Disappointing based on other feedback
Sat inside could have been anywhere. loads of staff but none could be bothered serving the table. Food was ok but not hitting it out of the park for the price. The sommelier was keen to push the large value bottles not really connected with the order.
Excellence and class
Class and elegance .. apparently the place to be .. nice terrace. Inspiring menus.. amazing wine card. Excellent food and service
Good food. Very poor service.
Food decent. Service poor. We were seated as far inside the restaurant as possible, already feeling a little unloved, we were left for a good 5 minutes until we managed to catch someone's attention to ask if we could order a drink. Took another 15 mins until we could summon a waiter to take the food order (basically all the staff focus was on the diners who were seated outside at the front of the restaurant - need to book several months in advance apparently to get a seat out front, we booked 10 weeks on advance and were sat as far inside s it gets). Food came, steaks, tasty enough. No complaints there. But our empty plates were left for at least 15 mins until we managed to ask someone to collect them. No music, no atmosphere (inside anyway). Very poor service indeed. Not recommended. Go get yourself somewhere more friendly with attentive service where you might feel valued as a customer. Shame.
best spot for dinner in Donostia
This is, imho, the best restaurant in San Sebastian. Been to 3 star Michelin, Pintxo spots, fish restaurants ao but this was by far the best experience. Maybe not as fancy and elaborate as the Michelin spots but still overall best experience. Food had great taste and well presented. Service very good and made us feel at home and welcome. Sommelier very knowledgeable and thought outside the box to give me a by the glass experience . My companion did not drink alcohol so couldn't benefit from the excellent wine card - more than 75k bottles in the cellar. Got the prawns carpaccio and a main course + dessert but later learned we could order as we wanted to try more - next time more starters to share and enjoy. Some confusion with the bill but no issue. Was fixed immediately and we enjoyed a visit to the wine cellar hosted by Jorge, the latest generation. Beautiful view from the terrasse overlooking la Kontxa but be careful where you sit as I bumped my head into the branches. Book well in advance - very popular by (packed by 9PM). Will definitely be back ! Price level reasonable.
A very nice restaurant in San Sebastian
Simple food excellent quality ....service a bit slow view is amazing ....I took the venison definetly to recommend .....amazing wine collection ...reasonable pricing ...the apple tart is also a must
Excellent food and atmosphere
Apparently it’s a place witty most wine list on the earth, from 1885–2005. The hostess was really nice and we could pick whatever we wanted to eat. We had fish soup, baked crab and sole in butter sauce and baked Alaska. Altogether it was 200 eur with a bottle of 60-eur wine but the grilled crab made me want to cry as it was so tasty.
Totally sublime - and so friendly
This was an amazing lunch experience - could not fault. In everyway - food, service and ambience - total 10/10. We were in the garden - although inside equally beautiful. We even managed a private tour of the extraordinary cellar. Family run by three generations - all incredibly engaging. Highly recommended and would definitely return. Tip: Garden courtyard by day. Inside by evening.
8 perfect grilled shrimps !
Such a perfect last night in San Sebastián. The restaurant had been recommended by someone at home. The food was something special . I had the grilled white shrimps ( 8! ) followed by the sole and then the soufflé ( I admit it wasn’t like any soufflé I had had before but it tasted good ) The fish was cooked in some butter and garlic , the peppers were ordered as a side ( a specialty of the area ) and were the best we had . Full of flavour . The fries were really good ( probably not needed ) The staff were friendly and helped us pick a gorgeous local white wine . Can’t ask for more !
Disappointing service for a Michelin Restaurant
Not sure what happened but our service was not great. The food was delicious but after eating at several top restaurants in the area we could not help but notice that our service was severely lacking. It seemed like a long time before we received menus, the waitress said the sommelier would take our drink order but he never arrived. We waited a long time before asking again and were told he already came to our table. 🤷 ♂️ After an awkward pause, she simply walked away. Our food arrived and then we asked again to order wine! Even though it was not served with the meal, we still wanted to enjoy a bottle. The food and wine were wonderful, I guess everyone has a bad night here & there with service. With so many restaurant options we were disappointed we chose this one.
A bit of a disappointment
Rekondo, like several other notable restaurants, came highly recommended on our trip to a foodie haven. The setting and views were fantastic as you sit outside on a deck under a tree. The views of LaConcha beach are fantastic. We had a variety of appetizers to start, the risotto with clams was particularly tasty. Several of us had the grilled sole, also very tasty. The biggest disappointment with this restaurant was the service and level of attention. Never have I been to a restaurant where you order a bottle and no one, during three hours, asks if you want more. Similarly, we ordered a bottle of wine. No one was asked to taste it, the server just poured. And never returned to see if we wanted any more. One of the entrees was not very nice but no one noticed until the end of the meal when the other entrees were finished. To their credit, the restaurant took that item off the bill. Overall a bit of a disappointing dining experience

Disappointing experience with just a few memorable dishes
This place was highly recommended by a friend of mine who I trust, so I had high expectations which sadly were not met. Service was inconsistent - we had a lot of different people helping us and one of the servers really knew her stuff but she was hard to trace. We were among the first ones to be seated (we came at the opening) but among last to be served. Food was overall boring and overpriced, although we did have a few good dishes. The seafood stew was boring - did not have a depth of flavor - all i can taste is crab and tomatoes. The white shrimp app at 45 euros were just a few small shrimp with a side of mayo (it honestly reminded me of the free tapas I would get in the south of Spain with a glass of wine). It was fresh and tasty but again nothing i would expect at this caliber. We also had clams which were good although i feel like the sauce tasted like it had flour or starch or something to thicken it which was ruining it a bit. Grilled Hake was amazing though - so juicy and tasty. Desert was amazing as well. But given the price point and the fact that only one of the 4 dishes blew me away - i would probably try a different place next time around.
Highly recommended
A truly special restaurant, in an old building overlooking the bay. Classic fine dining, unpretentious but elegant. Fine seafood, superbly prepared vegetables (fresh baby peas, white asparagus). Service is welcoming and helpful. The wine list is famous. A wonderful experience.
Disappointing
Very expensive, which is fine if it meets your expectations. But they forget the wine, offered it after main course was served. 38 eiros for a small plate of peas with 2 potatoes. Did not ask if we would like something else to drink after taking the empty glasses . Served coffee without the ordered Calvados, and charged extra for 2 small bottles of olive oil which they took when clearing the table, also the one unopened. 6 euro. Charged 12 euro for tomato Juice, " mistaken for a cocktail". Makes you wonder where to go when you are willing to pay extra for a fine dine experience with dito service. Not here.

From entry to exit, the waiters who came to the table were friendly and pleasant. The food was fair and good. What ruined the meal was the complete lack of knowledge on the part of the waiter who went to the table to remove the frappe and the bottle of champagne. He removed the bottle which was almost at the end but not finished. Of course it could be one word against another but it would be easily resolved by asking if we had finished the bottle, or if we wanted more and they would get an answer that they still had, or at the limit, validate it and serve it in front of the customer. If it would be empty…case solved. For a restaurant of this level it was a complete lack of professionalism and I couldn't let it go. Failing in something so basic for those who manage it must be like putting your hands on your head. I was in disbelief and got quiet with the situation but my humor change at that moment. I want to emphasize again that the rest of the team were good and the food was good. It was just a lack of professionalism and good manners.
Lovely Lunch at Rekondo
We had a good experience in Rekondo. Food was delicious! We had yummy oystes for appetizer, cochinillo and filet mignon. Highly recommended!

Jewel In San Sebastian
I booked Rekondo for Sunday lunch and it was a great experience . From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Lourdes we knew we were in for a treat . The restaurant was about 1.5 miles from our hotel on the beach in an elevated position . The food was outstanding - for starters we had stuffed artichoke and prawns and for the mains we had hake and sole . Everything was excellent and the staff were professional but relaxed . Every table was full of both locals and some tourist . I would highly recommend .
Food was great - request tour of wine cellar
We ate at Rekondo on a rainy night. The restaurant was warm and cozy and the staff welcoming and helpful. As we were approaching the end of our 10 day trip, we were thankful for the ability to order a-la-carte. The seafood was some of the freshest we've ever had and the beef was prepared in the local style. The wine list was expansive and the Sommelier was extremely helpful introducing us to a couple of wines we have never had from northern Spain. I highly recommend taking a tour of the wine cellar which is massive and takes up the entire lower level of the building.

PERFECT!
This is definitely among the best five restaurants we have been to, all over the world. The food was excellent, the service was incredible (the crew were extremely modest, welcoming and friendly) and the atmosphere was as cozy as it could get. The primary experience was wine! We will never forget the wine menu and the cellar this place has. If we go to San Sebastian again, we will certainly want to dine again at Rekondo. The best!
Dinner on a hilltop
Sitting on the hilltop, overlooking San Sebastian, is this friendly and delicious restaurant. The food was fabulous, the service was impeccable but the big secret is the cellar! I had to choose a bottle of wine from a wine BOOK of over 300 pages!!! The sommelier was super helpful and helped us choose a delicious 2016 Valenciso Reserva. The dinner was delightful and if you have never tried suckling pig, I would absolutely suggest it.
Food was amazing - service was not!
This was our last restaurant on our last evening in San Sebastián. Every one we mentioned it to, said how amazing it was so expectations were high. The food was amazing and could not fault it - the filet mignon was cooked to perfection and really juicy. The service however was the complete opposite and really disappointing. The ambience in the restaurant was silence when we arrived - not even background music was playing to cut through the lack of noise. I’ve never had to whisper in a restaurant. I would go back for the food but not for the service.

Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* FluffyStar64, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* FluffyStar64 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to FluffyStar64 for any questions Peter may have as FluffyStar64 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* FluffyStar64 now uses their connections at Rekondo Donostia to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If FluffyStar64 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, FluffyStar64 receives the $200 reward which is credited to FluffyStar64's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Rekondo Donostia!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
