So on a Saturday night- the vibe was vibing! The hostess was super friendly, engaging and welcoming. That was just the beginning. From entry to exit, we had an amazing experience. The specialty cocktails are a definite Yes!! And the food??? Nothing but good things to say - fish is super fresh and the octopus was spectacular. Just go!

We went there for Valentine's Day and I have to say, their food is top tier. They had a prefixed menu which I ordered the medallions which consisted of elk and venison had a pear wrapped with prosciutto filled with some sort of cream, while my fiancé ordered a rib eye steak with potatoes. Everything was delicious. For appetizers we got the oysters and the pasta that had a duck stuffing. Both meals were delicious and just outright a nice meal. For drinks I got a whiskey and they had a tropical drink that I am blanking out on but they did well with them. Service was top tier. There was a hiccup in the beginning but the friendly atmosphere, the speed, the care and respect was just nice. Felt like a real family restaurant you see in the movies. Would love to come back here again

We ordered two Cornish then, seared tuna, veal pasta, the octopus salad and a fisherman's soup. The grilled octopus salad is amazing and not to be missed. All the entries are really great! We added cappuccino at the end with panda cotta and crepes with walnut cream.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent authentic Croatian food.
...my wife is from Konalve near Dubrovnik. Friendly servers and knowledgeable.
Be the first to ReplyCame here with some high expectations for the first time.
We were warmly welcomed and sat at a nice table downstairs. Service was unobtrusive and the food came fast. Room had ok ambiance e with wine wall but loud slide to lower ceilings. Nice art on walls We were served bread with olive oil and a dip I think of garbanzo beans. Ok olive oil The beets and grilled calamari were the appetizer. Beets were delicious with a nice acidity and sprinkled with goat cheese. Delicious. Calamari was accompanied with coleslaw and it worked well! Nice acidity and olive and garlic. Calamari was great although the middle was a little undercooked. Nice large portion. The lobster special was a lobster tail cooked broiled and presented very nicely. It was a little rubbery but it was tasty. The other entree was problematic. I felt like a pork chop and expected a grilled pork chop with nice Brussels sprouts and potatoes. The Brussels sprouts were mushy and lacked flavor. Potatoes were ok. Pork chop was unacceptable - overcooked and doused is a gravy of some sort (I had to put a piece of bread to absorb this mess so I could try eat the pork chop). Unfortunately the pork chop was inedible. It was impossible to cut with a steak knife so I gave up - see pic. Waiter asked how it was as my plate was barely touched. I said no and he asked the manager to come over. He did and of course comped the pork chop and offered a new dish of my choice. By then I was not in the mood for further experimentation and despite his efforts and good nature I just could not accept. Overall this was a poor experience and the food disappointing. People were super nice and I understand that I may have ordered the 'wrong thing'. But if it's on the menu either do it right or take it off the menu Will I return? Maybe for redemption but certainly disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful food; unique choices and a great atmosphere.
Would recommend the seafood and apps.

Romantic, spacious restaurant with top notch food and service. I took my wife here for Valentine's Day, and it was terrific. I really like that tables aren't crammed in next to each other.
Be the first to ReplyLovely restaurant with an impressive selection of fish
Lovely restaurant with an impressive selection of fish options--market specials are grilled over coals outside with a choice of sides. You can have your fish filleted at your table if you prefer not to deal with the bones. The menu (presented on a small tablet device) also features a couple of beef, pork and chicken options and a nice selection of Croation wines. Pleasant, lively atmosphere without the over the top volume we have come expect when we go out to dine. Our waiter was friendly, attentive and was able to answer all our questions. The only thing that disappointed were the desserts which I would probably pass on next time. We'll definitely be back though. The restaurant offers valet parking but we were able to find a spot a few doors down.
Be the first to ReplyFish was great.
The prices are a little high. The location is cute and romantic. The chicken nuggets were surprisingly tasty

Came with a large group and ordered all the things ;) The grilled vegetables and the cuttlefish risotto to start - and let me start by saying: I'm not one who craves cuttlefish/squid ink foods, but the risotto was simply amazing - we wound up ordering a few of these to share. Also had the Pasta Lopud (with lobster and shrimp), veal ragou (gnocchi and veal), whole grilled fish (I believe it was the snapper), roasted cornish hen, and a platter of sausages (lamb, I believe.)Finished with Palačinke (a crepe filled with ice cream was the one I sampled), the Kremšnita (a puff pastry with vanilla creme) and something else I didn't get a chance to try. All washed down with some good Croatian beer, wine, and cocktails - which they do a great job of making. While we did have the benefit of a native Croatian who was part of our party and led the ordering, the service and food were excellent. It's rare when you order so many things and so many of them are hits - everything was fantastic. But that cuttlefish risotto is really seared into my memory. Valet parking out front was really helpful given it's a busy street.
Be the first to ReplyGood food, great service.
Done while imaging you are in Croatia. We had the branzini, mussels, sausage, monkfish. There is a lunch price fixed, 3 course menu currently for $25.

My partner and I came here for an early dinner on a weekday night, and we were some of the only people in the restaurant. We got great service from our waiter. The presentation of the fish is memorable, and it did make us go for seafood. If you request the fish to be filleted, they'll do it for you right at the table! The cocktail menu was surprisingly robust. The carrot cake was a little disappointing. I'd skip it, especially with as large of a dessert menu as there was.
Be the first to ReplyLoved it although I think the food was a little too pricey.
Would be great if the place would add some traditional music on the background.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was great.
The atmosphere was pleasant. The service was efficient. The wait staff are wonderful. Highly recommend to anyone who would like a different kind of culinary experience.

Be the first to Replymy partner and i had been meaning to try this place for
my partner and i had been meaning to try this place for leg-ert yurrrrs and finally got around to it. Dined in the late afternoon on the outdoor patio. We each had an appe-teaser and an entrevous. She had 1 glass of wine, I had seltzer because my body is a temple and i go to temple, if you know what i mean (Jewish). Service - competent without being overbearing. The waiter had a good command of the menu and brought the food and check in a timely manner. Not sure that you could ask for more, unless you are a - say it with me - ENTITLED! BOOMER! but we are not so got no problem here. Food - solid but unremarkable. I'm not overly familiar with Croatian food, but having now eaten it, I'd call it "ocean Italian". Very fish forward, which i'll readily admit is not my favorite protein. But, when in Fish Italy ,dine as the Fish Italians do. My starter was grilled calamari with a side of shredded, lightly dressed cabbage. The calamari was great, the cabbage was, you know, cabbage. Some people like cabbage a bunch, but not I. It was basically like, continental cole slaw, which is better than American cole slaw cause American cole slaw sucks dick and will give you food poisoning. My main was seared tuna, which came with risotto and a couple of like, lil polenta cakes. Tuna was good, though I submit it perhaps could've been even more rare. Risotto was delicious but blisteringly hot. Even after letting it sit for a few minutes, I still managed to burn my tongue, which is the worst, cause there's no branch of medicine that deals with the tongue and you just have to wait for the tongue to regenerate, like a salamander's tail. The polenta cakes were okay, not really my thing, so i ate one and gave the other away to my boo bear. Venue - there's like an upper and lower patio, with the lower being much more spacious. So obviously we were sat in the upper. A nice space but very buggy. I understand that outsides have bugs but like, we were on a stone patio in the middle of downtown New Rochelle, which really shouldnt' have bugs. Every couple of bites I had to stop eating and swat bugs, which did hinder my enjoyment. There was also a large party of approximately 14 people who we were sat directly next to. They were primarily boomers, so of course they were oblivious to anyone except themselves. They encroached on our space, and spent endless time taking photos directly behind/next to us, re-jiggering who would take what leftovers, and just basically having no sense of personal space. Obviously the restaurant can't be blamed for this party's behavior, but better planning would've put this larger group in the much emptier and more spacious lower patio, where they could do whatever boomers like doing (I dunno, watching repeats of Everybody Loves Raymond?). So overall, I'd give the place a 3/5. I wish them the best but I would probably not go back.
Be the first to ReplyMy fiancé and I tried Croatian food for the first time
My fiancé and I tried Croatian food for the first time here at Dubrovnik last night. We were seated in the patio area and the ambience definitely made it feel like we were dining in the Mediterranean- perfect for an engagement dinner. We ordered a variety of food including: pork chop "Samobor" style, chargrilled Branzino, grilled salmon, and the asparagus risotto. When you order their fish, you can choose between having the fish filleted for you or having the whole fish brought to you. While it does take a good amount of time for the food to be served, the food did taste very fresh and good when it arrived. We both agreed that our favorite dish was the asparagus risotto.

Dined at this wonderful restaurant last night for the first time. The weather was atrocious, but you would never know it when inside this beautiful place with amazing decor and ambiance. The staff were super attentive to all of our needs. It was "seafood night" which consisted of a buffet of many different types of fish - monkfish, red snapper and many others. Oysters, calamari, seafood salad, homemade pasta in a delectable sauce....every single thing was delicious! Dessert was chocolate mousse, a berry filled crepe and flan. I will definitely be dining here again soon!
Be the first to ReplyDubrovnik never disappoints.
Especially if you like seafood, or just healthy fresh and tasty food, do not miss it. Not inexpensive, but high value in every way. Service is flawless, and the wine selection is always good, too.
