly sets apart is their genuine love and care for pets. They provided a water bowl and even offered a special doggy menu with tasty treats for our furry friend.

We've been coming here for years and it continues to be one of the best fish places in LA. Always fresh and lightly seasoned all the dishes are delicious. The below reviewer Mojito doesn't know what he's talking about.

Went with a group of friends and really enjoyed ourselves in the outdoor seating. My fried shrimp dish was yummy and I even got to have a delicious margarita. The people taking our orders were very nice.
Fun location and casual beach atmosphere.
Food quite mediocre. Go here to drink, stick with deep fried stuff if you must eat.
What a great place! We met up with family that live nearby
What a great place! We met up with family that live nearby in Pacific Palisades and they insisted we try their local go-to. The parking is decent, the place massive with good indoor and lots of outdoor seating. Outdoor consists of an awning covering for inclement weather and electric heaters. The food is fairly priced for presentation, quality, quantity, temperature, and taste. Staff was nice and seemed to recognize loyals by name. We don't venture this way often, but would return and recommend to any who come this way.

We wandered in here during a quiet time just because it was convenient, and honestly were honestly surprised by the Yelp reviews after the fact. I think the decor kind of sets the expectation - you're here for a decent lowkey meal in a chill environment with friendly staff. We got the fish and chips and fried calamari/shrimp, and they came out fresh and crispy. It didn't blow our minds, it wasn't seasoned much, but you don't really need that with fresh seafood. This place gets a thumbs up from both a New Orleans native and a person who grew up eating nearly exclusively live seafood. I can say the coleslaw is somehow completely tasteless, though. I'd skip on on that unless you just like the texture.
